Chapter 1 - The Normal Life Ends ( part - 1 )

Like every other day, I woke up before sunrise.

I slid the curtains aside and opened the window. The sky was painted in shades of red and orange, the sun slowly rising behind distant hills. Whenever I saw that color, my mind wandered.

What if I became the richest person in the world?

What if I became the greatest actor, someone people admired?

But those thoughts never lasted long.

I was just a middle-class boy, with no special talent except imagining things far beyond my reach. Like everyone else around me, my path seemed already decided—scholar, doctor, or engineer. Even if I dreamed of something more, I didn't have the courage, money, or support to chase it.

So I accepted it.

I decided I would become an engineer.

After freshening up, I followed my daily routine—bath, uniform, school bag. Yes, a school uniform. I was still in school.

My name is Heylyn Sov. Sov is my surname, Heylyn my first name. I still don't understand why my parents chose that name, but there was nothing I could do about it.

A familiar voice echoed through the house.

"Breakfast is ready! Everyone come and eat."

It was my mom.

I hurried out of my room, sat down, and ate quietly. After finishing, I hugged my mom and dad before leaving for school.

I lived in the Philippines, on Mindoro Island, near Mount Halcon. My school was St. Sunner Grace Convent School, and I was in 9th grade.

I was an average student. Not bad. Not good. Just… invisible.

My classmates—should I call them classmates, or bullies? I never understood why they targeted me. Sometimes it was words. Sometimes it was fists. I never fought back. I never asked why.

All I knew was that I was frustrated.

No girlfriend.

No money to hang out.

No place where I truly belonged.

When school ended, I began walking home alone.

That's when I noticed him.

A man was walking behind me, matching my pace. At first, I ignored it. People walked the same roads all the time. But something felt wrong. Every time I slowed down, he slowed down. When I sped up, he did the same.

Fear crawled up my spine.

The moment I realized he might be dangerous, I ran.

Not toward home—but toward the forest near the mountain.

Branches scratched my arms as I ran deeper, my lungs burning. I could still hear footsteps behind me. My thoughts shattered.

Why me?

Why not someone else?

God… what did I do to deserve this?

I didn't want to die.

I didn't want to be tortured.

I kept running until I reached a massive banyan tree, its twisted roots spreading like claws. In the evening light, it looked terrifying. I hid behind it, holding my breath.

Minutes passed.

The footsteps faded.

Only then did I realize something horrifying—I had reached deep mountain territory, a place people avoided because of wild beasts. Night was falling fast. I didn't dare move in the darkness.

Climbing the banyan tree felt safer than wandering blindly.

My hands trembled as I climbed. My heart pounded so loudly I thought it would give me away.

And then I saw it.

A huge anaconda, coiled along the branches, its eyes fixed on me.

Time froze.

Cold fear flooded my body. I couldn't scream. I couldn't move. Tears streamed down my face as my legs shook uncontrollably.

"Mom… Dad…" I whispered.

"I'm sorry… I'm such a useless son. I didn't even get a girlfriend before dying…"

The snake moved.

Slow. Silent. I watched its massive body shift as it opened its mouth.

I couldn't escape.

Darkness swallowed me.

Darkness.

Pressure.

Silence that crushed louder than sound.

Heylyn's body was folded unnaturally, air gone, thoughts fading. Every breath attempt failed. Panic tried to take over—but then something strange happened.

He stopped screaming.

He stopped begging.

Instead, his mind became clear.

"If I die… it ends.""If I move… I might live."

His teeth clenched.

Instinct took control.

Without thinking, he bit down.

Not wildly.Not in fear.

He bit with purpose.

The resistance was tough, elastic—alive. His jaw screamed in pain, but he didn't stop. He bit again, harder, using every muscle he had. His neck strained. His spine burned.

Something gave way.

The space around him reacted.

The anaconda's body tightened violently.

The pressure inside shifted.

That was the moment.

A sharp crack echoed inside Heylyn's own body.

Not the snake.

His bone.

Pain exploded—but instead of breaking him, it rewired him.

His brain snapped.

Limits shattered.

Muscles pulled beyond design.Bones bent—but did not collapse.Nerves stopped sending pain and started sending commands.

MOVE.

He pushed his elbow out.

Another crack.

This time, not his.

The space widened.

He used his pens—not as weapons—but as extensions of his will, forcing movement where none should exist. His body adapted mid-motion, reinforcing itself through stress alone.

Not evolution.

Not awakening.

Adaptation through damage.

The anaconda convulsed.

And then—

Light.

Air.

Heylyn was expelled violently, crashing onto the forest floor.

He didn't scream.

He stood.

For the first time in my life, fear didn't control me.

Something inside me had changed.

That night, beneath the ancient banyan tree, the weak boy named Heylyn Sov disappeared.

And something far more dangerous was born.

what happened to me at that time . what was that how can i a weak puny boy teared the stomach of an anaconda . is that what people say near death instincts become sharper and mind hastens thinking .what was that ?
