Chapter 29 - The Council of Emperors (2)

REAL WORLD — Council of the Emperors

The room was silent.

Heavy.

Every King sat around the massive circular table, lost in thought.

Each of them had only one right.

One request.

Only one.

And yet… none of them truly understood what that meant.

Were the Emperors capable of miracles?

How had they remained at the top of the world for so long?

And above all…

What did they know about the secrets buried beneath reality itself?

One thing was certain.

The world was collapsing.

The people were suffering.

And hope… was fading.

Vorso broke the silence.

— What if I told you… I want to become an Emperor?

Heads turned instantly.

— Do you think that's possible?

Shock spread across the table.

No one laughed.

No one spoke.

Was he joking…?

Or had he truly lost his mind?

The Emperors answered.

Their voices calm.

Absolute.

— You are not worthy.

A pause.

— Not yet.

— You lack experience… and power.

Noic slammed his hand on the table.

— What more could I possibly need?!

His voice echoed through the chamber.

— I already possess all the resources in the world within my kingdom! Why should I rely on you when I am enough on my own?!

A faint chuckle resonated.

— Arrogance.

— What you possess… is nothing compared to the vastness of this world.

Noic leaned back, arms crossed.

— Then I am satisfied.

— I have no request.

The Twins spoke next.

Ayden and Eden, in perfect harmony.

— We wish to allow free migration between kingdoms.

— And to permit mixed descendants among our people.

— The twins born from this union will be purer… stronger.

A silence.

The Emperors exchanged unseen glances.

— Very well.

— This rule will apply to all kingdoms.

Then—

Their tone darkened.

— But remember…

— You were separated for a reason.

— If you accelerate the process…

— You will bear the consequences.

The Goat finally spoke.

— What process are you referring to… Emperors?

His voice was calm.

But firm.

— We are wise enough to rule. Why deny freedom to our people?

A cold response came instantly.

— And you? Why did your kind isolate itself from the world?

— Do you not desire freedom?

The Goat's gaze darkened.

— With all due respect…

You know very well that humans took it from us.

His voice trembled with ancient rage.

— We are nothing but a shadow of what we once were.

— We do not need you.

— Humans are the source of this world's suffering.

Isaac stepped forward.

As always…

He looked confident.

Too confident.

— Then I propose something.

Silence fell.

— The lawless lands.

— Let the Emperors take control of them.

The atmosphere froze.

Those lands were forbidden.

Sacred.

Untouchable.

Since the Great War, no one had the right to step foot there.

Many Kings had tried.

All had failed.

The Emperors replied.

— An interesting request.

— But impossible.

— Those zones are too dangerous.

— And their control would ignite endless conflict.

All eyes turned to Isaac.

So that was his goal.

At the back of the room—

Rasfi collapsed to his knees.

His body trembled.

— Please…

His voice broke.

— Save… my kingdom…

An Emperor spoke gently.

— Acting King…

— You were brave to come here.

— Do not worry.

But suddenly—

Vorso moved.

Fast.

Too fast.

He lunged at Rasfi.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Rasfi's body twisted unnaturally.

Like bones dislocating.

Like flesh… reshaping.

Then—

Explosions of light.

Fireworks filled the room.

Smoke swallowed everything.

The blonde puppet had moved.

Chaos.

Guards prepared to strike.

Kings stood up.

And within the confusion—

Rasfi changed.

His body shifted.

First—

The blonde puppet.

Then—

Vorso.

Then—

Isaac.

Then—

Noic.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Endlessly.

Vorso froze.

— What… is this thing?

He threw his triple-blade knife.

Then an acid paint bomb.

Nothing worked.

Rasfi kept mutating.

Until—

He stabilized.

As Vorso.

Perfectly.

He even copied his stance.

His movements.

His madness.

Then—

He tore off a part of his own body.

And threw it.

Like a blade.

In the shadows—

Augustus watched.

Calm.

Silent.

A candy between his fingers.

One bite—

And he could teleport back to Ccare.

But that wasn't his mission.

The clone…

Had to disappear.

No matter what.

The battle intensified.

Vorso was laughing.

Loud.

Uncontrollable.

— HAHAHA!

— I didn't even bring all my tools… but this will do!

His grin widened.

To an unnatural extent.

Inside his clown nose—

A red smoke bomb.

Lung-burning.

Deadly.

His breath-holding record?

Fourty minutes.

Rasfi tried to speak.

— My… king… dom… save…

His voice glitched.

Broken.

Inhuman.

Vorso flipped through the air.

Dodging everything.

Like a performer.

Like this was art.

Elsewhere—

Noic and his guardian blew open the council doors.

And escaped toward the sea.

The wives of Ayden and Eden moved instantly.

One controlled the winds.

Dispersing the toxic smoke.

The other—

Deflected every projectile.

Her silver blade shining.

The Goat did not move.

Attacks scratched his skin.

Nothing more.

His gaze burned with hatred.

Ancient.

Deep.

For a moment—

He almost stepped forward.

Almost.

But he didn't.

He only watched.

In the smoke—

Augustus advanced.

He transformed.

Into the blonde puppet.

Small.

Unnoticed.

Silent.

Vorso could see nothing anymore.

Only instinct remained.

Augustus reached Rasfi.

Grabbed him.

Bit the candy.

Then—

Touched Isaac's shoulder.

A blinding blue light exploded.

The smoke vanished instantly.

Silence returned.

Only three remained.

The Goat.

The Twins.

Vorso.

And…

Fragments.

Clay pieces scattered across the floor.

Rasfi's body.

Or what was left of it.

The Emperors were gone.

The door—

Destroyed.

Vorso wiped his face.

— Believe me or not…

— That so-called King…

— wasn't normal.

The remaining Kings walked outside.

And froze.

The world beyond…

Was horrifying.

Volcanoes erupting.

Purple lightning tearing the sky apart.

No path.

No escape.

The Goat stared into the distance.

Then whispered—

— So this is…

A Lawless Land.

A faint glow appeared in his eyes.

— Interesting.
