Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: The Power of the Gap

A few seconds later, she pointed toward an unremarkable hill in the distance.

"The target is over there!"

The three of them quickly flew over the hill in the direction Remilia pointed. Before they could even steady themselves, spells swept up from below, covering the sky and earth.

"Oh ho, so these are the spells of this world?"

With a wave of Yukari Yakumo's hand, a Gap rift appeared beneath their feet. The incoming spells were all swallowed by the Gap, not affecting the three above in the slightest.

Below, Count Miles was currently asking those beside him what had happened. Why would Flandre Scarlet, his primary target marked for death, fly out of "the power ship"? Where were the people on the power ship? What about all the backup plans he had arranged? And who were the two standing next to Flandre Scarlet?

"Reporting to your Lordship, there is no response to the messages we sent to the power ship. Perhaps..." The person beside him looked at the three standing in the sky, his eyes filled with terror.

"What 'perhaps'? There are no 'perhaps'! I want more precise information! What on earth happened?!"

Count Miles looked up again and found all three of them staring at him; his scalp couldn't help but tingle. Before he could even run, the ground beneath his feet suddenly vanished. Amidst the exclamations of others, he fell into a pitch-black hole filled with eyes.

The next second, his screams echoed from the sky. Everyone looked up to see that Count Miles had appeared high in the air. At this moment, many of the spells being fired from all directions exploded around him. Before Flandre Scarlet could even make a move, he was blown into a ragdoll by the Casters' spells... For a moment, both groups above and below fell into silence.

"Uh, was that on purpose or an accident?" Considering the twisted sense of humor of the blonde old hag beside her, Flandre Scarlet asked somewhat uncertainly.

"Little one, of course I was accidentally on purpose!" Yukari Yakumo replied with a smile.

After a brief silence from the people below, even more intense and concentrated firepower surged up, covering the sky.

"Eh? What's going on? Don't they want that Count's body anymore?" Flandre Scarlet scratched her head; why did the enemy's attacks feel even more frenzied?

"It's simple. If they kill us here, no one will know that they were the ones who killed the Count. Humans... they are such a selfish and cold-hearted race." Yukari Yakumo's narrowed eyes looked down emotionlessly.

"Then let's just go back. Anyway, that Count whatever-his-name-was is already dead," Flandre Scarlet said.

"Sure. I just happen to want to see exactly who these friends of yours here are!" Remilia wanted to see who exactly had the nerve to dare use her younger sister.

"Great, great! Let me tell you, they are all very, very good people!" Flandre Scarlet was as happy as a child wanting to show off to their parents.

Yukari Yakumo looked at the troops below who were falling into a frenzy. "Is it over?"

"I don't think so!" After whispering that, she unhurriedly followed the Scarlet sisters toward the Reunion Movement's location.

Soon, they arrived at the front line. Since the enemy was focusing their main attack on the eastern front, both Talulah and Buldrokkas'tee were here. The west was being held by Red and Alina. Upon seeing the two, Flandre Scarlet pulled Remilia and flew over.

"Talulah, Old Stubborn One, that Count has been taken out!" Flandre Scarlet shouted loudly.

Hearing Flandre Scarlet's voice, the two looked up and saw the three flying over. They were stunned for a moment, then looked at the young girl who bore some resemblance to Flandre Scarlet. In an instant, they understood her identity: the "omnipotent" and "majestic" elder sister Flandre Scarlet spoke of, Remilia Scarlet.

"Really? That's wonderful! Thank you, Flandre!" Talulah's eyes were filled with pleasant surprise. In their view, once the Count was taken out, the enemy's combat strength should quickly collapse.

Flandre Scarlet then began to introduce them. "This is my sister Remilia, and this is..."

Before Flandre Scarlet could finish, Yukari Yakumo interrupted her. "My name is Yukari Yakumo, a friend of Remilia's. I've accompanied her this time to visit her sister. Flandre said her situation was very safe... but it seems a bit different from what she said."

Yukari Yakumo glanced at the nearby battlefield; her words made both Talulah and Buldrokkas'tee feel somewhat embarrassed.

"It was indeed our fault for letting Flandre take such risks. If you have any punishment or demand for compensation, I will take full responsibility," Talulah said, looking seriously at Remilia.

"We'll talk about that later. At the very least, my sister went to so much effort and took so many risks; it shouldn't all be for nothing. Now, according to your plan, where are we at?"

Remilia was indeed very angry with these people who were using her sister's power. But she couldn't stay here for long, so she still had to rely on these people to take care of her sister. Furthermore, her silly sister looked quite happy, so she could only suppress the anger in her heart.

Talulah explained their plan. In their view, the Ursus army, having lost its leader, should have quickly lost its morale. But Buldrokkas'tee soon noticed something was wrong.

"No, the enemy's fighting is still intensifying!"

"Can you tell us how you defeated Miles?" Talulah looked at Flandre Scarlet.

Flandre Scarlet said somewhat sheepishly, "Defeated... it wasn't exactly us who defeated him. It was their own people..." She recounted how the opponent was taken into the sky by Yukari Yakumo using a Gap, and the chain reaction of spells blew him up.

After hearing about the enemy's subsequent actions, Talulah understood the reason. "Damn it, those Casters are concealing the news of Count Miles' death. They intend to use the lives of the Reunion Movement to atone for their sins to the Noble Council."

Talulah's eyes were full of anger. "So, they won't retreat!"

Flandre Scarlet felt a bit dejected. Had she failed? She looked at Remilia with teary eyes, seeking comfort. Seeing her sister's pitiful look, Remilia immediately declared—isn't it just an army of ordinary humans! She stated it was time to let these ignorant Terra people know her majesty.

"Sister, let me show you your elder sister's power!"

A bright red magic circle instantly expanded behind Remilia. Then, beams of light, Large Orbs, and Magic Bullets rained down like a torrential storm toward the Ursus army below. Seeing this, Flandre Scarlet also expanded a red magic circle behind her. Multi-colored Magic Bullets appeared in the air, looking as beautiful as glass marbles. They then fell, blowing one-meter-wide craters into the ground.

The two flew along, bombing as they went, from the front line all the way back to the hill where the Casters were stationed. By the time the bombardment ended, not a single living person could be seen below.

At this point, the situation on the battlefield completely collapsed. A battle without command, even with ten times the numbers, is just a headless fly. The Ursus soldiers decisively threw away all their weapons and equipment to flee light.

While the Reunion Movement members were scavenging supplies, Buldrokkas'tee led the three back to the settlement.

"Flandre, you..." Alina, who had flown back from the other side, was about to speak when she saw Remilia standing next to Flandre Scarlet. A powerful pressure coming from their bloodlines made her shut her mouth instantly.

"Are you Alina?" Remilia looked at the woman with deer antlers. Her frail body and large antlers reminded Remilia of a certain drunkard who loved to drink.

"Yes, Lady Remilia, I am Alina." Alina replied respectfully, guessing this was the elder sister.

"My sister said you treated her very well. That's good, but it's not enough. Next time Sakuya comes over, you should follow Sakuya and learn well from her."
