Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: Insurance Policy: The "Exusiai Clause"

When Jeanne heard that Exusiai had crashed the car because of that "strange sensation," her keen intuition told her that it was likely inseparable from her previous use of her Noble Phantasm.

This wasn't exactly unprecedented. She had heard before that during her last "call to the heavens," every single Sankta had been affected. But Jeanne hadn't expected that simply using her Noble Phantasm would impact these Sankta so significantly.

It seemed she would have to be better prepared before using her Noble Phantasm in the future. If a Sankta happened to be in a dangerous situation and ran into this again, wouldn't they die a most unfair death?

"You... also got into a car accident? I feel like the two of us have been a bit of a jinx to our vehicles lately. My car hasn't even been out of the shop for that long."

When Lemuen heard that her younger sister had also crashed today, a wave of complicated emotions surged in her heart. She looked at the depressed Exusiai with a very complex gaze. Combining their recent incidents, she wondered if the two sisters had awakened some sort of "anti-vehicle" trait that led their cars to such tragic ends.

"It wasn't a big deal, the front is just dented in a bit. The biggest loss was just a headlight. But my record of zero accidents that I've kept for so many years has been broken!"

Seeing Exusiai's indignant expression, everyone around her shot her a look of utter disbelief. Not a single person believed the blatant propaganda coming out of her mouth.

While it was true that her driver's licenses weren't revoked due to accidents, but rather due to traffic violations and speeding, how could someone with her "cockroaches-scramble-for-their-lives" driving style have kept a zero-accident record? She must have martyred countless practice cars before she even graduated.

"Quit it. Do you think I don't remember how you learned to drive back home? Good grief, I still have your instructor's phone number."

Lemuen loved seeing her sister's attitude. She wore a very kind smile as she watched the fuming girl before her.

"Driving school doesn't count! Can accidents that happen in driving school even be called traffic accidents? I was just a novice back then, I simply didn't know how to handle the vehicle and caused a few minor, insignificant situations."

It seemed Exusiai remembered her "dark history" quite clearly. She quickly tried to patch up that period of youthful and reckless life experience.

On the side, Croissant wore an "I really want to know" expression as she looked at Exusiai's older sister. She was incredibly curious about what kind of teacher could produce a "special talent" like Exusiai. Even Texas, who only lent a pair of ears as a listener, was quite curious and looked toward where Lemuen sat, hoping to hear some of Exusiai's past blunders.

"You're the only one who could crash a three-box practice car in driving school until it became a one-box car, where even the trunk vanished. To be honest, not just me, but every teacher and even the principal of the driving school thought it was a miracle."

Lemuen looked at Exusiai with amusement, expressing her admiration for this "prodigy" of the driving world. To this day, the record for damage to a training vehicle set by Exusiai has not been surpassed by any challenger. The name Lemuen's sister is still passed down among those learning to drive in Laterano. In fact, her behavior deeply influenced the Laterano vehicle insurance industry, leading them to urgently introduce new regulations to prevent people from destroying practice cars to commit insurance fraud.

"Wow, Exusiai, how did you even manage that? I happen to have a training car I haven't sold yet—why don't you use that to give me a performance!"

Hearing Lemuen's words, Croissant looked at Exusiai with immense curiosity. She truly hadn't expected this "miracle worker" to have such a magical history. She started plotting for that old junker stuck in her hands; although it hadn't cost her anything, it was a loss just sitting there! If Exusiai could crash it into a one-box car, maybe some performance art enthusiast would pay for it?

"That... that was just a mistake. I just accidentally shifted into the wrong gear and accidentally floored the gas... Fine, I didn't know how I did it back then either."

Exusiai tried to defend herself, but thinking back on her actions, she really didn't have a good excuse and could only admit to her sister's words like it was fate.

"Come to think of it, when I finally passed my license, my instructor was moved to tears. She was truly celebrating from the bottom of her heart that I successfully graduated from the driving school!"

Exusiai recalled the scene of her teacher emotionally hugging her, face covered in tears as they celebrated her exam success. It was a very deep memory. Unfortunately, after her license was revoked for the first time due to illegal street racing, she couldn't find that instructor when she went back to the school. She was depressed about it for quite a while.

"That's because the moment you graduated, that instructor resigned. I heard she later became a taxi driver and used the experience gained from training you to become a driver with excellent service."

Seeing what her silly sister was thinking, Lemuen explained the life trajectory she had rewritten for that instructor. However, the woman was now earning far more than she did as an instructor. It could be considered a bizarre form of "blessing in disguise."

"I suddenly feel that Exusiai's instructor was no ordinary person either. To face such a setback and still find a second wind in her career... she definitely wasn't normal," Jeanne, who had been listening on the side, remarked with genuine admiration.

"Wait, weren't we talking about the vehicle accidents? Why did the conversation derail into the story of Lemuen's sister learning to drive?"

Recalling the start of their talk—Exusiai complaining about her crash—they realized how far they had strayed. They didn't quite understand how the "building had tilted" this far, but they were still curious about the dark history. After all, talking about traffic accidents wasn't nearly as interesting as a friend's embarrassing past!

"Ah, right. I knew I forgot to ask something. Since you crashed, do you have to pay for it yourself? Do you need your big sister to help you fix the car while I'm at it?"

Lemuen remembered what she meant to say and snapped her fingers, asking Exusiai, who was still processing the "success story" of her former instructor. Fixing one car or two didn't make much difference, and she might even get the repair fee for the second one waived. After all, her own repair was a high-profit contract; the shop wouldn't have the nerve to ask for more money for a minor fix on another car.

Moreover, while Lemuen had been distressed over the combat damage to her car, the repair costs were fully reimbursed by Laterano! It wouldn't cost her a cent. If it were Lemuen's own personal money, she would have been rolling on the floor crying for her "little car" instead of exposing her sister's past.

"No need, this work vehicle is actually insured. It's just that the fact that I was the driver makes it a bit troublesome. Lungmen insurance seems to have clauses specifically targeting me."

Exusiai was quite dissatisfied with the company that insured Penguin Logistics, especially the clauses they later added known as the "Exusiai Clauses"—it was clearly a form of discrimination! She had protested privately several times, but her protests were useless. Not a single clause was removed!
