Chapter 197 - Ch197: Merging Egghead

Back on Egghead, the migration reached its crescendo. The entire island began to hum, a deep, fundamental vibration that shook dust from the ceilings.

Across the white plains, sections of the city simply vanished first a floating cube, then a pyramid, swallowed by expanding pools of light that erupted from the ground.

Ragnar stood at the edge of the main Labophase, the wind whipping his coat. Below him, the intricate machinery of the island was being consumed by the growing Heavens Gate.

Piece by piece, structure by structure, Egghead was being disassembled at a quantum level and reassembled elsewhere.

Zoro and Atlas returned, the latter carrying a bound and gagged CP0 agent over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "Floor's clean," Zoro reported.

Edison arrived, pushing a sealed containment unit holding the stabilized Mother Flame. "All priority assets secured!"

Lilith, Shaka, and Pythagoras emerged from a transport pod, the latter cradling the inert body of the original Vegapunk. "Stella is safe in the new archive. Data transfer: 100%."

Kuro and York were the last, the latter carrying data-slates with cold efficiency.

Ragnar looked at his crew, his new, expanded crew. The scientists looked exhausted, exhilarated, and terrified. His fighters looked eager for the next conflict. He turned his gaze to the horizon.

There, at the edge of the perpetual artificial noon, a line of darkness had appeared. Dozens of ships.

The unmistakable silhouette of Marine battleships. At the van, moving with impossible speed just above the waves, was a streak of golden light, Kizaru.

"Right on schedule," Ragnar murmured, a smirk playing on his lips. He raised his arms in culmination.

The Heavens Gate, now encompassing the entire foundational area of the Labophase and the Brain Structure, blazed with apocalyptic intensity.

The silver light climbed into the sky, forming a dome over the heart of Egghead. The Marines opened fire. Cannon shells streaked across the distance, plasma beams lanced from the lead ships.

They were too late.

With a final, silent detonation of light that washed over the approaching fleet like a tidal wave, the core of Egghead, the Brain, the Labophase, the priceless prototypes, the Vegapunks, and Ragnar's crew, simply ceased to exist in this world.

The cannon fire passed harmlessly through empty air, impacting the barren, hollowed-out shell of white rock and a few collapsing, non-essential surface structures that remained.

The silver light faded, leaving behind an eerie silence and a gaping, geometric scar on the island where the future used to be.

Admiral Kizaru materialized on the deserted, vibrating landing pad, his usual languid expression replaced by one of profound, bewildered shock. "Ohhhh… this is… very bad."

Saint Saturn's warship docked at the shattered remains of a pier. The Elder stepped onto the lifeless rock, his face a mask of fury. They had not been defeated in battle.

They had been robbed. In front of their entire fleet. The greatest scientific mind of the age and all his work had vanished into a legend, leaving behind only the mocking echo of their own cannon fire.

…..

The Heavens Dimension.

The merger was not violent, but it was profound. The celestial sky, usually a tapestry of soft twilight and drifting, lantern-like stars, rippled as a new landmass was woven into its fabric.

It did not crash onto the endless grassy plains; it coalesced above them, a second, floating tier to the realm.

The iconic spherical Brain of Egghead, now gleaming like a pearl, hung suspended beneath a new, miniature artificial sun that provided perfect, shadowless illumination.

Around it, the geometric lab structures found their places on floating islands of white alloy, connected by graceful, luminous walkways.

Rivers of coolant and energy plasma redirected themselves into elegant arcs that fell in sparkling waterfalls into collecting basins below.

The sterile, white landscape of Egghead was softened by the ambient glow of the dimension, becoming less a laboratory and more a celestial university.

On the main balcony of the central palace, the women of Ragnar's court watched the birth of this new wonder.

Nami's eyes were practically Beri signs. "Do you have any idea how much that technology is worth?! A single one of those floating cubes could buy all of Water 7!"

