Chapter 90 - Chapter 90

Before long, the day of the workplace internships arrived.

"Have you all brought your combat uniforms?"

"Remember—normally, combat uniforms aren't allowed to be worn in public. Take good care of them and don't lose them."

Under Aizawa-sensei's guidance, the class gathered at the station, each of them carrying their combat gear.

Since everyone's internship locations were spread across the country, this would be the point where they separated and headed toward their respective destinations.

"And one more thing," Aizawa added. "Be polite when dealing with Pro Heroes. That's all—dismissed."

"Iida, if you really run into trouble, you have to tell me."

After Aizawa-sensei announced dismissal and left on his own, Midoriya Izuku stopped Iida just as he was about to turn away.

Midoriya himself had received an invitation from the Pro Hero Gran Torino—the former homeroom teacher of All Might and a partner of the seventh holder of One For All. He was standing there practically vibrating with excitement.

But despite that, his worry for Iida was obvious.

Although Iida always wore a polite smile in front of others, Midoriya could see the deep hatred hidden in his eyes.

There were clearly better choices available, yet Iida had deliberately chosen a small Hero Office in Hosu City.

Coincidentally—or perhaps not—the news had recently reported sightings of the Hero Killer in Hosu City. Whether it was coincidence or fate, Midoriya couldn't help but feel uneasy.

"Well, I will," Iida replied after a moment. "We're friends, aren't we?"

Hearing his friend's concern, Iida turned back and gave him a bright, reassuring smile.

But the moment he turned away again, his expression darkened instantly.

"This is awesome, Todoroki! Maybe we'll get into a real fight tomorrow."

On the tram, with nothing better to do, Masata chatted casually with the person beside him.

Sitting next to him was Todoroki Shouto. In the end, he had chosen to accept his father's invitation and intern at the Endeavor Agency.

"After the sports festival, I went to visit my mother," Todoroki said quietly, looking down at his hands. "I confirmed something with her."

He seemed noticeably calmer than before.

"From her, I learned that my father never truly forgot about our family. Maybe there were other reasons behind his actions all these years."

"So this time, I want to see him at work… and find the answer for myself."

Masata couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

A harmonious family really is important… having a home is better than anything.

Listening to Todoroki's complicated family situation, Masata felt a little emotional. His own family might have minor conflicts from time to time, but most days were filled with laughter.

"If you ask me," Masata said casually, "your dad just doesn't know how to express his feelings."

"What do you mean?" Todoroki turned his head slightly.

Masata shifted into a more comfortable position, resting his chin in his hand.

"Actually, your dad called me during the sports festival. At the time, I thought he was a pretty approachable uncle. Maybe his obsession with surpassing All Might ran so deep that he ended up ignoring your feelings."

Before long, the tram arrived at their destination.

Endeavor's agency was located in Tokyo, and the two of them quickly reached the area.

"Whoa… it really is Endeavor."

Masata looked up at the towering building in front of them and let out an exaggerated sigh.

"This office is massive."

A Pro Hero's wealth was obvious. The scale of Endeavor's agency easily rivaled that of a major corporate headquarters.

Endeavor had clearly already notified the staff. Under the respectful gazes of the reception desk, the two stepped into the elevator.

Their destination was Endeavor's private office on the top floor.

Standing before the door, Masata knocked firmly.

"Come in."

A deep, magnetic voice sounded from inside.

When the door opened, Endeavor was sitting on the sofa, his towering figure immediately filling the room.

Even indoors, the flames burning from his beard showed no sign of fading—a constant symbol of his overwhelming presence.

"Welcome to the world of Pro Heroes," Endeavor said.

"These are the tasks you'll be handling over the next week. Take a good look."

Seeing his son standing there, the sharpness on Endeavor's face softened slightly—though his tone remained stiff.

He placed a thick stack of documents on the coffee table, motioning for them to take it.

Masata picked one up and scanned it.

"Let's see… paperwork in the morning, street patrol in the afternoon. Then the next day is… free activity?"

He stared at the nearly empty schedule, confusion clear on his face.

This wasn't quite what he had imagined.

Seeing Masata's expression, Endeavor understood immediately and explained:

"Unless there's an emergency or a commission in the city, Heroes don't act constantly. The first day is meant to let you experience routine work. If a case comes in, you'll accompany me."

Should I say this is amazing…?

As a student, I'm already following the No. 2 Hero into the field.

"For now, familiarize yourselves with the environment," Endeavor continued.

"Go to the dorms, put your luggage away. Someone will guide you on patrol this afternoon."

He took a key from his pocket and handed it to Todoroki.

"The dorms are on the tenth floor. We'll regroup in the afternoon."

After leaving the office, Masata stretched lazily.

"This is awesome, Todoroki! Maybe we'll get into a real fight tomorrow. What kind of villains do you think we'll run into?"

Todoroki glanced at him and poured cold water over his excitement.

"There aren't criminals waiting to be caught every single day. Hero work isn't just fighting villains. It also involves resolving disputes and cooperating with the police. Don't get ahead of yourself."

Before long, the two arrived at their dormitory.

"Separate rooms?" Masata looked around. "The conditions here are amazing."

Whether it was specially arranged or standard for the agency, the room was around thirty square meters, complete with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. It was comfortable by any standard.

"Then I'll head to my room," Todoroki said. "See you this afternoon."

Naturally, they weren't assigned the same room. Masata's room happened to be a little closer.

After closing the door, opening the window, and feeling the cool breeze from the street below, Masata narrowed his eyes in satisfaction.

"I wonder if anything interesting will happen this afternoon."

Leaning against the window and watching the traffic flow endlessly below, his thoughts slowly drifted.
