Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Sorry! The Power Is a Bit Too Big

Mirror Dimension.

While Baron Mordo was sulking, Karl was busy comprehending magic.

After learning this spell, the Vishanti bestowed a massive amount of formidable divine power upon him.

To the Vishanti, that power might be nothing.

But to Karl, it was terrifying.

After converting it, the energy within his body instantly increased by thirty percent.

He was no nobody.

After another year of cultivation, Karl was absolutely the strongest Master Sorcerer—

with no exceptions.

Karl felt that even Baron Mordo was no longer his match.

The magic power within him was vast as an ocean, immeasurable.

And yet, even in that state, his strength still surged by another thirty percent.

That made it obvious just how terrifying the power that had descended on him a moment ago truly was.

"The Vishanti are really giving me face," Karl muttered.

"Not bad, not bad. Twenty-three layers."

Karl was extremely satisfied.

Beside him, Baron Mordo was still crouched on the ground drawing circles.

Even though he'd mentally prepared himself, he still hadn't expected it.

This brat Karl was just too monstrous.

The borrowed divine power alone was enough to make people shudder.

The Vishanti's favoritism was way too blatant.

Baron Mordo couldn't help grumbling internally.

He was, after all, one of Kamar-Taj's Master Sorcerers—one of its strongest.

Yet the divine power he could summon wasn't even one ten-thousandth of Karl's.

How could his mentality not collapse?

Fortunately…

After spending so long with Karl, if nothing else, his mindset was far steadier than before.

Even when Karl's freakish feats threw him off balance, he could suppress it quickly.

Baron Mordo took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down, and then said,

"Karl, I have no doubts about your talent."

"Magic this powerful, and you can learn it in the blink of an eye."

"But how strong this spell actually is—we still need to take a look."

"Not every spell can be brought to its maximum power."

Karl nodded.

That was true.

The same spell, used by different people, would naturally have different power.

Karl also wanted to see just how strong his magic really was.

"Since Sensei says so, I'll try it."

Karl nodded to himself as well.

With that, he stopped hesitating.

All the magic in his body surged into motion.

In an instant—

Karl's aura erupted violently.

Even the clouds overhead were blasted apart.

Baron Mordo watched with his heart in his throat.

The Mirror Dimension was a reflection of real space.

Everything was no different from the outside world.

If Karl could unleash such power inside the Mirror Dimension…

didn't that mean he could do the same outside?

Baron Mordo's mouth twitched.

Just one year…

and this kid had gotten even stronger again.

He felt that even now, he might not be an opponent anymore.

"Monstrous brat!" Baron Mordo cursed inwardly.

But then, he became happy again.

This kid…

was his disciple.

The stronger Karl was, the more face Baron Mordo had.

Thinking that, Baron Mordo couldn't help a smile curling up at the corner of his mouth.

However—

the very next moment—

that smile instantly twisted into sheer horror.

His features contorted.

In a flash, the sky blazed bright.

The entire sky was filled with platinum-white radiance.

As if a second enormous sun had appeared in the heavens.

Boom!

Crack!!

A gigantic rift split open in the sky.

Baron Mordo couldn't even see the edge of it.

At the same time—

Kamar-Taj was suddenly illuminated by white light as well.

The whole world turned as bright as day.

The Ancient One, who had been teaching probationary sorcerers, suddenly raised her head and looked toward the sky.

In the span of a heartbeat—

the Ancient One appeared directly in the air.

She watched with her own eyes as a wave like sword-energy surged straight into the heavens.

As if nothing in this world could withstand it.

"This kind of power?"

"The Sacred Sword of the Vishanti?"

"But what is going on with this divine power?"

Even the Ancient One couldn't help the corner of her mouth twitch.

Divine power?

The amount of it was far too outrageous.

Was this a joke?

She had cultivated for so many years and was Agamotto's direct inheritor.

And yet—

the divine power she could receive was only so much.

When casting spells, the quantity of "divine" strength she borrowed was only so much, and the power naturally only reached that level.

But this Sacred Sword of the Vishanti—what was happening here?

This amount of divine power…

was no less than everything she had borrowed over all these years—if not more.

In all of Kamar-Taj…

there was probably only that kid who could have such power.

"Karl… you really are getting more and more monstrous."

"This kid… isn't he actually some deity's reincarnation?"

The Ancient One couldn't help thinking to herself.

If he didn't have ties to the gods, how could he be monstrously strong to this degree?

"Who knows what level this kid will reach in the future…"

The Ancient One thought silently.

The commotion Karl caused this time was not limited to Kamar-Taj.

A platinum-white sword aura—like a second sun—appeared directly in the sky.

Half of Earth was bathed in that dazzling light.

In that direction, more than a dozen satellites were instantly vaporized.

That platinum-white sword aura continued flying across the sky.

It looked like it would only stop once something blocked it.

S.H.I.E.L.D.

Nick Fury stared at the report in front of him, his expression extremely ugly.

"Can you tell me what this means?"

"Unidentified energy eruption in the Himalayan Mountains, continuously increasing in scale."

"Conservative estimate: energy index comparable to the detonation of a small atomic bomb."

"Are you kidding me?"

Nick Fury shouted.

Across from him, Maria Hill didn't look any better.

"In truth, we don't know either."

"We don't know what it is at all."

"Or some newly developed weapon? Or an alien organism?"

"We can't make sense of it."

"The energy spiked too fast, and it's too singular—there's no way for us to reproduce it for study."

Maria Hill said.

"I say it's something those mysterious sorcerers cooked up."

"This unknown kind of power—it's not the first time."

Nick Fury said slowly.

On his face was deep wariness.

If this really was something the sorcerers made…

then it was far too terrifying.

During the Battle of New York, the power those sorcerers unleashed was already terrifying enough.

Now it was even more exaggerated.

This was basically a human-shaped weapon!

Was this really power a human could possess?

Nick Fury didn't want to admit it.

But in that instant…

he genuinely felt fear.
