"I have a present too!"
With that, Fuyuki ran to the other side and took out his long-hidden candy, which he had specially saved for Entei.
Seeing this, Entei felt incredibly gratified.
It first licked Fuyuki, then glanced at Raikou not far away.
Raikou: "..."
That expression seemed to be proving to it that it, Entei, was the most important Pokémon by this human cub's side.
After feeding it candy, Fuyuki started "rummaging through" Entei's fur again.
Looking at the little creature examining its fur, Entei was utterly confused.
Raikou, however, realized that the human cub was checking if Entei had been injured on its trip!
Its feelings were immediately very complicated.
Seeing that Entei was unharmed, Fuyuki finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Now that Entei was back, a huge weight had been lifted from its shoulders; it no longer needed to worry about Entei encountering danger outside.
They could once again live happily together in this new home, just like before.
Speaking of their new home…
Fuyuki looked at the carpet and wooden floor beneath him, proudly asking Entei, "Entei, I've transformed our home into this, isn't it amazing?"
"Of course it's amazing." Entei's heart softened. It licked Fuyuki's fur and said, unusually, "Little one, you're the most amazing child in the world."
"It can get even better!" Fuyuki's eyes lit up.
Once he had enough points of amazement, he could continue to expand this cave into a perfect home for him, for Entei, Raikou, Marshadow, and for all Pokémon!
Then… he could raise a whole bunch of fluffy Pokémon!
"Yes, I believe you," Entei said.
After a long absence, Fuyuki was once again nestled in Entei's warm embrace.
He was so excited he couldn't sleep, so he started rambling on and on about the things that had happened these past few days.
Including performing magic tricks for the Pokémon in the mountains, including planting berries with Raikou…
Hearing this, Entei glanced at Raikou.
As they talked, Fuyuki felt a wave of drowsiness wash over him. He simply nestled into Entei's arms, closed his eyes peacefully, and drifted off to sleep.
The two Pokémon watched this scene silently, neither disturbing him.
After a long while, Entei used telepathy to communicate silently with Raikou.
"When are you leaving?"
"What? Afraid I'll steal your little one?" Raikou retorted.
Entei: "..."
"No." Entei gently shook its head, looking at the little one beside it, its tone solemn and dignified: "You're right, this is no longer just a matter for one Pokémon."
Raikou paused, taken aback.
The Entei continued, "We all have our own missions to complete and cannot stay at Mount Tensei for long. With my own strength alone, I'm afraid I cannot properly care for Little One."
"However, I also cannot leave Little One alone at Mount Tensei. Therefore, Raikou, I hope you can help me raise Little One." The Entei looked at Raikou. Although it worried that Little One might prefer Raikou, other matters were clearly more important.
Faced with this crucial decision, the Entei chose to share the custody of Little One with Raikou and Marshadow.
With more Pokémon to care for him, Little One could grow up safely and smoothly.
"Hmph," Raikou snorted coldly, its voice arrogant and indifferent.
Just when the Entei thought Raikou was about to refuse, Raikou spoke again.
"Since that's the case, then from today onwards, I am the father of this human cub."
The Entei frowned slightly. "I am the little one's father; I was the first to encounter him!"
"You entrusted this human cub to my care, so I should also be his father!" Raikou sneered.
"It is I!"
"It is I!"
Marshadow, who had been secretly watching, was speechless. It couldn't bear it any longer and was forced to emerge from the shadows.
Seeing it appear, Raikou and the Entei immediately turned their gazes to it.
Marshadow's gaze was deep and unfathomable: "Don't misunderstand, I don't want to argue with you about who is the father of this human cub. I just want to say that, according to human custom, we should now give this human cub a formal name."
A name?
Hearing this, the Entei and Raikou were stunned.
They looked at each other for a few seconds, then nodded.
"Indeed."
"It's not good to keep calling him 'little one' and 'human cub' like this." The Entei pondered.
It's fine now, but it won't be suitable when the little one grows up.
But the problem is, what kind of name should we give him?
"How about we call him Thunder!" Raikou suggested.
Entei frowned instantly. He looked at Raikou, thinking, "Why don't you just call him Raikou!"
"No way!" Entei rejected. "I think Little Treasure is more suitable for the little one!"
Because the little one is his precious treasure.
"It doesn't sound good!" Raikou said arrogantly. "Just call him Thunder!"
"Little Treasure!"
"Thunder!"
"..." Marshadow..." Marshadow sighed helplessly, then spoke up at the opportune moment:
"I once entered this human cub's dream. He has a name, given to him by his two deceased parents."
Hearing this, Entei and Raikou were slightly taken aback.
They looked at Marshadow.
Marshadow continued, "Fuyuki, his name is Fuyuki. It was given to him by his human parents with overflowing love and expectations, hoping he would be like a tree in winter, standing strong and thriving even in the face of cold winds and snow."
"…" Entei and Raikou fell silent.
They exchanged a glance. This time, they didn't argue, but instead turned their heads in unison to look at the sleeping human cub.
After a long while, Entei's majestic and solemn voice resonated in Marshadow and Raikou's hearts.
"In that case, let's call him Fuyuki!"
Raikou remained silent, then nodded, no longer arguing with Entei.
"Masha?" So it's decided?
Marshadow looked at the two Pokémon.
Entei and Raikou simultaneously nodded their large heads.
Marshadow breathed a sigh of relief, then silently slipped into Fuyuki's shadow, leaving Entei and Raikou alone to guard Fuyuki.
"Has Lord Ho-Oh not returned yet?" Entei asked.
Raikou shook its head.
"And Suicune? Any news of Suicune?"
Raikou shook its head again: "I haven't seen it in a long time, but I can sense its location. It's in the Johto region now."
"I understand." Entei said nothing more.
It had traveled tirelessly day and night, almost never stopping to rest, in order to return to see Little One as soon as possible. Now its body was utterly exhausted.
Entei looked at Little One beside it. Sleeping on the soft carpet Little One had created, it felt a sense of peace.
Unconsciously, Entei closed its eyes and drifted off to sleep with Fuyuki.
