Now that she had successfully slipped out, Diana naturally put everything she had just promised completely out of her mind.
Moving at lightning speed, Wonder Woman headed straight for the Zeus Hotel.
For all the occasions when the heroine could be somewhat unreliable, once it came to fighting, her enthusiasm was unquestionable.
Diana quietly made her way to the left side of the Zeus Hotel.
Using eyesight far superior to that of an ordinary human, she concealed herself and began observing the activity across the street.
"Hmph!"
"Gotham really is a hopelessly corrupt place. Everywhere you look, there are irredeemable villains!"
Diana snorted coldly.
She had visited Gotham several times over the past few days, and nearly everything she had seen seemed like a condensed exhibition of humanity's ugliest impulses.
She did not like the city at all.
Maxie Zeus, meanwhile, had absolutely no idea that this was about to become a very bad day for him.
As usual, he stood outside wearing ancient Roman-style armor, smiling broadly as he welcomed his guests.
After all, he was the owner of the hotel.
Greeting customers was the bare minimum he could do.
Unfortunately, the sight only made Diana angrier.
Standing at the entrance greeting people like some kind of mascot while using Father Zeus's name?
Is this supposed to be some kind of joke about the gods?
Diana immediately drew her sword and took a step forward.
She was just about to charge down and teach the blasphemer a lesson—
When an incomprehensible incantation suddenly sounded behind her.
A beam of magical light followed immediately afterward.
Diana had been so focused on the Zeus Hotel that she had no time to react.
The spell struck her directly.
There was a loud burst of magical energy.
Her originally tall, graceful body began shrinking rapidly.
An ugly snout pushed out from her beautiful face.
Her pale skin turned pink.
In the blink of an eye, the heroic Wonder Woman had transformed into a plump little pig.
"Hahahaha!"
An evil laugh came from behind her.
"Never thought this day would come, did you?"
"And here I was thinking I'd wasted all that time following you!"
John Constantine stepped out of the darkness.
A smug grin remained plastered across his face.
Clearly, he was extremely pleased with the result.
Wonder Woman, however, had not yet fully realized what had happened to her.
The moment she saw her enemy appear, everything else ceased to matter.
The little pig bared her teeth, kicked furiously at the ground, and charged straight at him.
Constantine simply planted his leather shoe on her and pinned her down.
"Right now, you're nothing more than a little pig!"
Constantine laughed triumphantly.
"No divine power. No magic."
"Trying to fight me like this is just stupid!"
Then he turned toward the shadows behind him.
"Hey!"
"If it was really this easy, why did you insist on having me do it?"
"There isn't some other trick hidden in all this, is there?"
Circe slowly emerged from the darkness.
She looked down with satisfaction at Wonder Woman struggling on the ground.
The enemy who had frustrated her for so many years was finally helpless beneath her feet.
Just seeing Diana reduced to this state improved Circe's mood considerably.
"I was imprisoned in the Underworld for nearly a thousand years."
Circe spoke casually as she happily watched the pig struggling below.
"I was only recently allowed to return to Man's World after making certain promises to the gods."
"One of those promises prevents me from directly attacking the Queen of the Amazons."
She smiled maliciously.
"But that oath says absolutely nothing about arranging for someone else to help me."
Circe looked down at Diana.
"So yes, my dear little princess."
"Let's see whether the Amazon Queen still recognizes her precious daughter after this."
Constantine's eyes shifted.
An opportunistic smile immediately appeared on his face.
"Oh?"
"If I'm understanding this correctly, your release came with certain restrictions."
He grinned.
"For example... perhaps you aren't allowed to directly attack this particular demigod either?"
"Is that why you went to so much trouble to track me down?"
Circe did not answer.
She merely gave Constantine a vicious glare.
Constantine had no intention of stopping.
"In fact, without my help, you would have had a hard time finding someone willing and able to use that scroll against her..."
"What exactly are you trying to say, Constantine?"
Circe's eyes flashed.
"Stop talking in circles!"
For perhaps the first time, Circe began to understand how all those demons and angels who had dealt with Constantine must have felt.
The man standing in front of her was shameless.
Constantine merely shrugged.
"Come on. Fighting Wonder Woman is obviously in both our interests."
He smiled.
"But since I'm the one actually doing the dangerous work, surely a little extra compensation wouldn't be unreasonable..."
Circe's expression darkened.
The two immediately began arguing.
The little pig on the ground seemed to understand what was happening.
She quietly stamped her hooves and climbed back to her feet.
Seeing that her two captors were still too busy arguing over their prize to pay attention to her, Diana seized the opportunity.
She turned around and ran for her life.
The sound of her hooves finally caught their attention.
Constantine and Circe spun around.
Diana was already racing toward the street.
"Don't let Wonder Woman escape!"
Circe shouted.
She had invested far too much effort into this plan to let Diana simply run away now.
She was determined to see her longtime enemy thoroughly defeated.
"You said it!"
Constantine laughed.
"But if I'm doing more work, you're paying me extra!"
At the same time, he decided to show Circe what he could do.
Constantine silently recited an incantation.
A dazzling light erupted from his fingertips.
Immediately afterward, three bolts of lightning shot toward the fleeing pig.
Wonder Woman may have been transformed into a pig and stripped of nearly all her powers, but her intelligence had not disappeared yet.
According to the events of Justice League Unlimited, the transformation would gradually begin affecting her mind as time passed.
Seeing Constantine fire magic at her, Diana did not attempt to dodge.
Instead, she abruptly turned around and crossed her front legs in front of herself.
Although Wonder Woman's body had shrunk, the treasured bracelets around her forelegs had transformed along with her.
The Bracelets of Submission were powerful Amazon artifacts capable of deflecting ranged attacks.
Even though Diana had become a pig, the bracelets themselves had not lost their power.
The three bolts of lightning were about to collide with them—
