On the only official air route between the Twin Cities and Demacia, a Zeppelin was flying towards Demacia, filled with Chen's old acquaintances.
Inside Demacia Imperial City.
Chen and Powder had called Lux over, and they were already slacking off, playing cards. After all, they only needed to do the initial planning; the subsequent tasks were no longer their concern.
Just then, Jarvan suddenly burst in. Chen immediately stepped forward to block Jarvan's line of sight. Powder quickly waved to Lux, and both, feeling guilty, instantly gathered all their cards.
"What are you doing?"
Jarvan poked his head in to look, but Chen subtly shifted half a step to block him:
"Nothing. Jarvan, what are you looking for me for?"
Jarvan secretly glimpsed Lux hiding poker cards. He pretended not to see, pulled out a document containing a map and papers, and said:
"It's like this, take a look. Recently, our soldiers have been ambushed in several places. From their wounds, some show signs of axe cuts, very deep, and also blunt force trauma. All the wounds are fatal. The enemies are definitely well-trained soldiers."
At this point, Jarvan's brows furrowed tightly. The document contained a drawing:
"Look, but the strangest thing is that even though it's summer here, many of the deceased soldiers' wounds show traces of frost, heavily frozen. Could it be that group of mages who escaped?"
Chen took the drawing of the deceased and observed it carefully. Wounds from an axe cut like this should cause a large amount of blood to gush out, yet it looked as if it had been frozen.
Chen immediately sensed something was wrong and turned to Lux:
"No, it's the middle of summer now. Do you have a way to use ice magic?"
Lux shook her head, tapping her smooth cheek with her finger:
"If there's a large source of ice nearby, then yes. We usually control the elements abundant in the world to release corresponding magic. For example, I store light energy during the day."
Chen took the map and observed it from all angles, pointing out several locations where Demacian soldiers were harmed:
"These places are unlikely to have ice sources, so it's improbable that they are Demacian mages."
Lux nodded; she thought the same:
"Demacia has no icy, snowy places. Without sufficient frost elements, ice mages cannot be nurtured."
Jarvan asked Chen with concern:
"This makes me even more uncomfortable. Do you think it's possible LeBlanc from Noxus did it?"
"LeBlanc doesn't use frost spells..."
Chen stroked his chin, pretending to have a long, immortal-like beard:
"Wait... North of Demacia, Freljord! They are all Iceborn Subjugation; the mages born there are all Iceborn mages!"
But Jarvan said with great confidence:
"Between Freljord and Demacia, there are continuous snow-capped mountains, a natural barrier. All the passable areas are guarded by our soldiers. There's no way they could sneak through! Look again at the locations where the incidents occurred; they are all within our borders, and getting closer and closer to Demacia!"
This, in turn, made Chen feel uneasy. Just then, the system suddenly popped up a notification:
"Chapter Three: Demacia's Uprising."
"Final Mission: Capture Sylas."
"Reward: Needless Large Rod, one random Freljord basic skill."
"Ah?"
Chen looked at the system in shock. The system was no longer just hinting; it was practically writing out this unhappened plot:
"Sylas, craving revenge on Demacia, became a turncoat and led the Freljord people to invade!"
If Demacia fell, his great money-making venture would end, and Chen couldn't accept that!
Chen immediately circled the locations where Demacian soldiers were harmed, connecting them with a line. He urgently said to Jarvan:
"Jarvan, it's the Freljord people! Sylas brought them. Don't ask me how I know; just say I predicted the future!"
Although Jarvan found it hard to believe, he still trusted Chen:
"What should we do? Should I lead troops to encircle and annihilate them now?"
But at this moment, Chen's mind spun, and a sinister smile appeared on his face:
"Sylas, leading the Freljord people, is heading directly for Demacia. Along the way, they will avoid cities, aiming to take Demacia in one fell swoop. Fine, let him come!"
Jarvan looked at Chen as if he were crazy:
"Chen, have you gone mad? You're actually letting them march directly to Demacia?"
Chen smiled faintly, and a nearly perfect plan formed in his mind:
"Hey, this is actually a good thing. It can eliminate internal strife, and at the same time, it can naturally lift the anti-magic decree, and also help you catch Sylas."
Jarvan looked at Chen's confident demeanor and anxiously asked:
"What do you mean by this? What do you intend to do?"
Chen patted Jarvan's shoulder:
"Your Majesty, don't rush. I will explain it to you slowly..."
In Chen's understanding, Sylas bringing the Freljord people was not a bad thing. As long as Galio was there, he wasn't afraid of being unable to defeat these invading Freljord people.
Unless their demigods, Ornn and Volibear, personally appeared, but that was impossible.
Let the people of Demacia personally experience foreign invasion, let them see the enemy reach their homes, and ignite the belief in Demacian unity.
Demacia was currently fragmented. A good way to stop the internal strife was to make them realize that if they didn't unite, they would all perish!
Make all the great families of Demacia realize that now was not the time for internal conflict; now was the time to unite against the enemy!
At the same time, in this battle, let Galio, Shyvana, and Lux be the main force. Let the common people, let the Demacians clearly know who protected and saved them?
A colossus made of magic!
A giant dragon symbolizing magic!
And a mage from Demacia's largest family, the Crownguard Family!
Through this war, tell the Demacians that magic can be controlled, and magic can also protect Demacians!
Thereby changing Demacians' views on magic. Most people would not repay kindness with resentment, nor would they question those who saved them, even if they were mages.
"As long as after the war, we extensively promote and tell the people that magic saved Demacia this time, and then, through the power of articles and culture, completely change the people's prejudice against magic!"
Chen seemed to have everything under control:
"Then, my partners from the Twin Cities are already on their way. Hextech will change Demacia's future, bringing immense convenience to everyone! Let the people personally experience that magic is a good thing, not destruction!"
At this moment, Chen suddenly raised his fist, looked at the sky, and laughed loudly:
"Having a sword in hand and whether or not to use it are two different things."
Jarvan understood Chen's meaning. He now felt that the wisest thing he had ever done was to become friends with Chen and cooperate with him.
Meanwhile, Lux's hands trembled slightly, and the light of magic flickered wildly within her. She broke through the last barrier in her heart, and now she finally found the meaning of her magic:
"From the Rune Wars until now, magic has never done anything wrong; the fault has always been with people!"
"And magic is now in my own hands. I must bring light to Demacia!"
