Chapter 1 - A Ruined World

"F*CK! WHAT TYPA SH*TTY A*S AUTHOR IS THAT!!??!??"

A young man could be seen walking towards his home carrying a school bag. He was staring at his phone, anger evident in his expression clearly from whatever he was reading.

On his phone it read

'Abyss Ascension: System of the Chosen

Final chapter -Completed'

'.....and so Aurelion gathered the final abyss seal, the world cracked, sky thundering.

The world was saved!'

"Saved my a*s, who the f calls that world saved?!?"

The last fifty chapters were nothing but pure, cataclysmic destruction. Cities erased off of the map, not even land left behind. Characters forgotten by the author for whatever reason, even worse, characters dead for "the greater good" or "they lost their way" motives.

And then, as if to mock me, the credits.

Bad ending, rushed, full of nothing.

I started at the empty road, thoughts empty, contemplating all the time invested into such a failed novel.

"Ugh, now my mood is ruined. I wanna beat someone up to let my anger out."

As I walked home, my thoughts were filled with anger at the author and his rushed ending. I spent hours and days of my time on his novel, and what was my reward for all of that? A ruined ending with most of the worthwhile characters dead and a basically destroyed world.

"If I were there, I'd never let the world get destroyed like that." These were the last words that I said before dear old truck-kun decided it was my time.

*Crash*

Darkness swallowed me whole.

*Cough*

*Cough*

I woke up coughing my lungs out. Dust filling my mouth and eyes.

"Wha-what...? Where am I? This....This isn't my house."

I looked around, destruction everywhere around me, broken pillars, floating debris as far as my vision could see. No roads, no buildings, not even any human in sight.

Even the sky itself was shattered, or at least it looked like that with all the glowing cracks.

Just....remains...

"This seems familiar..."

Then it hit me, I knew this place, I know it all too well, this is from Abyss Ascension: System of the Chosen.

I've read about this place

'Desolation Zone 3' a place that appeared after the ending.

"No no no no no....."

I got up to my feet, my body felt smaller, lighter, my hands calloused, body scarred, it felt forgein, not mine. I wasn't in my body or even my world.

"I transmigrated....." and if that was all then it would be acceptable as I would do like the usual and snatch all the opportunities and be the world's strongest, but no, I got transmigrated AFTER the world ended, like what am I supposed to do? Revive it? I didn't sign up for this.

*Grr*

Before I could lament my fate any longer, I heard a low growl from behind a collapsed building. Something massive crawled out.

Four eyes, glowing deep red. A body with exposed ribs and bones in places, black mist leaking from those places.

A void hound, a low level abyss creature, but far more than what I could even handle at my peak.

My legs refused to move, full of fear, from this unknown world, unknown body, and the cherry on top, an otherworldly creature that's starving.

Before it could see me, I hid behind a broken structure that looked like a wall. The monster still growling behind me in search for a prey, I knew that if it got close enough it would smell my scent and spell my doom.

I had to search for a way out, running was out of the question with my small frail and broken body. I need to defend myself somehow, catching it off guard.

I scrambled around me for anything sharp or strong enough to be used as a weapon for my survival. Luckily, this place used to be full or adventurers, so I quickly found what looked to be a sword, or a dagger, it didn't matter anyway as long as it was sharp enough.

I held it close and waited for the hound to come close.

Then, an idea struck me, could I have a system to help me? I wanted to try, the idea of having a system like in those novels filled me with energy.

"SYSTEM!!" I shouted out of excitement, and a mistake I didn't think far for.

*Grr*

The beast, which would have discovered me much later, now took notice of me and I lost my element of surprise.

Before I could think, my instincts flared and I jumed from where I was hiding, clutching my weapon.

*Crash* That was the sound of my hiding placed being broken from the hound's pure strength.

"I'm fu*ked"

The beast turned, ready to strike again. At that moment, a screen flickered in front of me.

"..... it's there" I exclaimed in pure joy, to which the hound didn't care about as it came running at me.

*Duck*

I barely missed it's claws from snapping my head off.

"Woah there buddy, let me enjoy my moment longer." Of course, it wouldn't care as it charged at me again.

I was pinned on the wall with nowhere to go and with a mouth wide open wanting to devour me whole.

I didn't have time to think much and the monster was already in front of me, mouth wide open. I put one of my hands in front of my face in a defensive position.

"OW!" The beast bit my hand eagerly.

*Stab*

*Stab*

*Stab*

I kept stabing the hound in it's eyes with the weapon in my hand.

*Shriek*

My bleeding hand was released from it's mouth as I kept stabing it's eyes to which made it recoil back.

I didn't relax, I lunged forward at it, stabbing the other eyes, incapitating it. If it can't see me it can't hurt me, or at least that's what I wanted to believe.

It kept moving back until it stumbled, and I still didn't stop. I jumped on it.

"Die, die, die, die, die ,die ,die"

I kept stabing it, back, belly, legs, ears, anything I could, I won't stop until I'm sure it's dead.

"Huff, huff" I stumbled back after it lost it's life and leaned on a nearby wall ruin panting from exhaustion.

Now I could clearly see the screen in front of me. Which had a notification.
