Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Playing Tricks

Time flew by, and it was Monday. With the academy's Summer League starting next week, there was a noticeable increase in students discussing football at school.

The football team members also became the focus of everyone's attention.

Even underachievers like Georgie, who often dozed off and got distracted in class, received leniency from teachers in all subjects due to his status as a football player.

Meanwhile, Cady also began her path of revenge.

At lunchtime, she pulled out a bottle of drink from her bag and handed it to Regina, saying, "Regina, this is a diet drink my father brought back from Africa. To thank you for taking care of me during this time, please accept it."

"Do you think I need to lose weight?" Regina immediately retorted.

That one sentence froze Cady's smile.

However, before Cady could think of a response, Regina picked up the drink bottle and poured herself a glass.

"It tastes good—" Regina tasted the yellowish-orange fruit juice in her hand, then picked up the bottle and examined it: "What language is this?"

The drink bottle was marked with foreign text that Regina couldn't understand at all.

"This is Vietnamese text. The local people are so thin because they often drink this kind of beverage," Cady lied, feigning composure.

This sports weight-gaining drink was actually specially chosen for Regina by Janis from the department store where she worked.

Moreover, if Regina thought about it for a moment, she would realize how Cady's father, who previously worked in Africa, could bring back Vietnamese local specialties.

However, what girl could resist the temptation of becoming slimmer? Regina pretended to understand the text on the bottle and commented, "I really like its ingredients, very healthy..."

Truth be told, Regina's figure was the slender type, and she was at a vibrant age, so she didn't need to lose any more weight.

And her words were exactly what Cady wanted to hear.

"Really? If you like it, I'll bring you a bottle every day from now on," Cady generously promised.

"Are you trying to curry favor with me?" Regina stared at Cady suspiciously.

After staring at Cady until she became a bit uncomfortable, Regina suddenly smiled: "Very good, you have regained my friendship."

With the sudden ups and downs, a relieved Cady secretly gave Janis, who was in the corner of the cafeteria, an OK sign.

Step one, make Regina lose her good figure, plan successful.

In the afternoon, before outdoor sports began, three figures secretly arrived at the cheerleading changing room.

Damian, who wasn't as keen on dealing with Regina, said, "You two go in, I'll keep watch for you here."

Cady and Janis entered the changing room. After finding Regina's cheerleading uniform, Cady took out an oil-based pen, preparing to draw on the clothes.

Janis felt this wasn't enough. She shook her head, took out a small pair of scissors, and gestured twice.

Finally, to Cady's surprised gaze, Janis cut two large holes in the two most prominent parts of the uniform.

After everything was done, Janis excitedly called her two companions and hid around the corner of the corridor, waiting to see Regina make a fool of herself.

Soon after, Regina arrived at the changing room.

She picked up the ripped cheerleading uniform and, without much thought, put it on.

With her aura of confidence, Regina's charm remained undiminished even when wearing the ripped uniform.

In the corridor, looking at the still radiant Regina, Janis annoyingly cursed, "Bitch—"

Just then, Mike walked over from one end of the corridor. Regina seized the opportunity to stop him and asked, "Mike, what do you think of this outfit?"

Regina had a great figure and looked beautiful in anything she wore. Coupled with her unique temperament, she was even more charming.

"Very beautiful—" Mike said truthfully. Of course, he was more complimenting the person.

"Thank you—" Regina threw Mike a flirtatious glance and walked out contentedly.

In the corridor, the interaction between Mike and Regina, two popular campus figures, was observed by many students.

After Mike's affirmation, the bold and avant-garde design of Regina's clothes also became popular among the girls.

Soon, girls started deliberately cutting two large holes in their clothes, imitating Regina.

Step two, destroy Regina's charm, plan failed.

In the corner, Cady, having avoided Mike, said dejectedly, "How about we just stop targeting Regina?"

She had originally wanted to ruin Regina's beautiful image, but just now, by a strange twist of fate, she had managed to boost Regina's presence in front of Mike again.

"No way, I refuse to believe that little bitch Regina can keep being so smug," Janis's voice this time sounded as if she was gritting her teeth.

She defiantly pulled out a box of cosmetics from her bag, handed it to Cady, and said, "Go give this to Regina. I'm going to ruin her pretty face."

"What is this?" Cady opened the box and sniffed it; there was a faint, pleasant scent. However, she was still uneasy: "There aren't any prohibited substances in here that would disfigure Regina, are there?"

Although Cady disliked Regina, she wasn't malicious enough to want to disfigure her.

"What are you thinking? This is hemorrhoid cream..." Janis explained. In fact, she wasn't that malicious either.

Upon hearing it was hemorrhoid cream, Cady immediately closed the lid in disgust.

However, as long as it wasn't truly meant to disfigure the other person, Cady indicated she could accept it.

Soon, Cady found Regina on the sports field and enthusiastically handed her the "cosmetics."

Regina glanced at the cosmetics, which had no text description, sniffed them, and then accepted them.

Afterward, she even encouraged Cady, her little follower: "Very good, you've found the knack for surviving in The Plastics. Keep up the good work, and maybe soon you'll become the team's second-in-command."

On this day, Cady used two "gifts" to successfully draw closer to Regina.

Meanwhile, on the football field, Sam began his warm-up in protective gear.

It was clear that he had recovered well after the last fight. Moreover, having learned his lesson, his personality had become much more composed.

Soon, Aaron, aiming for team harmony, took Sam to find Mike.

Under Aaron's witness, Sam voluntarily backed down and apologized to Mike again.

Looking at Sam's shifty eyes, Mike felt it was pointless and had no interest in bothering him further.

After Aaron and Sam left, Georgie came up to Mike: "Sam definitely has ill intentions. I know his personality."

"Forget it, it's all in the past," Mike shook his head, not taking Sam's matter to heart.

As for the level of a running back and safety, the quarterback has the most say.

After this period of joint training with Mike, Aaron had become accustomed to his coverage.

And when the scrimmage began, Aaron was surprised to find that Sam's level was actually inferior to Mike's.

Therefore, after a round of training, Aaron, thinking of the team's performance, proactively went to find Coach George again.
