Peter stood rigid at the edge of the battlefield, every muscle in his body tense, eyes flashing.
Without realizing it, he had been dragged into Ash's uniquely fiery rhythm of battle.
That familiar, burning excitement—
the same thrill he used to feel watching Pokémon battles back in his previous life—had returned in full force.
At this moment, Peter had cast aside all tactics and calculations.
He only wanted one thing—
To end this battle fairly, cleanly, and gloriously.
On the other side of the field, Ash Ketchum launched another assault.
"Pikachu! Finish it—Thunderbolt!!!"
"Pi. Ka. CHUUU—!"
"Buneary, use Dig—huh?"
Peter was just about to order Dig to evade the damage when he froze.
A familiar glow flared up around Buneary once again—
the light of rising speed.
With a sudden blur, it vanished from its original position, cleanly dodging the weakened Thunderbolt!
"This is—?!"
Peter's heart skipped violently.
In a daze, he seemed to hear something shatter.
Buneary turned its head and looked straight at him.
Their eyes met.
And in the next instant—
A dazzling white light swallowed Buneary whole!
"Buzz—!"
Every ray of light in the entire arena seemed to converge on that single spot.
Radiance exploded outward, intertwining shadows and brilliance in breathtaking waves.
"It's evolving!" Brock shouted in shock.
"Huh? Is that strange?" Dawn asked, confused.
"Buneary's evolution requires extremely high compatibility and friendship with its Trainer," Brock explained.
"That means… Peter has already achieved that level of bond."
Roark continued, eyes locked on the tall figure standing proudly at the edge of the field.
"For a rookie Trainer… someone who hasn't even been traveling for two months yet…"
His heart refused to calm down.
At last, the white light slowly faded.
And a brand-new Pokémon stood where Buneary once was.
The once small, cute body had grown several times larger—tall and slender.
The creamy fur that once covered its belly had mostly vanished, remaining only around the wrists and lower legs.
Wing-shaped tufts of fur formed its brows, fluttering gently in the air.
A pair of ears nearly as long as its entire height drooped naturally along its sides.
Soft pink eyes, a cute rabbit mouth, and a delicate nose—
Standing there was Buneary's evolution—
Lopunny.
A Pokémon that perfectly combined power and speed, elegance and cuteness.
"Mi-lo~… (Master~)"
Lopunny let out a soft cry, stretching its limbs slightly, clearly still adjusting to its new form.
"Congratulations, Buneary… no—Lopunny," Peter said, his voice thick with emotion.
The joy and bond surging in his heart intertwined, spilling out as a smile he couldn't suppress.
"Now then—let me see your new power!
High Jump Kick!!!"
Ash tensed immediately.
"Be careful, Pikachu! Iron Tail—counter it!"
"WHOOSH—BANG!!!"
Before the words even finished echoing, a violent gust of wind tore through the arena.
Lopunny appeared behind Pikachu.
At some point, several fine cracks had formed across the ground at the center of the field—
And at their intersection, Pikachu was already lying motionless.
"Pikachu is unable to battle!" Roark announced loudly.
"The winner is Peter and Lopunny!"
With that declaration, the battle finally came to an end.
"Mi-lo~!"
Gone was Lopunny's fierce battle aura. With a few light hops, it pounced straight onto Peter, knocking him flat as its soft pink tongue eagerly licked his face.
"Hahaha—alright, alright! You've grown up already, don't be so clingy~"
Peter laughed helplessly, lying on the ground as he rubbed its head.
"Mi-lo~ (Master, I want something tasty!)"
"Alright, today you can eat as much as you want!"
Peter took out Moomoo Milk and Pokéblocks while tending to its injuries.
At that moment, Ash walked over.
"That was amazing, Peter. I lost this time—but next time, I'll definitely win it back!"
Peter looked up and smiled.
"I'll be waiting for that."
...
After saying goodbye to Ash and the others, Peter held Indeedee in his arms and gently took Lopunny's hand as they headed back to the Pokémon Center.
Both a newly evolved Pokémon and a freshly hatched one needed full checkups.
As he walked, Peter's smile never faded—not because he had beaten Ash, but because Lopunny's evolution had given him a massive surprise.

Description:
A Lopunny that evolved in response to its Trainer's trust and bond. Possesses once-in-a-generation perfect talent. Upon evolution, it awakened additional inherited moves, and its Speed Boost Ability advanced even further.
…
Nearly Level 30 straight after evolution!
Talent instantly capped.
An absurdly specialized stat spread—Speed 130!
Friendship skyrocketed.
And it learned a horrifying set of "unorthodox" moves…
Guaranteed flinch with Fake Out,
high confusion chance with Sweet Kiss,
a devastating Focus Punch,
status-reflecting Magic Coat,
and special-attack nightmare Mirror Coat…
Without question, with pre-allocated talents, Lopunny had now become the true all-rounder of Peter's team!
Attack? Yes.
Speed? Absolutely.
Control? Plenty.
Anything else?
Looks.
And Mirror Coat perfectly compensated for its lack of ranged special offense.
Low Special Attack? No problem.
I'll just reflect yours—at double damage.
As long as the opponent's HP wasn't more than twice its own—
There was always a risk of being reflected to death.
Peter was already imagining Lopunny tearing through future battles.
"Mi-lo? (Master… are you broken?)"
Lopunny shook his arm lightly.
It felt like its Trainer had short-circuited—
smiling a bit too stupidly.
"Ah… I'm fine," Peter said, wiping away nonexistent drool as he led them into the Pokémon Center.
After handing Lopunny and Indeedee over to Nurse Joy for checkups, Peter opened the system panel.
…..
[Ding! Over-tier battle victory. Gained Universal Talent Points ×10!]
[Ding! Gained Pikachu's recognition. Reward: Master Points ×10!]
[Ding! Main Quest 'Third Partner' completed. Obtained held items: Power Lens, Heat Rock!]
[New Main Quest 'Perfect Lineup' unlocked. Please check the mission panel…]
[Ding! Fully evolved, max-talent Pokémon detected. Talent system updated—partners may now exceed species limits!]
…
System notifications rang nonstop for nearly half a minute before Peter finally snapped back to reality.
And then—
Pure, uncontrollable joy.
He opened his inventory and began using the rewards one by one.
First, he allocated the Talent Points to Indeedee.
As his ideal special attacker, he dumped all 10 points straight into Special Attack—
pushing it to 105, officially breaking into triple digits!
The Master Points were just enough for another draw.
Peter didn't hesitate.
No hoarding.
He opened the gacha panel—
And pulled again.
The journey was only getting started.
