Just then, something else hit me. I had called Delilah earlier and she had not returned my calls. A wave of worry passed through me. I quickly brought out my phone from my pocket and checked the screen.
No network.
"No… no," I muttered, lifting the phone high into the air as if that would magically bring back the signal. I moved it from side to side, my heart beating faster. What if she had tried to call me? What if something was wrong and my number was not going through?
"There is no network here for now," Zane said gently. "Do not stress yourself. Are you expecting a call?"
"Yes. My aunt," I answered, my shoulders dropping. I suddenly felt tired. Everything around me felt heavy. Nothing seemed to go right anymore. Every day came with a new problem. "Maybe I will call her tomorrow."
"You will," he said with confidence. "Mr. Frost will fix this by tomorrow."
"Alright," I sighed and slipped my phone back into my pocket, though my mind was still with Delilah.
