Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Who Is This Red-Haired Wolf Sister Who Isn’t As Well-Endowed As This Saintess?

"[Ursus Cursing], where did these two women spring from? Could they be helpers of that wolf cub?"

The burly men didn't even dare to show their heads under Lemuen's gunfire, able only to curse furiously from behind their cover.

"Who [Ursus Cursing] knows what's going on? Joseph went to get the shield. Once he goes up and tanks the Sankta's bullets, we'll finish them off immediately!"

At that moment, a grey-haired man was seen holding a heavy shield, temporarily blocking Lemuen's bullets. However, the impact of the bullets hitting the shield was so intense that it left his arm briefly numb.

"Quick... go! I can't hold out for long! That Laterano gun is too powerful!"

Hearing this, the two men hiding behind the shield took advantage of Lemuen's apparent reload speed to rush out, swinging their machetes toward her. In their eyes, this Laterano with a gun was far more terrifying than the driver; finishing her off as quickly as possible was the best choice.

But in the next instant, they felt a sharp, agonizing pain in their legs. Both men immediately collapsed to the ground, clutching their limbs and howling in pain.

"Aaargh! I'm hit! Joseph, don't just stand there!"

Another submachine gun had appeared in Lemuen's hand. It turned out that the obvious reload earlier was just a feint to give them an opening, creating the illusion that they could counter-attack.

As for why she did it? Naturally, it was because Lemuen had the confidence to hit her targets in a split second, instantly stripping them of their mobility. Besides, submachine gun ammo was expensive! She didn't even know if Laterano would reimburse her for bullet expenses for getting involved in this mess—why waste so many bullets?

Lemuen saw the fellow with the shield charging toward the children and Jeanne's position, but she didn't fire to stop him. These guys thought she was the biggest threat? How naive. They needed to realize that the Lady Saintess wasn't just a pretty face!

Everything went exactly as Lemuen expected. Following the children's startled cries, a burly figure was seen flying backward, his entire body becoming embedded in the wall, knocked unconscious.

"There, there, don't cry anymore. See? The big sisters defeated the bad guys, right? So there's nothing to be afraid of."

Jeanne gently coaxed the three little ones who were clearly terrified. The three children were quite different—a Lupo, a Feline, and an Ursus girl huddled together in tears. However, they shared one thing in common: the Originium crystals visible on their arms and legs. All three were sufferers of Oripathy.

"Really, big sister? Did you really chase away those big bullies? Then can you help us find Wolf Sister? She told us to stay there, but we were caught by the bad guys and brought here. We can't find Wolf Sister now..."

"Alright, alright, I'll help you find Wolf Sister! Tell me, what does this Wolf Sister look like?"

Looking at the three teary-eyed little kids, Jeanne could only agree to find this "Wolf Sister" first, otherwise, the three children would start crying again.

"Um... Wolf Sister wears black clothes with a hood!" "Wolf Sister's tail and hair are red, and compared to you, sister, her chest seems... flat..." "Wolf Sister is really amazing..." ...

The three little sprouts prattled on, and Jeanne managed to get the gist of it. The "Wolf Sister" they spoke of was a Lupo with red hair and a red tail who wasn't as well-endowed as herself. And according to them, the Lupo was quite good at fighting.

"Wait for me a moment. Play with that sister for a bit, and I'll find Wolf Sister for you."

With that, Jeanne left the three children in Lemuen's care and walked over to the three burly Ursus men.

Thump!

The men saw Jeanne pull out a flagpole from seemingly nowhere, looking at them with icy eyes. Jeanne currently gave off an aura that suggested if their next words didn't please her, she would crush their heads. Looking at the guy still embedded in the wall who hadn't woken up yet, they knew this woman wasn't just joking.

"Speak. What grudge do you have with that Lupo that makes you willing to lay hands on children just to get information on her?"

As the leader was trying to think of a lie that Jeanne might believe, he saw the flagpole strike the ground five centimeters from his ear, shattered stone hitting his face.

"Don't even think about lying to me! I can distinguish whether what you say is a lie or the truth. If you think you're smart enough to deceive me... you're welcome to try."

Jeanne had shed her usual gentle, spring-breeze-like temperament. Now, she was more like a battle-hardened general, interrogating the captured enemy with a chilling aura.

"It's... the wanted poster the military police issued yesterday. They even offer pure gold just for information... We saw her with three children looking for something, and then she hid the children here and disappeared... we got greedy... that's really all of it!"

"What did she do to be wanted by the military police at a time like this? Also, what is her name?"

Jeanne frowned slightly, realizing this wasn't simple. Someone carrying three Infected children while being hunted by the underworld... the plot was enough to film three movies.

"We don't know her specific name. She suddenly appeared in Chernobog; there's no trace of her before. She took advantage of the city's district disassembly to go and assassinate an official, but she was spotted by the military police monitoring that person, leading to a failed assassination..."

From this person's description, was that Lupo a professional assassin? She actually understood how to strike when everyone's attention was drawn by the district transfers? She was just unlucky to run into the Ursus military police, which exposed her actions; otherwise, she would have left the city by now.

But why would an assassin be carrying three children? Bringing three little kids would only hinder her movements. Regardless, she had to find the person first.

Jeanne shook her head and tossed the two men aside. It wasn't that Jeanne was afraid to kill, but she felt it was best not to do so in front of children; it wouldn't be a good influence on them.

Jeanne began to follow the guidance of Revelation to search for the red-haired Wolf Sister, leaving the area in Lemuen's care. For a Sankta who had been to countless dangerous zones, the difficulty of watching these thugs was basically kindergarten-level.

As for the Wolf Sister they were looking for, she was currently pursuing someone, unaware that her "base" had already been raided by others.
