SERAPHINA "Sera" MORTEZ'S POINT OF VIEW
"Can you guys hurry up?!" I snap, hands planted on my hips as I glare at the four men scattered across my living room floor. They're rummaging through suitcases like kids let loose in a candy shop, clothes and gear strewn everywhere.
"Mommy, they're making a mess," Rio says, scratching at his hair.
"Like big babies," Leo adds, sucking on a lollipop that's already stained his chin pink.
They stand flanking me by the door, watching the chaos unfold. My eyes drift to Lucian-he's frowning down at his own suitcase, which holds clothes I know I could never afford. When he first arrived, he didn't believe those three were really his friends... but now, staring at designer pieces he couldn't have bought himself, maybe he's starting to accept it.
