Chapter 29 - Preparations

"Where's Ida? He was just here a moment ago." Momo wondered while taking the class attendance, a task she volunteered for after becoming vice president for Class 1-A.

"Four eyes was running to the main gate the last I saw him. Crazy bastard was running like he just got told his mom died, even almost knocked me down." Bakugo grumbled as he walked past her, having just entered class. Just then, the sliding door to the class opened again.

"Bakugo! Come with me! I am in need of your assistance!" Ida declared.

"Damnit what now?! I haven't even sat down yet!"

"Please! It's urgent!" Ida looked at him with utmost seriousness. Bakugo stared at him for a couple more seconds before gritting his teeth. The blonde threw his bag onto his chair before stomping towards the door, grumbling along the way, making sure everyone knew his dissatisfaction.

"These two sure are lively." Kirishima commented with a laugh. Just then, a pair of pink heads walked in class together.

"Saw Ida and Bakugo arguing when they were going downstairs together. What's up with that?" Mina questioned.

"Ida asked Bakugo for help, but you know how Bakugo always is, his 'enthusiasm' never ceases to amaze me." Momo smiled at her. Mina laughed as she sat down, with Sukuna silently doing the same.

"Here, I finished it last night." Sukuna took out a manga volume, what's interesting was it was a romance manga titled 'You And I Are Polar Opposites', a weird sight indeed.

" That fast? Did you even read it at all?" Mina pouted at him. Knowing Sukuna, he'd probably just skim through books like these and not enjoy the story.

"Obviously."

"Ok... So if you read it, where did the main couple went on their first date?"

"First was the burger place then the mall. They walked around for a moment before watching a movie."

Mina sighed. "Well I guess you did read it. Did you like it?"

"I'd give it a 9/10. It doesn't follow the usual tropes and from what I can tell it doesn't have unnecessary drama to it most romance mangas have—*cough* Rent A Girlfriend *cough*."

"Right?! I was so scared to buy this book because of that."

"They seem closer than ever." Denki mumbled, feeling jealous alongside Mineta sitting on his table, both glaring at Sukuna.

"Geez. Are girls the only thing on your mind?" Jiro rolled her eyes. Denki glanced at her.

" What? Do you want me to start thinking about you or something?"

" Wha—No! I didn't say that dumbass!"

"Why the hell did you call me to do this shit?! You clearly can handle this own your own!" They all turned, hearing Bakugo shout outside of the classroom.

"I'm 'four eyes' not 'four arms', Bakugo! Don't be unreasonable!" Ida argued back.

"The only one unreasonable here is you! You should've called the guy in our class with six arms, dumbass!"

"Can you two brats shut up? I don't want my first hour of getting discharged be filled with noise..." They heard a familiar low voice shutting the both of them up.

"No way..." Mina muttered as the sliding door opened, revealing a heavily bandaged Aizawa, sitting on a wheelchair pushed by Bakugo.

"Sensei!!!" They all stood up in surprise, greeting the injured man.

"Ah don't be surprised, I'm not letting you brats sit here and enjoy like you're still in middle school. Now sit down, class is in session." Aizawa waved them off, as Bakugo helped roll the wheelchair to the front of the class, surprisingly cooperative of helping the man, despite what he previously said.

"Ask me to help next time and I'll blow your head off." He threatened Ida who scoffed in return, not feeling scared at all. He was definitely asking him for help later.

"Oi settle down already..." An irritated Aizawa grumbled, before clearing his throat, getting straight to business.

"First of all, not bad for your first time dealing with actual villains. I was afraid you would lose your cool back there, guess I shouldn't keep underestimating you kids... Ah but don't get on your high horses." He quickly added, noticing that some of his students had smiles on their faces.

"Just because you survived this encounter doesn't mean you'll survive the next. Villains are always unpredictable, and most of them have nothing to lose, that's what makes them dangerous. Those chumps were only class D villains, class C at best..."

" From now on, I expect the 21 of you to keep pushing yourselves to the limit and break past them." He looked at them one by one with a serious gaze, his usual 'I'm so done with this bullshit' stare gone momentarily.

"A reminder that there is no such thing as a limit when it comes to Quirks, so you better train until you drop." He paused, inhaling a little.

"Anyways, now that that whole fiasco is over with. Time to move onto the next agenda. And it seems that your battlefield isn't over just yet." He grinned creepily at them.

"UA's sports festival is coming up."

'Finally, something school like.' Sero thought to himself.

'Is it bad that I keep forgetting that this is an actual school and not a mock military academy?' Momo resisted a chuckle.

"You know that really sounds like something villains would take advantage of." Uraraka pointed out. Izuku nodded in agreement.

"You don't have to worry about that, police presence will be five times bigger than usual, and you're going to have some of the nation's most powerful heroes attending, watching and guarding."

" What you should be focusing on however is the opportunity that this festival will present you. The UA sports festival has the popularity and grandeur like the Olympics had in the past. The whole nation would be watching, and this means that you would be scouted by the pros. And if let's say, Best Jeanist decides to take you under his wing after watching your performance, well, I'd say you have a bright future ahead of you as a hero." Aizawa smirked at them, already seeing determined expressions from Izuku and Ida.

"This festival is held once a year, so this means you kids have a total of three chances to prove yourselves. If you aim to be a successful hero, you cannot slack off during this event. And you already know, I will not have slackers in my class."

He stared, with only two eyes, it felt like he was staring into everyone's soul.

"So, are you ready?"
