Chapter 471 - Chapter 52: Glorious Sacrifice

4:30 PM, Naples Station, Platform 6

Two figures arrived beside the express train that was about to depart.

But unlike other hurried travelers, these two were not rushing to board; instead, they were leisurely looking around.

Soon, one of the men, dressed in a suit with a slicked-back golden pompadour, spotted his target.

"He really showed up, it's Fugo."

Prosciutto casually looked at the figure standing at the front of the platform; that figure seemed unaware of the two ill-intentioned arrivals, standing with his back to them, completely unguarded.

"I can't believe they'd come to a station where their whereabouts are easily exposed. Let's go up and kill them!"

Next to Prosciutto, a man with a thick neck and green, leek-like hair spoke fiercely.

Prosciutto secretly clicked his tongue.

"Are they cornered?"

"Or… do they have confidence that they can escape our pursuit by some means?"

Prosciutto said, looking at the motionless figure in front of him.

This was not a rhetorical question but deliberately spoken for his companion, but clearly, the companion named Pesci did not understand his senior's earnest advice and instead said fiercely, "Who cares! Kill them! We need to avenge Formaggio and Illuso! Go up and kill him…"

Pesci was cut off impatiently by Prosciutto before he could finish speaking.

"Hey! I said!"

Although he didn't look fierce and his tone didn't have a noticeable fluctuation, Prosciutto's sudden words still startled Pesci.

"You've been chattering about killing them, killing them, since just now. In our world, such lines don't exist; those are words for cowards."

Prosciutto turned to Pesci. Pesci, who had been looking fierce, heard Prosciutto's somewhat impatient words, and his fierce expression softened again, as if the shell he had just put on was smashed to pieces by a hammer, completely revealing his underlying weak nature.

"Because when I and my companions have this line in our minds, we have actually already taken the opponent's life; everything is already over!"

Prosciutto extended a finger and poked Pesci's neck: "So we have no use for this phrase."

"Pesci, if you are still our companion, you must learn this early."

"Understand? Do you know what I'm saying?"

Pesci took a step back with a hint of a sob, no longer having the fierce expression he had just now, and replied, "Ah, I understand, Big Brother."

Prosciutto nodded, turned around, and added, "Already killed, that phrase can be used."

Prosciutto looked in the direction of that figure. It seemed that because the train was about to depart, Prosciutto saw that figure beginning to walk towards the carriage.

"Pesci, you go through the carriage, and I'll flank from this side. The opponent doesn't know us; we'll hit them from front and back."

Prosciutto said, watching Takatsuki begin to move.

"Okay, Big Brother Prosciutto…"

Pesci nodded and quickly stepped onto the train through an entrance, walking towards the front of the train.

And Prosciutto also quickly ran towards the entrance at the front of the train.

"Why was Fugo standing in that position just now? What was he looking at?"

Prosciutto pondered the abnormal behavior he had just witnessed as he quickly ran towards the front of the train. Within the assassination squad, he was the most meticulous and skilled at deduction, second only to the leader, Risotto.

He was good at analyzing information based on the situation at hand, and his meticulous mind could discern various clues and details that others might miss.

Just like Bucciarati's subtle movement of crouching in front of the drinking fountain had also caught his attention.

Therefore, in his eyes, Fugo's act of standing at the front of the train also had some special purpose.

Being meticulous is a good thing, but at the wrong time, it can be a weakness easily exploited.

And such was the case now.

Prosciutto slowed his pace because he was thinking too much, failing to enter the train immediately.

Meanwhile, inside the train, Pesci.

Following Prosciutto's orders, he pretended to be a passenger, searching the carriages to ensure the Bucciarati Squad wasn't hiding among the passengers, while walking towards the front of the train.

In their perception, the Bucciarati Squad members didn't know the assassination squad members, so even moving around so openly wouldn't attract attention.

However, anyone who knew Pesci wouldn't overlook him.

His leek-like head was simply too noticeable.

Pesci suddenly stopped as he walked towards the front of the train.

Because he saw someone walking towards him.

"It's Fugo…"

Pesci looked at his target walking towards him and was suddenly too scared to move.

Why is he walking towards me?

Did he recognize me?

No, Big Brother said that Bucciarati and them shouldn't recognize us!

Big Brother must be right.

Yes, he must just be passing by.

Pesci, trembling, suppressed the urge to flee and took another step, trying to pretend to be an ordinary passerby and brush past the approaching enemy.

Pesci watched his target slowly walk past him, seemingly not noticing him, and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

But just as he let out a breath and was about to turn to see where the other person was going, he heard an emotionless voice whisper in his ear.

"Heaven's Stairway · White Snake…"

At an extremely fast speed, Heaven's Stairway extracted two Discs from Pesci's head and forcefully inserted one Disc, replacing Pesci's mind, preventing him from collapsing like a vegetable.

Watching Pesci walk like a zombie, following the commands within the Disc towards the front of the train, Takatsuki silently put away the Disc, hiding in the shadows and watching a figure in a suit at the front of the train board the train.

"Hey! Pesci! Why am I seeing you here!"

As soon as Prosciutto boarded the train, he saw a dazed Pesci walking towards the front of the train.

And just as he called out Pesci's name, the dazed Pesci seemed to be stimulated, lifted his head to look at him, and then walked towards him.

"Hey! Pesci! Why aren't you speaking!"

Prosciutto felt that something was wrong, but he didn't know why.

"Pesci! Can't you hear me!"

Only when Pesci got close to him did Prosciutto realize that this Pesci in front of him was very problematic.

"No! Is it an enemy's Stand attack!? Grateful Dead!"

Prosciutto dared not touch Pesci and immediately summoned his Stand to stop Pesci's movements, and incidentally used Grateful Dead to launch an indiscriminate attack to guard against hidden enemies.

But just as Grateful Dead came into contact with Pesci's body, or rather, Pesci's clothes, he seemed to hear something being pressed.
