Later that evening, Mira went over to the Northern part of the village.
She quietly stood beside Ray and stared into the horizon, just like him.
She could see how dark the trees were and how much the forest had become silent.
There was no wind and no sound even from the insects.
This indicated that the monsters were truly close now.
Mira sighed deeply and Ray could feel how worried she was, thanks to the bond they shared.
Monsters had killed her parents when she was young, so it made sense for her to be worried about the numbers that would be storming into the village soon and Ray couldn't help but place a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"You know you can stay at the village center right?" Ray didn't want her to stay where the concentration of the monsters would be saturated.
He'd rather have her battling the smaller number of monsters that might pass through their defenses.
That way, Mira wouldn't feel worried about the number of monsters she would face.
