In the Lover's Labyrinth dating simulation, multiple plots were introduced at intervals to facilitate the relationship between Evan and the heroines.
The impromptu test of Professor Lyra was one, and this unannounced E-rank dungeon due to Principal Logan's bad taste was another.
In the original plotline, as soon as they teleported, Soren, Sylvia, and Aria would get heavily injured by the attack of the Blazing Falcon.
With Archer, Summoner, and Healer out of the way, and Aurelia being weak against a fire-type flying monster, only Evan was able to save them.
So, it was a classic plot of fighting with life on the line, and saving the damsel in distress.
Only, even Soren was supposed to be a damsel here. No wonder Soren was mad that he became a side character, as his role throughout the story was quite pathetic.
"Aurelia, dodge!"
Soren shouted loudly, while he himself landed beside the two huge Golems summoned by Aria Luan. He didn't have a floating-type skill to suspend himself in the air.
"Kreeee!"
At that moment, another Blazing Falcon, wings surrounded by searing flame, let out a piercing screech before unleashing a volley of inferno toward Aurelia.
They were extremely unlucky, teleporting directly beside the nest of these monsters. The Blazing Falcons were utterly furious.
"Boom!"
In an instant, the sky once again turned red, as even the ground beneath began to melt from the rapid temperatures. Waves of scorching wind swept through, carrying the smell of smoke and charred earth.
"Elemental Barrier!"
But Aurelia didn't show any panic, nor did she dodge the attack as Soren said.
Rather, with the help of her staff, she immediately activated her defensive barrier, surrounding herself with a shimmering dome.
She could feel that although the attack was powerful and menacing, her defensive barrier was more than enough to cancel it out.
So, rather than getting afraid, she was instead slightly excited as she finally found a worthy opponent, not that garbage Goblin Chieftain.
"Idiot, dodge... don't you hear?"
Just as Aurelia smiled slightly with a faint fighting spirit, she once again heard Soren's shout. This time, though, it wasn't pleasant by any means.
"What?"
Never before in her life was she called an idiot right to her face.
She, who was so prideful, was instantly furious about to look towards Soren, when a prompt landed on her ears,
---
[Level 20, High-level fire-type flying monster, Blazing Falcon detected.]
[All fire-type spells' effects have been reduced by 20% due to same elemental disadvantage.]
---
It was the 'Voice of the World' that every hunter would hear after they awakened their class and status panel in this world.
It was also the voice that accompanied every hunter in their adventures as long as they entered a natural dungeon, unadulterated by humans.
"Swish!"
Sure enough, the moment the prompt appeared, Aurelia suddenly felt the Blazing Falcon's aura affecting her.
In an instant, her Elemental Barrier spell weakened considerably.
"Shit!"
Unfortunately, before she realized what had happened, the volley of fire was already landing on her fragile barrier.
"Boom!"
With a responding noise, her barrier, which should have been able to stop the attack, wobbled violently before shattering in an instant.
With only a moment to react, the blazing inferno lunged toward her, intending to swallow her alive.
"Crescent Sever!"
Fortunately, Evan arrived at just the right time and shot a piercing light from his sword, cutting the inferno directly in two.
"Ugh..."
But the momentum still hit Aurelia, injuring her badly and causing a drop of blood to spill from her mouth.
"Are you alright?"
Evan asked with worry, having been a bit late in saving her. To be honest, he had been caught off guard this time.
Who would have thought they would be transported directly into an E-rank dungeon like this?
Not to mention right beside the nest of a level 20 flying monster. Such bad luck.
"Piercing Shot!"
"Scree-RAAAH!"
Just as Aurelia was about to nod in response, a fierce swish of an arrow, followed by the roaring Falcon, drew their attention.
When they looked, they saw Soren fighting alone against one of the Blazing Falcons while standing on the shoulder of one of the Golems summoned by Aria.
This time, they were at a serious disadvantage, facing a flying-type monster that could breathe fire.
With no one in the party knowing any flying skills, it was nearly impossible to hit it, let alone kill it.
Maybe Soren also realised the stakes, as he was already firing one arrow after another at the Blazing Falcon's wing while steadily keeping it away from Sylvia and Aria, who were hiding behind another Golem.
He would hide behind the Golem whenever the blazing flames threatened him.
He moved so smoothly with every step that, for a moment, Aurelia and Evan stared at him in stunned silence.
Each arrow he fired cut through the air with deadly precision, forcing the Blazing Falcon to constantly dodge while he danced effortlessly between attacks.
This was the first time they saw an archer move with deadly grace, each shot flawless.
"Swish!"
Soren shot another arrow at the Falcon, which it easily dodged by maneuvering in the air. But he also managed to block its attack by distracting it.
Then he finally looked toward Evan and Aurelia, only to find them gawking at him.
Furious, he couldn't help but shout loudly.
"What the heck are you gawking at, idiots? Can't you see that Falcon is about to attack you? Save yourselves!"
Soren shouted, speechless as another attack was already brewing in the air. He couldn't spare attention to distract another Falcon as well, could he?
Fortunately, both Evan and Aurelia were alert, and before another blazing inferno could land, they dodged in time.
Of course, their faces were as black as the bottom of a pot, as Soren once again called them 'idiots.'