"I think its value is a bit beyond money now, Nami." Nojiko smiled, squeezing her sister's shoulder.

Robin's expression was one of deep awe, her hands clasped. "The accumulated knowledge of Dr. Vegapunk… It's all here. The true history… It's finally within reach. I wonder how much knowledge he has in his possession?"

Hancock stood with her chin held high, but her obsidian eyes were wide. To see her beloved's power again, and not just destroy, but create and integrate on such a scale… it stirred something fierce and proud in her chest.

Sandersonia and Marigold gasped in unison, pointing as the Mother Flame reactor was installed in a dedicated energy spire, its light adding a warm pulse to the sky.

Little Bonney, perched on the balcony rail, giggled and clapped, but then her tone changed. "Pretty lights! Ragnar brought a new toy! But hmph Vegapunk, see if I will not beat you up!"

S-Snake, the Seraphim clone of Hancock, hovered silently nearby.

Her normally placid, programmed expression flickered with something akin to confusion and wonder as she observed the man who created her, and the man who now owned her originator's heart, perform what could only be described as a divine act.

And in the sky above the newly anchored Egghead, Ragnar hovered, the transformation they witnessed upon him.

His Seraphim form was active. Six wings of pure, blazing white light fanned out from his back, casting a holy radiance over the scene below.

His hair, usually light blue, was tipped with silver. His golden eyes glowed with an inner, cosmic light. He was the nexus, the conduit through which the dimension fed.

As the last piece of Egghead snapped into place, the feedback hit him.

It was a tsunami of power, but not of brute force. It was intelligent power. It carried not just energy, but *

information.

The sheer weight of Vegapunk's scientific history, centuries of experimentation, discovery, failure, and triumph, flooded into the dimension's core and thus, into him.

He felt the realm itself expand in a way it hadn't from simply acquiring land. It grew deeper, richer, more complex. Its underlying laws became more robust, capable of supporting more intricate realities.

The feedback surged through his pathways.

His Haki, already monstrous, crystallized. His Observation bloomed outward, he could now sense not just the emotions and intentions of those in his dimension, but could even momentarily perceive the frantic, furious council happening in the outside world in Mariejois, the shocked confusion on Kizaru's face, the determined training of Luffy on Rusukaina, all as faint, distant whispers on the wind of fate.

His Armament Haki felt denser, like wearing armor forged from neutron star matter. His Conqueror's… it now carried a subtle, new harmonic, the weight of acquired knowledge, the authority of understood truth.

His physical body thrummed with vitality. Muscle fibers were realigned at a microscopic level for optimal efficiency.

His senses sharpened further, he could hear the hum of the Mother Flame reactor from miles away, see the individual data packets flowing through Egghead's new network.

His control over the Logia Water-Water Fruit, deepened. He understood its polarity, its molecular bonds, its role in life, and erosion on a fundamental level.

He felt he could now manipulate not just vast quantities, but create water with specific properties, healing, corrosive, and memory-retentive.

And the Seraphim power sang within him. The white wings burned brighter. The holy light felt less like an ability and more like an innate function, like breathing.

He felt an even closer connection to the other Seraphim in his service, could sense S-Bear guarding a distant sector, S-Hawk patrolling the perimeter.

He descended slowly, the light of his form dimming but not extinguishing, his feet touching the grassy plain at the foot of the floating Egghead. The women on the balcony looked down at him, their faces illuminated by his residual glow.

Nami's greedy awe had softened into stunned reverence. Nojiko's smile was full of pride. Robin's gaze held a newfound, profound respect, here was a man who didn't just seek the truth, but built a library to house it.

Hancock's breath caught, in this form, he looked every bit the celestial sovereign she knew him to be, a ruler of realms both physical and intellectual. Bonney cheered. S-Snake simply stared, her programming struggling to categorize what she was seeing.

Ragnar looked up at them, then at his new, floating academy of science, and finally at the ever-expanding skies of his own domain.
