The penthouse had settled into its evening quiet, the whole family gathered loosely around the living room after dinner, when Silver rose from his seat and crossed to stand where everyone could see him.
"I watched the three of you spar yesterday," he said, glancing toward Erik, Killian, and Victor. "You're skilled. Disciplined. None of you have trained the way I intend to train this family."
Erik's brow lifted slightly. "Meaning?"
"Meaning starting tomorrow, we train. Every day. Thirty minutes inside the space." Silver's gaze swept the room, settling briefly on each of them in turn. "All of you. Not just the three who sparred yesterday. This entire family needs to be sharper than it currently is, and I intend to see to it personally."
Killian did the math almost instantly, the same silent calculation he suspected Erik and Victor were running simultaneously — thirty minutes real time, against the space's accelerated ratio.
