Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Initial Acquaintances And Trade

Takeru had also noticed that this Reincarnation Space seemed somewhat different from what he knew from his previous life.

Compared to other versions, this space wasn't just good… it could be called downright generous...

After all, it started them off with a game world for adaptation. Regarding the death penalty, upon closer inspection, Takeru found that one would only truly die after failing a Reincarnation Mission five times.

Of course, each death still carried a penalty: the first death permanently reduced all attributes by ten points, the second by twenty, the third by forty...

So, if someone thought they could act recklessly because they had second chances, true death wouldn't be far off.

Permanent attribute reduction, especially in certain stats, could easily render someone useless in daily life, creating a vicious cycle...

"Takeru-kun, this is my older brother, Doma Taihei. He chose the Knight class in Miracle and received an E-Rank evaluation!"

"These are Hirasawa Yui and Hirasawa Ui. Their chosen classes there were Mage and Assassin, with a D-Rank evaluation!"

"This is Yukinoshita Yukino, who also chose Mage. And this is Takanashi Rikka, Mage..."

As Umaru continued the introductions, Takeru gained a preliminary understanding of everyone and became more aware of their situations.

This world was a fused anime multiverse, something Takeru had already deduced.

However, the identities or personalities of many familiar characters had changed slightly.

For instance, when Takeru was selecting a light novel to 'borrow', he had specifically researched to ensure certain elements didn't exist.

After confirming there was no prodigy like Shiina Mashiro or a Suimei University of the Arts affiliated high school, he felt safe publishing that light novel. He had even changed character names for good measure.

"It's nice to meet you all. I am Nara Takeru, also about to be a student at Sobu High. You can call me Takeru. I chose the NewWorld Online world, and my class is Great Shield. My evaluation this time was C-Rank..."

Shaking his head to dismiss further thoughts, Takeru briefly introduced himself, though he downgraded his B-Rank evaluation to C-Rank when mentioning it.

"So impressive!" Upon hearing Takeru's words, Yui immediately looked at him with admiration. They had only gotten their D-Rank through luck, and they had witnessed how outstanding Umaru's performance in the game was, yet she also only received a D-Rank evaluation...

Umaru herself looked at Takeru with surprise upon hearing he got a C-Rank.

Facing everyone's gaze, Takeru remained calm and composed.

"By the way, I wonder if any of you obtained consumable items or equipment in that world. Perhaps we could engage in some trade," Takeru suddenly suggested.

Hearing this, the group fell silent. Their harvests had been modest, and what little they had was barely enough for themselves, let alone having surplus for trade.

"May I ask what Takeru-kun has available for trade?" Yukino inquired directly.

"For my part," Takeru said, producing ten Mana Recovery Potions and ten Health Recovery Potions.

"And also this," He added, taking out the Dire Wolf Necklace.

Since the beginner's great shield and short sword were system-starting gifts, the Reincarnation Space had not manifested them for the group.

"So many potions!" Everyone was stunned upon seeing the potions, and they looked at the Dire Wolf Necklace with envy.

After all, each person here only had one or two very ordinary pieces of equipment, let alone accessory-type gear...

"While we are very interested in trading with you, Takeru-kun, I doubt many here have items of equivalent value," Yukino said with a sigh.

Everyone wanted the Dire Wolf Necklace for its +5 Spirit and +5 Strength, but it likely wouldn't be cheap.

Equipment was especially crucial at the beginning, as it could very well impact their performance in the next Reincarnation Mission.

No one had forgotten that the next mission wouldn't be as simple as this initial one, or even if it was easy, subsequent ones would grow increasingly difficult. Seizing every opportunity to grow stronger was their current priority.

"Is that so? Then, are Health Potions and Mana Potions needed? I just checked, and although the Reincarnation Space offers them, they cost 150 points each. I'm offering them for 100 points here."

"Moreover, these items can be manifested into the real world. They might even rapidly heal serious injuries," Takeru continued, putting the necklace away.

Hearing this, the group was tempted. The Miracle World also had various potions, like recovery potions that restored 5 HP per second for 10 seconds or mana potions that restored 3 MP per second for three seconds.

However, they had largely exhausted their supplies during the game, as earning gold in Miracle was quite difficult...

"I'll buy two bottles, one of each," Yukino stated seriously. She had received a D-Rank evaluation worth 1,000 points. Buying two potions for 200 points left her with 800. She mainly wanted to test the item's effects in the real world.

"We'll also buy two bottles," Ui suddenly spoke up. Compared to Yukino, she and her sister had a combined 2,000 points, so two bottles weren't a problem.

With these offers, Takeru promptly completed the transactions with them...
