The clash of wills
Kuro violently wrenched his arm away from Haiku's grip. His eyes were ablaze with fury.
"Who do you think you are, Haiku?"kuro roared." You think I don't know Emma ? You think I don't understand her?".
Haiku's voice remained deathly cold."If you actually knew her, you wouldn't be putting her through this. I have nothing more to say to you. Get out of here... Now!"
With a look of pure disdain, kuro shoved Haiku back, snatched his phone and notebook, and stormed out of the house.
Shadows of the past
A short while later, the house grew eerily quite. Haiku sat alone at the dining table, his head buried in his hands as tears began to fall.
"Why, Jack? Why are you doing this?"Haiku whispered into the empty room."first, you targeted Deccan... and now this
He suddenly went rigid, forcing himself to stop."no," he muttered, wiping his eyes."I can't let myself go there. I wan't think about it".
[The scene shift]
Kuro's phone vibrated. It was Jack."l'm
Sorry", Jack's voice come through,uncharacteristically soft."I didn't realize Haiku was with you".
Kuro's grip tightened on the phone."what are you apologizing for ?. And why am I even still talking to you?"
The classroom storm
The next morning arrived with heavy grey clouds. Emma was pacing like a caged animal."my work isn't done! What have I done? I have to finish it!"
Haiku sighed, looking toward Angel ."please come down the 'Queen.' tell her I've already taken care of her work".
The relief on Emma's face was instantaneous."thank you, Haiku!"she exclaimed, har anxiety finally ebbing away.
However, the mood soured as they worked toward School. EMMA worked several paces ahead, while kuro and Haiku trailed behind in a thick, suffocating silence, shooting daggers at each other with every glance.
Emma glanced back, thinking to herself,"they were fine just a minute ago. What on both happened now?"
The intruder: Haruto
The school bell rang with a sharp clang."No! I'm late!"Emma cried, dashing towards her classroom.
Inside, miss kim stood at the front with a stranger."class, we have a new transfer student today. His name is haruto."
Emma slumped in her seat, annoyed: "Another one? Is this school a shelter home? Why do they jump every transfer student in our class?'
Haiku couldn't help but chuckle at emma's visible frustration. Miss Kim's eyes snapped to him immediately."Haiku! Since you find this so amusing, you can move to the very backseat!"
Haiku muttered a protest,"I wan't laugh again..."but has We moved, he snapped his pen in a half with loud crack."who does she think she is?"
Then come the final blow. Miss kim looked at then newcamer."haruto go ahead and sit next to Emma".
Emma's jow dropped.' first she moves Haiku, and now she puts this guy here?'
The trigger
Miss kim announced A surprise math test, sending the class into the panic. Emma stared at the paper, frozen. Haruto leaned in attemping to whisper on answer to help her, but Haiku lunged forward from the back and ripped haruto's paper to shreds.
Emma fumed. 'Whenever someone tries to help, he stops them, yet he won't help me himself!'
But the frustration truned into the nightmare in a split second. Haruto trying to be friendly, used the word"sister"while speaking to her.
The word hit Emma like a physical blow. Her trauma triggered instantly. Her face drained of color, blood began to trickle from her mouth, and in a fit of agony and loss of control, she slammed her head hard against the desk.
"Emma!"Haiku screamed. He charged forward grabbing haruto by the collar and throwing him across the room like a rogdoll. He reached Emma, but she was spiraling, completely unreachable
"Call Angel kuro here. Now!" Haiku's voice echoed through the hallway.
Kuro skidded into the room,face pole.
"Emma! What's happening?"
Email look the up with glazed eyes, whispering,"brother... I am scared."
"Don't worry,"kuro said, his voice trembling with protective rage."I'm taking you home.
The warning of the lions
While Emma was being treated in the medical room, Haiku cornered Kuro.
"This is haruto's fault."
"I'll handle him,"kuro growled.
"Just talk to him,"Haiku warned."don't touch him. Emma made us promise."
Kuro approached haruto, leaning in so close their foreheads almost touched. He whispered with a deadly venom:
"I know you love my sister. I know you've been stalking her. If you ever -and I mean ever -come near her again, you wan't leave this place alive".
Flashback:
The night before, Jack's voice had warned kuro over the phone:"there's a boy stalking her. His name is haruto. I have already pulled his entire file."
Present:
The 'monster' and 'Angel'-The secret guardians-stood in the shadows, laughing. Kuro walked over to them. One of the monster stepped toword the trembling haruto
"He isn't the only one watching you,"the monster sneered." I'm here too. Twinkle ,Twinkle...you'll find out the rest of the rhym soon enough.
Angel stepped up last, placing a delicate hand on haruto 's shoulder with a chilling smile."first there was only one... Now there are two. But if you want even realize when these two turned into ten".
Haruto stood paralyzed his heart hammering against his ribs."how do they know? How do they know everything?".
