Chapter 61 - Chapter: The Engagement Shift

The fluorescent lights flickered softly over Aisle 3 as the store opened for the morning shift. The hum of the refrigerators and the distant squeak of the automatic doors were the only sounds… for now.

Bella sat behind the counter, phone in hand, still blinking at the message that had upended her life yesterday. She had been engaged to a stranger—a man she barely knew—and now Garruk, the ever-stalwart warrior and dependable ally, had confessed his feelings and asked her to be engaged to him instead.

Her mind raced, heart thumping with every passing second. She glanced down at the neatly stacked energy drinks, chips, and candy bars in front of her, as though they could offer any kind of guidance.

Vario appeared from the snack aisle, leaning casually against the shelves with his usual mix of curiosity and apprehension. "So… are we doing this? Are you saying yes?" he asked, his tone slightly teasing, though his eyes betrayed a genuine interest in her response.

Bella's hands tightened around her phone. She looked over at Garruk, who stood a few feet away, broad-shouldered and imposing, yet there was a vulnerability in his expression she hadn't expected. His eyes held patience and hope, something she realized she had never truly noticed until now.

Nyx, perched on a stack of soda boxes with her tablet already recording, whispered excitedly, "This is perfect content. Day two of the Engagement Saga… we're going live!"

Bella groaned, swatting the tablet away. "Nyx! Not now!"

Garruk stepped closer. "Bella, I know this is sudden, and yesterday was chaotic enough without me adding to it, but I can't stay silent. I've watched over you, trained beside you, fought beside you. I care about you more than anyone else."

Bella felt her chest tighten. She remembered all the times Garruk had silently protected the store during minor disasters, the way he always ensured the aisles were safe from collapsing boxes, and even the moments he subtly defused Nyx's pranks before they got out of hand.

Her gaze shifted to Vario, who gave her a small, understanding nod. "Do what feels right," he said softly.

Taking a deep breath, Bella finally set her phone down. "Garruk… I… I accept."

Garruk's eyes widened in surprise for a fraction of a second before a grin broke across his face. "Really?"

Bella nodded, cheeks slightly flushed. "Yes. I think… I want to be with you. Not a stranger I met yesterday. Not someone random. I want to be with you."

Nyx clapped her hands gleefully, pointing the camera at the pair. "Moment captured! Legendary romance in the snack aisle!"

Gallo, who had been quietly rearranging protein bars in the next aisle, muttered to himself, "Chaos level: officially critical."

Hadid Varro, quietly stocking shelves near the back, raised an eyebrow. "Engaged… already? This store truly is a battlefield of hearts and sanity."

Bella's hands trembled slightly as she reached for Garruk's. His massive hand engulfed hers, warm and reassuring. The store felt surreal for a moment—the fluorescent lights, the humming fridges, the clatter of cans in the background—all fading away until it was just them.

"You've made me the happiest man alive," Garruk said, his deep voice full of sincerity. "I promise to protect you, support you, and make every day we share better than the last."

Bella smiled, feeling the weight of yesterday's chaos lift. "I… I believe you. And I want that too."

Nyx, still filming, whispered, "This is going to break the internet… if anyone knew this happened in a convenience store."

Vario leaned back against the shelves, smiling to himself. "Looks like Aisle 3 has officially survived another level of absurdity… but now with romance added to the mix."

Gallo muttered to himself, finishing a protein bar. "Chaos will never end… but perhaps this is a manageable kind."

Hadid Varro, still watching silently, shook his head with a faint smile. "Engagements… alliances… romance. Perhaps there's more to this store than mere inventory."

And so, in the aisles of snacks, canned goods, and energy drinks, a new chapter of life began for Bella and Garruk—one full of love, laughter, and the inevitable chaos that only Heroes on Aisle 3 could provide.

The automatic doors jingled softly as the morning sun streamed in. Outside, the world continued, unaware of the small miracle that had just unfolded in the middle of a convenience store.

Aisle 3 would never be the same again.
