Chapter 25 - [Game 1 - Prelims] Player 6: I am the Hunter

Chapter 25: Player 6: I am the Hunter

Werewolf is a team game.

The slaughter and gambits between factions require every member of the team to give their all.

Especially for a Wolf Team who know each other, they must coordinate closely to have any chance of defeating the Good Guys.

Therefore, every word spoken between teammates should be carefully scrutinized.

Player 6 understood that Player 5 wanted her to claim a God Card.

After all, she had been targeted by many people yesterday.

In this round, they Absolutely could not let any of them be exiled.

Otherwise, they might as well just forfeit.

So, in order to avoid being voted out this round, Player 6...

Since Player 5 had claimed to be a Villager, she had to choose a God Card to claim.

As for which God Card to claim, that required careful consideration.

Claiming to be the Guard directly would likely not be believed by anyone.

Because the True Guardian wouldn't reveal themselves in this round.

But if she claimed to be the Hunter... as long as no one in the later positions counter-claimed, there was no way she would be voted out.

This meant the Player 6 had to judge for herself where the Hunter might be located.

Especially Player 7, who had attacked her Wolf Teammate, Player 5, yesterday.

Out of the corner of her eye, the Player 6 stole a glance at Wang Changsheng.

This guy was still a Golden Water.

And he was speaking after her in the turn order.

If the identity she claimed clashed with his...

...then today would be a certain death sentence... but there was no other way.

She had to claim a God Role Card.

Taking a long breath in her heart.

Player 6 puffed out her cheeks and tilted her head, pretending to think for a moment: "Should I reveal my identity?"

She feigned a look of slight hesitation and even glanced at the Player 10 Seer.

After stalling for a while, she finally showed a determined expression and spoke up, "Forget it, I'll just reveal my identity directly. I am the Hunter."

The Player 6 blinked her large eyes; her nose was delicate and her teeth were like pearls.

Her mind had raced through several scenarios before she chose to claim the Hunter Role.

"My reason for voting for Player 9 yesterday is simple. First, because the Seer's final call was for Player 9. Since I'm siding with Player 10, I definitely have to follow his lead."

"Also, during my speech yesterday, I actually wanted to say there was no need to check me at night because I'm a 'gun'. Even if checked, I'd just be a Golden Water. But since it was the Seer's decision, even though I know I'm a Good Guy, I couldn't change your badge flow before you verified me as a Golden Water."

"So, if you check me, you check me. Once you verify me as a Golden Water, even if you're eliminated, I could lead the team as the Hunter without any issues. But I didn't expect the person in the last position yesterday to suggest checking one of us between Player 5 and Player 6!"

"I was shocked at the time. I thought there was no need to reveal my identity in the last round, but I didn't expect it to fall on me. Although I can fire a shot as the Hunter, aside from Player 9 who cast a bandit vote, I haven't really identified the locations of the werewolves. Plus, many people haven't revealed their identities. If I'm voted out and accidentally shoot the Guard, what then?"

"So if I had been voted out last round, I probably would have only been able to take Player 9 with me. That was the second reason I voted for Player 9."

"After all, I didn't know who you would vote for between Player 5 and Player 6. If I were eliminated and took another Good Guy with me, the Good Guys' advantage would completely collapse."

The Player 6's voice sounded soft and sweet.

Her speech was also full of logic.

Except for Player 4.

The other Good Guys were all nodding to themselves upon hearing her reasons for voting.

Even her Wolf Teammate, Player 5, secretly showed an approving expression.

Only Player 4 was the exception.

He couldn't smile at all.

As someone who had already spoken in an earlier position...

He hadn't chosen to reveal his identity.

He didn't expect his 'clothes' to be stolen by someone behind him—no, by a wolf!

It was unbelievable!

Holy crap!

Player 4 was full of regret now.

He should have revealed his identity directly.

However, that's how Werewolf goes.

Sometimes, one wrong step...

Can lead to eternal damnation.

Although as the Hunter, he wasn't afraid of being eliminated.

After all, even if he was eliminated, he could just fire his gun and shoot the wolf who dared to steal his clothes.

But the current situation was...

No one on the field was even talking about him!

He was like someone on the judges' panel.

No one said he was a Good Guy, but no one said he was a wolf either.

He was just left hanging high up on a pedestal.

What the hell was he supposed to do?

Although Player 4 really wanted to make a sour face...

He couldn't.

Otherwise, the system might judge that he was using facial expressions to convey information.

"Damn it, am I just supposed to watch her live until tomorrow while wearing my clothes?" Player 4 nearly ground his teeth to dust.

If Player 6 was allowed to wear his clothes this round and a Good Guy was voted out from the outer positions, the Good Guys would likely lose their lead in rounds.

Player 4 was filled with extreme regret.

Yet, there was nothing he could do.

Player 6 continued to talk eloquently.

"Although Player 5 attacked me yesterday, I think his explanation this round is very solid. I also feel that Player 2 is a card whose words and actions don't match. As a Werewolf, he knew Player 9 might be a Good Guy being eliminated, so although he wanted to push me and Player 5 out last round, once the Seer called for Player 9, he just chose to go along with the vote."

"Because if Player 9 is a Good Guy, it benefits him regardless of whether he votes for 9 or someone among 5 and 6."

The Player 6 paused slightly here.

By claiming to be the Hunter, she protected Player 5.

If no one in the later positions counter-claimed against her...

Then the Seer might actually choose to vote out Player 2.

With the two wolves sitting here, even if the Good Guys realized tomorrow that they were actually linked, it wouldn't matter.

They would just have to have a showdown with the Guard then.

But if someone in the later positions counter-claimed... the Player 6 thought about it and felt it was unlikely.

She felt the Hunter should be among those who had already spoken.

Especially Player 4.

He seemed very firm in the last round.

He sounded very confident.

He might be the one holding the Hunter Role.

Regarding Player 4's identity...

Player 5 and Player 6 had a slight disagreement.

The Player 6 didn't think Player 4 was the Guard just because he stood up and praised the Guard; on the contrary, she thought he was more likely to be the Hunter.

But whatever it was didn't really matter.

Player 4 definitely wasn't a Villager Card anyway.

"Of course, we can't rule out that Player 9 was a Werewolf. If Player 9 was a wolf, Player 2 wouldn't dare keep clamoring to vote me out, and it's possible he was forced to follow the Seer and vote out his own Wolf Teammate."

The Player 6 didn't let her speech entirely assume that Player 9 had left as a Good Player Card.

She also left open the possibility of him being a Werewolf.

By analyzing both sides like this, it would increase her credibility as the Hunter in the eyes of the other Good Guys.

"So if Player 9 was a Good Guy, then Player 2 is a wolf, Player 8 might be a wolf, and Player 12 might be a wolf, since Player 12 protected Player 2."

"But if Player 9 was a Werewolf, then Player 2 is a wolf, and Player 8 might be a Good Guy, since she was the first to stand up and attack Player 9. In that case, Player 12 still falls into the pit."

"This is the wolf pit I've identified: Player 7 and Player 11 are Golden Water, and I have a good feeling about Player 4 and Player 5. I am the Hunter, and Player 10 is the Seer. There are only a few positions left. Regardless of whether Player 9 was a wolf or a Good Guy, Player 2, whose words and actions don't match, must be a wolf. So I'll likely vote for Player 2 this round, unless I hear the sister at Player 8 sounding more like a wolf later."

Having said this, the Player 6 let out a small sigh of relief.

She felt her speech was completely flawless.

She nodded with satisfaction: "That's all for now."

"Pass."
