Hearing that from her, Adrian nodded and moved past her. He walked out of the building and back to his car. Almost immediately, the car zoomed out of the premises and back onto the road. Soon, the tall buildings faded away and stretches of green came into sight.
He turned the car into a quiet street and stopped in front of a familiar house. He got out and walked toward the small gate.
It was unlocked, so he easily pushed it open and stepped into the compound. When he reached the door, he noticed that it was unlocked as well, which somehow made his eyes brighten a little.
He opened it and entered. The house was completely quiet. He moved through the rooms, but it didn't seem as though anyone was there. If not for the shopping bags on the table, he would have thought she hadn't been there at all.
