Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Baby Mode Pack for Cowards

-----------------------------------------------------------------

📰 Post Title Where the fuck is the asshole who recommended World of Doom? They said no jumpscares but they fucking pop out everywhere

For real, wanna strangle the recommender 💬 Comments — Anonymous It's a horror game—of course there are jumpscares. You've been bitching non-stop. — Reply They pop out every three minutes—how the hell are we supposed to play this shit? — Anonymous That's just how the game is. — Anonymous Hate jumpscares? Try installing Baby Mode. — Reply Such a thing exists? — Reply Mod tab has the Baby Mode Pack for Cowards.

Age 23.

Name: Lee Do-hyun.

While browsing communities for a game to play before heading back to school after discharge, I came across a recommendation for a roguelike open-world horror game.

I don't have much tolerance for horror games, but the claim that it was roguelike with few jumpscares barely put my mind at ease enough to dip my toes in...

In the first hour of gameplay, I must've seen over thirty jumpscares.

I spilled the water I was drinking from the fright and smacked the monitor dozens of times.

But downloading the Baby Mode Pack for Cowards? My pride wouldn't allow it.

"Baby Mode Pack for Cowards? Me, installing something like that?"

It bruised my ego badly, but my fingers had already clicked the download button for the Baby Mode Pack for Cowards.

No, what am I supposed to do when jumpscares keep popping up so much I can't progress?!

Better to clear it somehow than throw a tantrum like some whiny girl and demand a refund!

Getting caught by a yokai triggers [GAME OVER] right away, plastering the screen with jumpscares. If that keeps happening, I can't even play.

They need to tone down the difficulty a bit for it to be enjoyable.

"Changing yokai appearances and swapping ruin levels for affection? What kind of bullshit is this?"

Skimming the mod pack description, it seemed the urban legend-solving game had turned into a dating sim where you seduce yokai?

An ending where you get dragged off by yokai and live happily ever after? Sounds good...

⚙ MOD DESCRIPTION ⚙ [Seduce the yokai and prevent the world's destruction.] ・Humanoid yokai become beautiful girls. ・Yokai affection system added. ・Stats and drop rates increased 10x. ・122 convenience mods added.

The game's vibe changed completely.

Farming and companion collection seemed to take center stage over horror now.

The creepy yokai with gaping holes for eyes had all turned into cute girls, and most of the middle-aged male NPCs were now women too.

Seduce yokai, make them allies, stop the ancient god's revival? Sounds doable.

This is playable.

I immediately hit 'Create New Character' and made one.

The class I picked this time: Fixer.

The game featured church Exorcists, shaman-line Spirit Mediums, spell-wielding Sorcerers, and Onmyoji handling familiars.

Each class had unique abilities and traits, but the Fixer I chose had none.

Instead, it could mimic other classes' skills. A total copycat ninja class.

Of course, as a jack-of-all-trades, it was a mediocre jackass with no specialties.

Peel back the layers, and it was basically a defective battle mage.

'But in Baby Mode, Fixer is the best.'

The mod said Fixers could copy all other classes' skills perfectly, even traits. Gotta start as Fixer no question.

"Alright then."

Finished setting up the character and finally hit 'New Game'.

The moment I did...

A deafening roar came from the PC tower, and a blinding light burst from the monitor.

And just like that, I got isekai'd into the horror game—with Easy Mode installed.
