"I am waiting."
"Very patiently, I see."
Takoda gave her a pleased grin.
A moment later, Sera entered behind the servants, accompanied by Dimitri. Each of them carried a bowl of medicine, and Dakota immediately recognized the familiar preparations Elias had prescribed for her and Cooper. Sera's expression softened when she saw the three of them sitting together on the bed.
"Well, look who's finally awake," she remarked warmly.
Dakota smiled. "We must have been more tired than we realized."
"Clearly." Sera approached the bed and glanced at Cooper. "How are you feeling, sweetheart?"
Cooper looked at her for a moment before answering softly, "I'm okay."
"Any pain?"
He shook his head.
"Good." Sera brushed his hair gently away from his forehead. "You must keep resting and eating well so you can grow stronger."
Cooper nodded, leaning a little closer to Dakota.
