Everyone knew that Professor Cavendish was very strange today, or rather... he was in an excessively good mood.
During the break after the first class in the afternoon, many students encountered him in the castle. He seemed to have encountered something joyous, and even when Professor Hilke, who was new to the castle this year, grabbed his arm, he still excitedly wanted to chat with everyone he knew.
"I wish you a happy day!"
"May your life be blissful!"
"May you have a lifetime of happiness!"
These were the three most common phrases he said after seeing people. Every student he blessed was bewildered, only thanking him with blank expressions.
Just as Hilke was half-dragging, half-pulling Sherlock to the floor where the Hospital Wing was located.
Snape, head held high, having just finished the third-year Potions Class, walked towards them like a large black bat.
Sherlock, shrugging his shoulders and gesticulating wildly with the arm not held by Hilke, saw him, his eyes immediately lit up, and he began waving and shouting from a distance.
"Hi! Severus! My old friend! We haven't seen each other in ages!"
Snape heard Sherlock's voice, his face still cold, and looked at him with an extremely strange gaze.
"What Potion did he take?"
Just as Hilke was hesitating how to explain Sherlock's current condition, Snape already showed an understanding expression, a sneer on his lips.
"So, you drank too much jubilance potion. What are you planning to do, Sherlock...?"
However, his words were not even halfway out when Sherlock struggled, leaned his entire upper body towards Snape, and put an arm around his shoulder.
"Brother! Don't be so cold! I know you're a tsundere, but when you were crying your eyes out in front of me before, I was the one who took you for a drink to comfort you! Be honest, say what's on your mind. If you're so two-faced, you won't live happily!"
Snape was suddenly pulled into such an intimate gesture. After recovering from his initial stunned state, he began to resist violently.
"You idiot! Who said I cried! Let go!"
But even though he had recently started to strengthen his physical training, it was impossible for him to contend with Sherlock's physique in a short period. Moreover, he was half a head shorter than Sherlock, who controlled him firmly with one hand.
"Aha! You old man, are you shy? There are no outsiders here, and I haven't told anyone else about this." Sherlock, full of joy, seemed to suddenly think of something and blinked. "Oh! I think I also told Lily, telling her that the Snape who cried bitterly outside her window back then is actually you now!"
Snape stopped struggling to escape from Sherlock's arm. He instead tried to grab Sherlock's neck, while roaring with a flushed face!
"You bastard!"
"Hey, hey, hey! I'm helping you!"
"I'll strangle you!"
"Ingratitude! The old man is hitting people! The Head of House of Slytherin is beating up a Professor!"
After a bout of chaos, Hilke finally managed to rescue Snape from Sherlock's grasp with great effort.
If she had been a moment later, Snape would have been strangled to death by Sherlock's arm. Sherlock's condition was getting worse, but even if he had turned into a pure-bred idiot, he was still no match for Snape in hand-to-hand combat.
"You shameless old man! Are you bullying me because your position is higher than mine? When Dumbledore comes back, I'll report you to him! "
Even though he had the upper hand, and even though Hilke was forcibly dragging him forward, Sherlock didn't forget to turn back and threaten Snape, as if he were the one who had almost been strangled to death.
Snape also left in a huff, wondering if he would increase his exercise volume again after being unilaterally thrashed by Sherlock for the third time today.
After another strenuous tug for over ten metres and turning a corner, Hilke finally brought Sherlock to the Hogwarts Hospital Wing.
Madam Pomfrey, the school Healer, couldn't help but frown when she saw Sherlock's current state.
"How did he end up like this again?"
In front of a professional doctor, Hilke dared not conceal the cause of Sherlock's illness.
"He used an excessive amount of Patronus Charm and suffered a backlash from positive emotions."
Upon arriving at the Hospital Wing and regaining his freedom, Sherlock finally hopped and skipped to his heart's content, loudly singing the embarrassing Hogwarts school song.
"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts! Please teach us some knowledge, whether we are bald old men or young lads with scarred knees, our heads need to be filled with some interesting things, because now they are empty, full of air, dead flies and trivialities..."
Madam Pomfrey watched Sherlock's performance with a shocked expression.
"How many Patronus Charms did he use? How could it be this severe?"
Hilke also looked at Sherlock's current state with great concern.
"I'm not sure of the exact number, but it should be over two hundred."
"Two hundred! Are you kidding me!" Madam Pomfrey muttered, "You must help me control him; I need to examine his condition!"
Hilke nodded, then grabbed Sherlock's hand.
Although Sherlock, whose hand was caught, was still gesticulating, he obediently followed her to the Hospital Wing's examination room.
Madam Pomfrey studied Sherlock for a long time, her brows furrowing and relaxing, before finally putting down her wand and sighing.
"Indeed, the Patronus Charm was severely overused. This is beyond what a normal Wizard can endure. Any other Wizard would have gone mad by now, but Sherlock is merely experiencing an overflow of emotions."
Saying that, she looked at Hilke with a serious expression.
"I don't know what you two were doing, or why you used such an excessive amount of Patronus Charm, but his condition is very dangerous. I can tell that after he noticed his emotions were off, he already used a large amount of sorrow potion to correct it, but instead of suppressing the emotions, it caused an even stronger rebound."
"If this situation becomes chronic, even if his mental strength far exceeds that of ordinary people, there will eventually be a day when he can't hold on!"
Hilke's face seemed unchanged, but her hands were tightly clenched into fists within the sleeves of her robes.
"I will watch over him from now on and won't let him use such an excessive amount of Patronus Charm again."
Madam Pomfrey shook her head helplessly.
"Your watching is no use. When he returns to normal, I will remind him again. Now he still needs to take a lot of sorrow potion; these emotions must be suppressed and not rebound again."
