Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Eternal Watch

Chapter 18: The Eternal Watch

The time had come.

Krishak stood in the deepest chamber of the Observation Tower, surrounded by the ancient symbols he had carved decades ago. The Origin energy buried within his soul pulsed with increasing urgency, calling him back to the void, back to the journey he had interrupted.

But he could not leave Earth unprotected. Not after everything he had built. Not after the hope he had kindled in humanity's heart.

He had considered many options. He could appoint a successor, trust the systems he had established, and hope for the best. But the world was fragile, and humanity was still young. They could easily lose their way, falling back into the cycles of greed and desire that had plagued them for millennia.

No, he needed a more permanent solution.

He had spent weeks contemplating the technique—a method of soul division that he had learned in the Heavenly Universe. It was dangerous, requiring immense spiritual power and perfect control. One mistake could shatter his consciousness forever.

But Krishak was no ordinary cultivator. He was a celestial being reborn, and he had achieved the Emperor tier. He was ready.

He sat in meditation, his mind reaching inward. He located the core of his soul, the brilliant spark that contained his consciousness and memories. With painstaking precision, he began to separate it—splitting a fragment of his spirit, a sliver of his being.

The pain was excruciating. It felt as though his very essence was being torn apart. But he endured it, his will unshakable.

When the process was complete, a second Krishak sat beside him—identical in appearance, but slightly less radiant. This was the clone, a fragment of his soul given independent existence.

"You know your purpose," Krishak said to his clone.

"I do," the clone replied, his voice a perfect echo. "I will watch over this world. I will ensure that humanity stays on the right path. I will guide them when necessary, but I will never interfere in their decisions."

"The cultivation techniques for King and Emperor tier," Krishak continued. "You have them."

"I do. I will only release them to those who have reached the Grandmaster level. They must earn the right to ascend."

Krishak nodded, satisfied. "And your strength?"

"I am at the peak of King tier," the clone said. "But I can cultivate independently. I will continue to grow, to gain insights. One day, I may even reach Emperor tier. Perhaps even Saint."

Krishak smiled. "Good. That will be more than enough to protect this world."

---

Before he left, Krishak had one more task to complete. He had always believed that the potential for cultivation existed in all living beings—not just humans. Animals, birds, even plants possessed spiritual energy, waiting to be awakened.

He traveled to the forests, the mountains, the oceans. He found creatures of exceptional intelligence and vitality—eagles that soared above the peaks, wolves that roamed the wilderness, dolphins that swam the deep. He touched them, channeling a fraction of his spiritual energy into their bodies.

He did not teach them cultivation in the traditional sense. Instead, he awakened their latent potential, allowing them to sense and absorb spiritual energy naturally. Over time, they would grow stronger, more intelligent, more aware.

One day, perhaps, they would become guardians of the natural world, protectors of the balance that humanity had worked so hard to restore.

The world will need its guardians, he thought. Not just human ones.

---

The day of Krishak's departure arrived. Only his five original disciples—Raj, Rahul, Vikas, and two others—knew of his plan. They gathered in the Observation Tower, their faces filled with sorrow and pride.

"Master, must you go?" Raj asked, his voice thick with emotion.

Krishak placed a hand on his disciple's shoulder. "I must, Raj. My journey is not yet complete. There is a greater purpose calling me, a destiny I must fulfill."

"But what about us? What about the world you built?"

Krishak smiled, his eyes warm. "The world you will continue to build. I have given you the tools, the knowledge, the systems. Now, you must carry on the work. You, and the generations that follow."

He looked at each of them, meeting their eyes.

"I have left a clone behind—a fragment of my soul. He will watch over this world, guide it when necessary. He will ensure that humanity does not lose its way. But he will not interfere in your decisions. This world is yours now."

The disciples bowed, their hearts heavy but determined.

"We will not fail you, Master," Raj said.

"I know you won't," Krishak replied. "I have always believed in you."

---

The clone stepped forward, his presence identical to Krishak's in every way. "I will be here," he said. "Watching. Guiding. Protecting. If you need me, you have only to call."

The disciples nodded, accepting the clone's presence. It was strange, seeing their master standing beside himself. But they understood the necessity.

"Take care of them," Krishak said to his clone.

"I will," the clone replied. "They are my disciples too."

Krishak smiled, then turned to face the horizon. The void called to him, a distant whisper that grew louder with each passing moment.

"It is time," he said.

He walked to the edge of the Observation Tower and stepped off.

The disciples rushed to the railing, watching as their master's body began to glow with golden light. He rose into the air, ascending toward the heavens, his form growing smaller and smaller until it disappeared among the stars.

The clone stood beside them, his eyes fixed on the same point in the sky.

"He will return," the clone said softly. "One day, when his journey is complete, he will return."

Raj turned to the clone, his eyes glistening. "And until then?"

The clone smiled—a warm, reassuring smile that was so like Krishak's. "Until then, we continue the work. We build the future. We protect the dream."

---

The world continued to evolve. Cultivation spread across the globe, transforming humanity in ways Krishak had envisioned. The Guardian program expanded, training new generations of warriors to protect the peace.

The clone watched from the shadows, intervening only when necessary. He sensed everything—every act of kindness, every moment of cruelty, every step forward and backward. He guided, he inspired, but he never controlled.

And sometimes, when he found a child of exceptional talent—a young soul with the potential to become something extraordinary—he would appear to them. He would offer them guidance, teach them the secrets of cultivation, and set them on the path to greatness.

The animals he had awakened also grew. Eagles soared with newfound intelligence, wolves moved with supernatural grace, dolphins sang songs of ancient wisdom. They became the guardians of the natural world, protecting the balance that humanity had worked so hard to restore.

The world was changing, evolving, growing. The seeds that Krishak had planted were bearing fruit.

And somewhere, far beyond the stars, Krishak continued his journey. The Origin energy pulsed within him, guiding him toward his destiny. He would build his new universe, create his perfect world.

But a part of him would always remain on Earth—the clone, the fragment of his soul, the eternal watch.

Humanity, he thought, as he traveled through the void, you are my greatest creation. My proudest achievement. Whatever happens, wherever I go, I will always carry you in my heart.

The stars stretched before him, infinite and unknown.

And Krishak, the celestial architect, continued his journey.

The story was far from over.
