Third Person Pov
The report landed on the table with a soft, almost insignificant sound. Samael stared at it. For several seconds, he did not move. The candle beside him burned steadily, its flame throwing long shadows across the dark chamber. Outside, rain tapped against the tall windows of the royal palace, but inside the room, everything was unnaturally still.
He picked up the report again. He read the same sentence for the third time.
The Alpha and the human have grown considerably closer.
His fingers tightened around the parchment. Another line sat beneath it.
The Alpha no longer treats her as a temporary mate. He protects her publicly. He spends considerable time with her. The human has been seen entering his private quarters.
Samael's jaw clenched. He slowly lowered the parchment.
"Hades."
The name left his mouth like a curse. He had given his nephew an order not suggestion or advice.
An order.
