Chapter 34 - Double Down on Good Deeds

Quinn Ye wasn't sure if the Song father and son were truly enlightened or not.

But he knew his life was likely saved.

"Mm, it is good that you are enlightened."

Quinn nodded.

At this moment, the Song father and son truly looked like disciples who had entered Buddhism, their faces full of piety.

They looked at Quinn as if he were a god.

"Master, we truly committed too many sins before."

"Yes, Master, please give us more guidance."

"Master, why don't we take you as our teacher?"

"Master, why aren't you speaking?"

...

The Song father and son surrounded Quinn, calling him "Master" with every breath.

It made Quinn a bit overwhelmed.

"There is no need to accept disciples. You just need to remember my words: chant the Heart Sutra daily, and your sinful obstacles will naturally be eliminated."

Quinn said with a peaceful face.

"Thank you, Master! Thank you, Master!"

The father and son bowed repeatedly.

"Then this poor monk... ah no, I will take my leave now."

"We will see the Master off!"

"Nonsense! We should escort the Master back to Cloud-Drifting Mountain!"

Quinn: "..."

And so.

Quinn was respectfully escorted back to Cloud-Drifting Mountain by the Song father and son. On the way, they kept asking Quinn about Buddhist Dharma.

Quinn knew jack about Buddhism.

He could only rely on his mouth to make things up, saying some ambiguous and specious words.

Anyway, in Quinn's view, isn't Buddhism all about saying ambiguous and specious things?

Arriving at Cloud-Drifting Mountain, Quinn waved to the Song father and son.

"You go back. Remember to chant the scriptures more and do more good deeds."

"We will remember the Master's teachings!"

The father and son bowed in unison.

"Mm, farewell."

Quinn went up the mountain.

The Song father and son returned to the Song Residence with joy.

That night, the Song father and son set up a Buddhist Hall in the mansion.

They even specially commissioned a Golden Buddha Statue, and the face of the statue was Quinn's face.

They directly worshiped Quinn as a Buddha.

If Quinn knew this, he would probably vomit blood on the spot out of anger.

The Song father and son chanted the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra all night in the Buddhist Hall. The sound of their chanting echoed throughout the entire Song family estate.

They were too pious.

The next day.

Although the Song father and son hadn't slept all night, they felt their minds were clear and refreshed as never before.

"Father, I feel so comfortable."

"Son, Father feels very comfortable too."

The father and son smiled at each other.

To resolve their own karma, the Song father and son decided to follow Quinn's words and do more good deeds.

The father and son took the Song family martial artists out.

To see where they were needed to do good.

When the surrounding commoners saw the Song family coming, they all hid quickly, daring not to approach the Song family members at all.

Seeing this situation, the Song father and son were extremely ashamed.

"It seems that we father and son truly did too many evil deeds in the past."

The father and son determined to correct their past mistakes and never do any evil again.

"Father, look at that old woman. Does she want to cross the river?"

Drake Song pointed to an old woman standing by the river not far away.

Xander Song looked and his eyes lit up immediately.

"You are right, son. That old woman definitely wants to cross the river. Go help her quickly."

"On it!"

Drake rushed to the riverbank.

"Old lady, you want to cross the river, right? No need to worry, I'll help you."

Drake was full of enthusiasm. Without explanation, he directly picked up the old woman, circulated his spiritual energy, and walked on the water.

In just a few steps.

He arrived at the opposite bank of the river.

After putting down the bewildered old woman, Drake even helped her tidy her clothes.

"Old lady, no need to thank me. This is what I should do."

Drake waved his hand and left proudly.

"Ah, it feels so good to do good deeds!"

Drake was full of pride, feeling as if his whole being had ascended.

Only then did the old woman recover from her shock.

"That damn bastard! I just came from over there! Why did he carry me back?"

The old woman cursed loudly.

...

The Song father and son continued to look for the next target for their benevolence.

Soon, they saw several children playing together.

They were all seven or eight years old, chasing and playing around a water well, looking very happy.

"Father, look quickly. These children are playing by the well. It's too dangerous. What if they fall in?"

Drake said with a worried look.

Xander nodded repeatedly.

"You are right. It is indeed too dangerous. We must help these poor children."

After speaking, Xander walked over.

"Children, step back a little."

Xander said with a kind face.

The children didn't understand, but seeing Xander dressed extraordinarily and wearing a strange smile, they were terrified and scattered in an instant.

"These children are really cute."

Xander smiled, then circulated his spiritual energy.

Rumble!!!

A large chunk of earth nearby flew up into the air.

Xander waved his arm, and the earth directly filled the well in front of him completely flat.

"Mm, this way, we don't have to worry about the children falling into the well when they play."

Xander turned and left with satisfaction.

"Another good deed done. If the Master knew, he would surely praise us father and son."

Not long after, some men from the village came with buckets to fetch water.

Only to see.

The well was filled.

"Who the hell filled our village's well?"

"Simply rotten to the core!"

"May they be struck by heavenly lightning!"

...

Several days later.

The reputation of the Song father and son doing "good deeds" had spread.

However, whenever the commoners saw the Song father and son coming out to do good, they hid even faster than before.

It could be said that wherever they went, not even a chicken dared to stay behind.

The Song father and son looked at the fleeing commoners and felt very strange.

"Why do people seem to dislike us even more than before?"

Xander was puzzled.

Drake frowned: "It must be that we haven't done enough good deeds yet. We should double down on our efforts!"

"Son, you are right. Increase the intensity!"

One day, Quinn was drying Sweet Potatoes.

Although not many, they were all planted and harvested by Quinn himself.

Not far away, someone ran over in a panic.

"Hmm?"

Quinn couldn't help but look.

The person was dirty and unkempt, a beggar.

But it wasn't Finn Guo whom Quinn knew.

"Are you Quinn Ye?"

The beggar didn't look old, only about ten years old. He asked breathlessly as soon as he arrived.

"I am. Who are you?"

Quinn asked in confusion.

The beggar gasped for air, looking anxious.

"Something happened to Finn Guo."

Quinn's expression changed.

"What happened to him?"

"Last night, a man in black clothes took Finn away."

Quinn's heart sank.

Could it be that Finn encountered the Evil Cultivators that Bella Bai mentioned?

"Do you know where he was taken?"

Quinn asked quickly.

"Not sure, but the man in black went towards the East."
