Synopsis
In the realm of Somnia, dreamkeepers protect sleeping mortals from nightmares and guide them through peaceful dreams. Amelia is unlike any other Somnian—her luminescent skin bears swirling cloud-like patterns, and her powers are dangerously unpredictable, flickering between overwhelming strength and complete absence. During her final training trial under the ancient Sandman's watchful eye, Amelia struggles to maintain her light while protecting a sleeping child. When shadows threaten to pull the girl into a nightmare, Amelia's power fails her at the critical moment. But instead of giving up, she does something thought impossible: she enters the child's nightmare directly, confronting the demon within and driving it away with her light. The Sandman is shocked. What Amelia has done should be impossible for any dreamkeeper. He reveals that she possesses "the rarest gift of all Somnians"—a power so dangerous that no one can ever discover she has it. Before Amelia can demand answers, he warns her that all Somnians are "losing their touch" to something called "the Fading" and vanishes, leaving her alone and confused. A mysterious shadow agent emerges from the darkness, his presence both terrifying and strangely familiar. When Amelia tries to defend herself, her powers fail completely. The shadow agent reveals he's not there to harm her—instead, he claims he's been inside her dreams and can read her thoughts without permission. He circles her like a predator, getting close enough to whisper in her ear that she "dreams louder than she thinks." As quickly as he appeared, the shadow agent vanishes, leaving Amelia shaken and questioning everything. She's left with more questions than answers: What is her rare gift? What is the Fading that threatens all dreamkeepers? Who is the mysterious shadow agent, and why has he been watching her dreams? And most troubling of all—why does some part of her feel drawn to him despite the danger he represents? The battle for the dream realm has only just begun, and Amelia is at the center of it all.
