Momo sighed loudly, burying her face into her palms. "That was a close call..." She whispered to herself, glad that Sukuna and Mina were safe and sound.
'I'll have a talk with Young Midoriya later...' All Might thought silently, his trademark grin still remaining, though it was noticably smaller than before.
"What did I do to get this kind of class..." Aizawa complained audibly to himself while clutching his head, already feeling a headache forming.
'First a homicidal maniac, then a kid whose control over his quirk is like a baby's, then this kid who seems like he has multiple quirks in one. These brats make street thugs look like saints.' The homeroom teacher thought of certain people in Class 1-A.
"Weird... I could've sworn..." Ida muttered to himself. He swore he saw Sukuna's arm twist at a certain angle from Izuku's punch, but since it had all happened so quickly, Ida hesitantly filed it as him just seeing things, though he'd likely needed to give it another thought later.
"Can't say Midoriya doesn't deserve it..." Mineta commented, as most of the class looked at him, some with surprised faces that he'd say something like that so bluntly. Granted that he always was blunt on certain subjects concerning females, but this was a different story.
"What? Why are you guys looking at me like that? Don't tell me I'm wrong now! Midoriya literally attempted murder on someone's girl. And if it had been any one of us out there besides Sukuna, Ashido would likely be turned into paste, or we'd be the ones going splat." Mineta argued.
"I get that we're supposed to give it our all in this test, but come on now! There's levels to this stuff! It's just a test, not a life threatening situation! What's Midoriya so desperate for?" He continued. Jiro sighed at his words.
"Can't believe I'm agreeing with you..." She grumbled. "But yeah, what's up with him? No one's Quirk is this out of control. Have you guys noticed that whenever he uses his Quirk, he straight up goes to Gear 5 instead of starting off small with Gear 1?" Jiro questioned. All Might watched, a small spike of panic twisting in his gut, unease began creeping in.
His students were too smart for their own good sometimes.
"Well Midoriya did say he was a very late bloomer. So that could explain why he's a glass cannon." Kirishima gave his two cents, still staring at the monitor.
"I might be wrong when I say this... And forgive me... " All eyes were now on Mezo Shoji, a tall, muscular young man with pale gray hair and six arms attached by a web of skin.
"But if Midoriya doesn't take control of his Quirk as soon as possible, he'd be a danger to us all." Shoji declared seriously. The class was silent, all silently agreeing with him.
"Don't worry Shoji, that's where UA plays a role." Aizawa interjected, as all eyes were on him. "We have the necessary resources to help him. But it's up to him if he realize the situation he's in." He sighed again, dreading the paperwork he had to fill later concerning Izuku's injuries.
Meanwhile, back at the building where the battle trial took place. Sukuna was still staring down Izuku who had fallen unconscious, now being taken away by medical droids carrying him on a stretcher.
"Piss off! I can walk by myself!" Bakugo shouted at one of the droids trying to help him up, pushing it away as he slowly got up.
"Yo Bakubro!" He glanced at Mina waving at him. "Nice fight! Can't wait to face you again!" She shouted as Sukuna walked back to her side. Bakugo stared at her before gritting his teeth, his ego damaged once more, by a girl nonetheless. With a couple of moves from her, she had almost defeated him right then and there.
'Remember, there's always someone better than you...' His mind went back to what Sukuna said during the Quirk Apprehension Test after punching him in the face. He clenched his fists, more parts of his ego damaged yet again, not liking that Sukuna was right.
"Tch! Don't get so cocky, pinky! I'll kick your ass one day! And that goes to you too, Sukuna!" He shouted at Mina before pointing at Sukuna.
"You're gonna regret humiliating me!" He declared. Sukuna shrugged.
"Sure. I'll be looking forward to that day I guess..." He mumbled half-heartedly. As Bakugo stomped away, Mina immediately directed her focus on Sukuna.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Are you okay?" Sukuna redirected the question to her.
"Well, I have you to thank." Mina smiled, smacking his arm playfully. Sukuna sighed as they walked back to the monitor room.
"That attack just now gave me a heart attack and a half." She groaned, not wanting to remember it, though her brain said otherwise.
"But seriously are you okay? I thought I saw your bones break from blocking him..." Mina muttered. It had been on her mind for a couple of minutes, the way his arms bent in the most uncomfortable way imaginable.
"It's nothing serious. I'm fine see?" Sukuna waved his arms at her.
"But like I saw it break though... So how is it healed now?... Wait, don't tell me healing powers is part of your Quirk now." She side eyed him. Sukuna didn't reply, he only nodded silently. Mina groaned louder.
"I swear, I don't understand how Quirk genetics work! Well I mean no one fully does but that's besides the point! Your dad has a healing quirk while you're mom has a 'domain' quirk or whatever that power does."
"She can create a domain around her for a certain radius and a certain amount of time. Anything goes inside that domain." He corrected. Mina nodded.
"Yeah well... no wonder your mom was in the top 20 hero rankings all those decades ago. That Quirk is overpowered." She cleared her throat.
"Anyways, I still don't understand how your dad's Quirk and your mom's quirk can give way to a Quirk called 'Demon King'. Like that's so illogical, even in this world's standards." Mina complained. Sukuna remained silent as they exited Ground Beta.
"Well, I read this theory by this doctor the other day..." He began. Mina, being the conspiracy theorist that she always has been, had her attention fully on him.
"There's this concept called Quirk Singularity. The concept's simple, as the generations follow one another, Quirks blend and evolve, producing stronger and more complex Quirks. However, with this increase in power, the Quirks will also become more difficult to control since the human body doesn't evolve quickly enough to keep up." He explained. Mina tilted her head.
"So you think your Quirk is proof of this Quirk Singularity thing? I mean yeah, two completely unrelated quirks create a Quirk that's even more crazier. That theory is scary when you think about it." Mina pointed at herself.
"My mom and dad's quirks are simple if you think about it. Mom has a mutation type quirk, which gives her a different appearance and body chemistry than most humans. While Dad has an emitter type Quirk, allowing him to secrete mildly corrosive fluids like sweat or saliva. Then they had me, a combination and power up of the two quirks." She recounted.
"From birth, I'm already stronger than my dad and mom. Which makes me wonder what kind of Quirk my kids are gonna have."
" Already thinking this far?" Sukuna raised an eyebrow at her. Mina laughed nervously.
" Well you know me... always planning for the future...Hahaha..." She didn't match his gaze.
This girl has become weirder and weirder even since entering UA. Not that he minded though....
To be continued....
