Roselyn ran towards the carriage and was just in time as it started to move. She held Robellia close. The other women and children in the carriage looked terrible. The carriage was filled with cries. Roselyn had gotten a glimpse of the situation as she was heading towards the carriage; most of the huts were burning down many lay on the ground lifeless. Their village was gone. All she hoped for now was for James to make it out safely. Robellia was awfully silent throughout the journey. It was a very long journey to Manhatra. They had to stop by a nearby village for supplies. Roselyn got off with Robellia to go search for food, as they looked more presentable than the others. It was best not to raise questions, especially in a town full of humans.
they headed down to a bakery store. The baker looked a little suspicious, "you girls passing by?" Roselyn smiled "we are travellers sir" the baker packed their order. "well it ain't safe for young ladies to be travellin' bout all alone. i got news the hunters just raided another witch village. it ain't safe for no flocks to be travellin' alone." Robellia tightened her hold on Roselyn's neck as Roselyn was carrying her. Roselyn took the bags, "Thank you for the information kind sir. But we are travelling with my husband and we will keep what you said in mind." soon enough they heard a trumpet
"its the hunters. they've returned" the baker exclaimed. Roselyn wanted to hurry out of the bakery and back into the carriage. she stepped out of the bakery and saw a huge commotion outside. she trembled at the sight before her eyes at the centre of the commotion was a huge stage where some men were placed in crucifixes. she knew these men, they were some of the men in their village and there she saw him, James. he was dead. a man stood at the center of the stage, "we promised you a great empire, one free of these monsters. and once more we fufil it here today. these are our enemies. we do not sleep in peace will these monsters walk free in our land. this is just the beginning more shall fall. we shall send these demons back to the hell they came from. FOR OSODIA!" They then lit up the bodies
"Papa!" Robellia whispered as tears flooded her eyes. "shh!" Roselyn hid Robellia's face by her nape. she strangled hard to blink back the tears. they could be seen crying. she covered her face with the hood of her cloak and rushed back to the carriage. once they where on board the carriage begun to move. roselyn could no longer hold back her tears "you promiseed me, James. You promised" she whispered. "Momma we should go back. We cannt just abondon him we are family remember." Roselyn cried as she held her daughter. "your Papa is gone Liya. he isnt coming back. am som sorry, baby but i promise you ill keep you safe no matter what. its only us now and am going to protect you. trust me Liya" robellia herself to sleep in her mother's arms.
It took at took at least three days to arrive at Manhatra. Robellia and her mother decided to stay in manhatra instead of going with the rest to the witch camp in Autahan. Roselyn's younger sister, odelia warmly welcomed them. two years went by and though they had tried to move on the pain was still there. manhatra was filled with humans so they had to blend. it wasn't that difficult as they only had to keep their powers a secret.thier greatest worry was Robellia . she was a giftyed young witch, the first ancestral witch in a millennium. she was simply a miracle. she had the power of the ancestor coursing through her veins. powers an ordinary witch could only dream of. the ring kept her powers restrained hence rendering her unable to use them.
and just as life in manhartra started to get comfortable, things took a huge turn for the worse. that day Robellia and her mother went out for some grocery shopping. on their way back they hear the announcement from the town crier, "As most may know the empire is under seige the Batharian have infiltrated our land. We need more soldiers hence a man from each household shall uphold their duty to our nation. FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF OSODIA!" The people begun to whisper. roselyn hurried back home with Robellia.
"Well you are back earlier than expected." Odelia helped with the bags. "there was a bit of a commotion out in the market. It seems things are getting tense with the Barathrian empire. If things escalate we will have to evacuate. Maybe move to the neighbouring witch camp." Roselyn said looking terribly worried of what was to come. Odelia sighed, "We will hope for the best, sister. Robellia help me with the vegetables. Am making our favourite today." robellia smiled and rushed to help prepare the vegetables.
