Chapter 13 - Don't Change for Anybody

I wasn't sure what to do. Now, mom and dad have disappeared. My two sons were still fighting each other. I wanted to give up changing into a wild animal, before somebody gets hurt. I continued watching Mark and Valentino slugging each other in the corner as I ducked out of the way. As one of my hairy animal sons tossed a kitchen plate toward my direction. Almost smacking me in the face. I turned around and looked behind the cave wall behind me. I saw the pieces of shattered plate to pieces, next to me.

I hid behind the kitchen counter. Watching my two sons clawing and biting at each other's neck and scratching their hairy chests. I didn't know how to keep this from worsening. I must stop my two sons from killing each other.

I continued watching Mark and Valentino slugging each other, not taking a break from their fight. I gasped when I turned away from them after they both suddenly covered their big, furry ears. They must be hearing something to make them go deaf.

Looking around the kitchen table, a strong man's hand quickly grabbed me from behind! I almost screamed, when my eyes got wide with fright. As I saw a man's hand being placed over my mouth.

It was my husband, Russell Changeling! "Stay calm, love," he whispered to me, putting a finger to his lips to silence me. Russell held a silver dog whistle up to my face. "This will complete the change, love," Russell said.

I didn't want to believe my husband, he was telling the truth. When we turned to hear our two sons howling, like they were in pain. Then, Russell quickly pushed me aside and jumped up from behind the kitchen table we hid behind. Taking the silver dog whistle in his grasp, I turned and watched Russell blowing into the silver dog whistle to his lips. I couldn't hear anything. But as I turned and watched my two sons, Mark and Valentino, doubled over in pain. Covering their ears, Mark and Valentino were howling in agony. I gasped when I saw what was happening!

As Russell continued blowing into the silver dog whistle, I watched as my two hairy sons started shredding their black, thick animal fun on their animal bodies. After Mark and Valentino had completely shedded their fur, they were both shirtless, and only wore torn shorts and were also barefooted.

I hurried over to them, and wrapped them both in a hug around their shoulders. I watched as Russell came over to us. He tucked the silver dog whistle under his yellow collared shirt he wore. "I'm so sorry this happened to you, my two sons," Russell said, affectionately. "It seems the full moon has some kind of power over the Dark Moon Worshiper making everybody a little crazy," Russell said, honestly.

"What are we going to do about him, love?" I asked. "We have to take them to our dead granny in the graveyard. I think she can help our two sons find a cure for their transformation," I said. I don't know if we were ready to meet up with our living dead members in our family. Who is connected with the supernatural occult who promises to unleash the wild beast human nature to keep them separated from the normal citizens throughout our little imaginary town of make-believe.

Russell nodded and snapped his fingers to gain our attention. "Yes, of course! Why didn't I think our granny could do something to lift the animal curse from our two sons, from getting permanent?" he said, reassuringly.

I wanted to make sure Mark and Valentino were okay, going to the graveyard tonight, to summon their granny. "Boys, we're going to visit granny," I said. Russell walked over to us by the cave next to the wall by the kitchen table. "She'll know how to keep the Dark Moon Worshipers from cursing you forever," I continued, coping with my two sons.

Mark and Valentino were looking at me with wry eyes. They were also breathing heavily. "I'm too pooped to continue going any further, mom," Mark said, grabbing hold of his chest and trying not to lose his breath.

Valentino nodded and put a hand to rest on my shoulder. "Mark is right. We're both worn out from feeling exhausted fighting over nothing to get worried about," Valentino said. "Can we sleep here, in our cave in the woods, tonight?" he asked, lovingly.

I turned and looked at my husband, and we both nodded and agreed. "Yes, we'll go see granny tomorrow morning, first thing," Russell said, smiling at them. This made us all feel better and comforting to have each other together and safe.

"Let's all get some rest and see what happens tomorrow morning," I said. We turned to look at the other side of the cave wall. There was only one bed mattress with a worn out old-looking used pillow. And no covers and bedsheets on the bed mattress.

"This is going to work out for us," I groaned, turning away in disgust to look at my husband for answers.

He walked over to the bed mattress by the cave wall. "It's not bad, babe," Russell explained. I watched as Russell touched the bed to test how first the mattress was. "The boys can sleep here, and you and I will sleep together on the ground, next to the bed mattress," he said.

"Are you sure it won't make us wake up sore in the morning, babe?" I asked, looking with dread and worry at the bed mattress.

Before any of us could respond, there was a burst of cold air coming from the front of the wooden door in our cave. It swung open, blowing out our lighted candles in the cave, plunging us into darkness.

Standing in the doorway of the front cave entrance, was the ghost of our dead granny. In the glow of lightning from the thunderstorm outside the cave, granny was floating toward us. "None of you are going anywhere," she said. Lightning flashed from the thunderstorm outside the cave door. We trembled in granny's dead presence. As she we watched her float toward our doom, laughing hysterically.
