The morning was bright but calm when Jay and Jasfer arrived at the Watson mansion.
The car rolled up the long, winding driveway, past the tall gates and the marble pillars that made the house feel more like a palace than a home. Jay's suitcase sat beside her, packed with the few things she needed—and the memories of the home she had grown up in.
She looked out the window, nerves flickering across her calm exterior.
"This… is really happening," she murmured quietly.
Jasfer reached over, resting a hand on hers.
"It's for the best, Jay. You'll see. It'll be different… but good."
The car stopped. The driver stepped down, opening the doors.
Kaizer was already waiting at the entrance, tall, poised, and giving just the faintest smile that said everything was under control.
Serina appeared from the side, her hands extended, her eyes warm.
"Jay," she said softly, "welcome home."
Jay hesitated for a heartbeat before stepping out. The weight of her suitcase felt heavier than usual, but it wasn't just the luggage—it was the shift of her entire world.
Jasfer gave her a small, encouraging nod.
"Go on. You're in good hands."
Keifer, leaning casually by the driveway's stone railing, raised a brow at her. Not a word. Just presence. Just quiet, steady reassurance.
Jay's chest tightened slightly, but she managed a small smile.
"Hi," she said, voice low, careful.
"Hi," he replied, that single word carrying more warmth than she expected.
She rolled her suitcase forward, past the grand doors and into the mansion that had always seemed too big… but today felt like it might finally hold a place for her.
The foyer was familiar in its grandeur, but now it was different. The halls didn't feel like rules and expectations—they felt like space where she could breathe, where she could belong.
Serina stepped closer, guiding her gently.
"Come on, let me show you to your room. You'll love it."
As Jay followed, she glanced over her shoulder at Keifer.
He caught her gaze, giving a small, almost imperceptible nod.
And for the first time, Jay realized—this wasn't just moving into a mansion.
It was moving into a family.
A place where she could finally… be herself.
