The mind is a treasure that must be protected. Some people are easily influenced and may lose control over themselves. At times, this can cost them dearly.
Klint showing up at his door in the middle of the night, banging on it and ruining his sleep, had driven Faust insane.
He was calm as a millpond, quiet, chill at least most of the time. When he was hanging out with the brothers, he'd have everyone dying of laughter.
A funny guy without any "friendly" jokes
Who cares if they're offended?...
But he was also the type who got pissed off fast, and his mood could tank just as quick. He'd flare up in a second, then adapt to whatever was going on and roll with it.
Adapting into the mood, sounds like the wonderful ability to have... which can also be a curse to some.
Don't know how though.
The way he felt everything so intensely, how his emotions could flip completely in the blink of an eye and that made him kind of… dangerous but for someone trying to survive in a world full of rivals and many other people aganist him where life was already brutal, that danger was a plus.
The brothers got him, knew him! They'd been together for years, so real problems only cropped up maybe once a year.
Yet strangers weren't so lucky. Were they?
They were usally.
As long as I'm "chill~"
Just hope nothing bad happens but...
Who knows anyway. Life's short.
We ball~
Getting waken up in the middle of the night...
Faust's mind was a mess... His head was a mess...
Can't think straight...
Sleep seemed like the impossible option but he had to didn't he? So he forced it as the man he is.
Yet... Sleeping in a state like that was going to cost him... by a lot.
* * *
Faust was lying in the middle of a forest, only in terms of position. A closer look made it clear, his physical consciousness wasn't exactly home yet.
It all felt weird. It was a nightmare he knew, yes!
But his surroundings... they were saying else.
Everything around him was lush green, packed with apple-heavy trees, colors bright and vivid. Right in the center lay Faust, flat on his back, looking out cold. At his head stood a pitch-black cloud resembling a human-like shape.
Faust's senses could make him see his surroundings even with his eyes closed... and if he had to be honest?
This place couldn't be his imagination. He actually thought it was someone else's nightmare.
Faust had never thought of anything like this before.
Lush green trees?
With bright red apples?
No chaos?
No fight?
Is this really my nightmare? Or is this even a nightmare... my senses are never wrong. I'm sure it is but—what a place!
I mean... Damn!
Looks like heaven.
The only thing that really made this a nightmare was probably the idea that the cloud might do something...dangerous? It sure didn't look so... positive? If it had a good purpose of being there...
He would probably be white or something like that, right? White means pure and good as I remember
Yet it didn't seem to have any intention like that…
The cloud talked with a muffled voice...
"Faust. Wake up, Faust…"
The sound of the cloud was… like the devil whispering into a his ear. It resembled a devil that looked beautiful but was still evil of course.
"Open your eyes, Faust…"
Surely it didn't felt like a mother's lullaby
Huh…?
The voice was getting closer, but it wasn't getting any sharper.
"Get up. It won't take long, don't worry."
What a calm tone...
What could a calm someone possibly want anything from Faust?
Faust could never accept the idea of being woken up again, even within his own dream. A man like Faust; someone who did whatever he wanted no matter how serious the situation was, could only
see this as disrespect and an attack on his own sense of self.
Am I about to get waken up in a dream-like place? Oh hell no!
The sleep felt so sweet
The black cloud didn't have a proper shape, maybe, but there was no doubt it definitely resembled a human; arms, legs, standing about six feet tall. Even if someone somehow couldn't figure out what it was, the movements would make someone think it's a human anyways.
The cloud brought its hands, which it had been holding behind its back, forward. It raised its right hand…
It looked as if it was about to attack. Faust realized what the cloud was about to do before the cloud itself even did. It was going to crush him along with the ground.
The one who has better senses than any animal
He may have looked dead and passed out but...Faust always knew all the dangers waiting for him.
His eyes may be closed but he is no ordinary.
Whoosh!
BAM!
The black cloud slammed its right hand down right where Faust was lying...
Smoke was rising from the crater in the ground, but it wasn't even normal smoke. The cause of it was the cloud moving at extreme speed, which naturally made the speed's own energy generate heat for just a brief moment. If the one who had carried out that attack were a human… there was no doubt their hands would have hurt badly.
Fuu~
Huff...
The cloud's plan was to do something to get him up, but Faust wasn't even there where the blow landed. Just milliseconds before the strike came down, he had already moved out of its range and leapt backward.
Cloud achieved it's goal. "Getting him up" but at what cost?
After the dust and smoke sent flying by the impact of the blow, Faust's pupils gleamed in the daylight like his own nightmare… and it was clear... Faust was not pleased with the situation he was in at all.
He shouted, sending the birds around him flying in fear.
Pulses rise.
Both the cloud and Faust starts to walk towards eachother, the ground shaking with his every step.
Murderous intent flows around Faust...
Huff...
"I just can't take a peaceful nap, I guess... Fine!"
A sudden cough stops Faust.
Khk!—Khk!
He stood fazed while the cloud looked... unfazed? Even without having a face it felt like that to Faust.
What is this...
