Chapter 468 - Chapter 49: The Boss's Second Mission

Although the others didn't know what was happening, they still followed Bucciarati's instructions to pack their luggage.

However, they had only temporarily moved in, so there wasn't much luggage to pack. The most to pack was Takatsuki's pile of "experimental materials."

But Takatsuki had no intention of packing anything. Instead, he sat directly at the main entrance of the mansion, looking at the only road leading out of the mansion, waiting for something.

"..."

Bucciarati looked at Takatsuki, who wasn't continuing to question him, and didn't know what to say. He just felt that his decision this time might have been truly wrong?

"Did something happen, Bucciarati?"

Unlike the other members who simply obeyed Bucciarati, Giorno saw himself and Bucciarati as like-minded companions.

"Giorno, it's nothing, it's just that perhaps I messed things up."

Now was not the time. If he told Giorno about this, the others would inevitably find out too.

Narancia didn't return until the afternoon. He walked back on foot because the car that had been arranged was destroyed in the fight.

"Sorry, Bucciarati, the mission... failed."

Narancia saw Bucciarati and immediately apologized.

"It's okay, Narancia, what exactly happened?"

Hearing Bucciarati's question, Narancia told everyone present about the enemy he encountered, who was Formaggio, with his Stand called Little Feet.

"That guy shrunk himself and hid in the back seat of the car. I didn't even notice him, but thankfully he finally got impatient and exposed himself. However, during the battle, the surrounding cars and the things I bought were all burned."

It seems the outcome was no different from the original story. Takatsuki didn't speak when he heard Narancia's description, but judging by Narancia's appearance, he wasn't injured. It seemed that knowing the opponent's ability still provided quite an advantage, and he suffered less.

"But! Bucciarati, I've already dealt with the guy, and I didn't expose our location here."

Narancia looked happy, feeling that although he hadn't completed the mission, at least he had hidden their information.

"Idiot, it's already exposed. The pursuers will be here soon."

In the past, scolding Narancia for such things was Fugo's job, but now, Fugo would no longer do such things.

Looking at Takatsuki, who was silent and unmoving, Abbachio took over Fugo's part of the work.

"We need to leave here quickly."

Abbachio judged, but Giorno had a different idea: "If that's a capable Boss, now that we're exposed, he'll give us the next instruction."

Abbachio clearly didn't think so and held a different opinion from Giorno.

On the other side, Bucciarati said nothing, only looking towards Takatsuki and then at the vehicle on the other side, as if waiting for something.

"Bucciarati! The Boss's order has arrived!"

His wait was not in vain. Mista pushed open the car door and relayed the message received on the computer to the others.

After becoming a capo, all missions other than daily activities were directly conveyed by the Boss via email.

This laptop was standard issue for every capo and could only be used for one-way communication, receiving emails from the Boss.

Bucciarati quickly walked to the car and picked up the laptop to check it.

"Go to the ruins of Pompeii. I've hidden a key near the dog mural there. That key will safely bring my daughter to me. It's a key for a vehicle."

Bucciarati read the email content aloud, allowing everyone present to hear it.

"..."

After a brief silence, Bucciarati looked up at Takatsuki: "Fugo, can I entrust this mission to you?"

"Wait a minute! Bucciarati!"

Before Takatsuki could say anything, Abbachio stepped forward: "How can such an important mission be entrusted to him alone..."

"Abbachio, that's an order."

Bucciarati interrupted Abbachio and looked towards Takatsuki.

Takatsuki stood up silently, stared at Bucciarati for a while, and then said, "No problem."

His attitude made the others present somewhat displeased, but due to Bucciarati's order, they couldn't say much.

"Then I'll leave it to you."

As if he hadn't noticed Takatsuki's attitude, Bucciarati nodded towards Takatsuki.

Originally a mission for three people, due to Takatsuki's intrusion, now only Takatsuki went alone.

However, for the matter of confronting Man in the Mirror, it was better for him to go alone.

"Papa, what exactly did that Bucciarati mean? He didn't believe you before, but now he's letting you go alone to find the key. Does he finally believe you?"

As he drove, Ai's voice rang in Takatsuki's mind.

"No, it's precisely because he doesn't believe me that he's letting me come alone. After the Narancia incident, he knows that the future I told him is correct, at least for now. If he had completely trusted me after that incident, he wouldn't have let me come alone, but rather let others come with me."

Takatsuki wasn't good at guessing people's thoughts, but he could still judge some basic situations.

"He probably left the others behind to instruct them about something... something related to me."

Takatsuki estimated that one reason Bucciarati sent him away was because he trusted his ability and his own judgment, which was that Takatsuki was not there to disrupt their mission. In other words, he believed that Takatsuki would definitely return after obtaining the key, which is why he let Takatsuki carry out the mission alone.

During this time, he would discuss the issue of Takatsuki with the rest of the squad.

"How can it be like this, Papa? You might as well just not think about saving them."

Takatsuki shook his head: "No need. As the squad leader, it's normal for him to have such vigilance. Anyway, the plot has completely unfolded now, and it won't be long until we meet the Boss. If he still maintains this attitude towards me in his future decisions..."

Then I'll just act on my own. After all, the only difficult part of his mission is Diavolo, as it's not simply about killing him.

He could kill the others slowly.

If it was just to complete the main quest, there was no need for such trouble.

"Then, Dad, should we do a card draw?"

"No, Ai-chan, help me upgrade the Haki I've barely touched on. Can they be displayed on the panel now?"

Takatsuki conversed with Ai in his mind after getting out of the car in front of the ruins.

"Yes, but only Armament Haki and Observation Haki. As for Conqueror's Haki, since we haven't found the trick, it can't be displayed."

"That's enough."
