Gojo tilted his head, a cool curiosity crossing his face. "You actually recognize these eyes?"
Robert Sterling's Kenjaku wore the specific gravity of a scholar finally getting to use research he never expected an occasion for.
"Even Tengen, with all his thousands of years of observation, was blind to this secret. Eight hundred years ago, traveling the ancient eastern trade routes, I found a half-collapsed mural inside a forgotten mountain temple. I dismissed it as religious myth at the time."
"But the ancient texts were specific. They recorded that when Sakyamuni attained ultimate enlightenment and descended to the mortal plane, he stood with one hand pointing to the heavens and the other to the earth, his eyes radiating a golden, six-pointed star — a biological state entirely distinct from your family's standard hereditary trait."
"The scriptures detail he was exactly twenty-nine years of age when he attained that final enlightenment." Kenjaku's eyes held Gojo's with the specific intensity of a man laying out a proof. "You were born in December 1989. Right now, on this battlefield, the calendar reads December 2018. You have just crossed the threshold of your twenty-ninth year."
"And before Sakyamuni reached that state, he faced the absolute personification of mortality — the God of Death. The mural depicted their final confrontation. Sakyamuni triumphed, yet he was struck down in the process — divided, crossing into physical death, only to attain absolute awakening and rewrite his own vessel from the ashes."
"Every coordinate of your existence aligns with the path of the enlightened one."
The audience's collective reaction arrived as something close to vertigo — the sudden, retroactive recognition that three seasons of hand seals, the specific posture of certain techniques, a particular visual grammar that had always read as aesthetic, had in fact been architecture all along.
[I am going to need everyone to understand that the Taishakuten seal was never just a cool hand pose. Leo Vance built a religious mythology into this character from Season 1 and let us think it was just style.]
[Some genuinely unhinged person has already confirmed on Reddit that the historical Buddha did renounce his old life and reach enlightenment at twenty-nine. I don't know what to do with that information. I'm just going to sit here.]
The hashtag organizing around the reveal climbed the global trending charts within minutes, breaking the records the unsealing episode had set only weeks earlier.
On screen, the cataclysm continued without pause.
Thick rivers of black cursed energy still spiraled toward Kenjaku's coordinate, a localized black hole drawing in everything the country had to offer. Beside him, Sukuna stood rigid — four arms frozen, pupils entirely devoid of consciousness. A standing biological processor, nothing more.
Gojo tested the dark energy shield with a localized burst of Blue. The spatial friction simply absorbed it.
"Don't waste your divine energy, Gojo Satoru," Kenjaku laughed, the sound carrying a dual, ancient resonance that shook dust from the surrounding ruins. "I admit — you have officially stepped into the Gods Domain. But even if you are a god, the entity I am currently consolidating from the souls of this country will be an Evil God of absolute, cosmic scale."
He studied the man radiating quiet golden light with the burning curiosity of a scholar who has found a question worth more than the answer he's stalling for.
"As a scholar of the occult, I remain genuinely curious. How did you survive that spatial severing? Your vessel was cleanly divided. Even the highest output of the Reverse Cursed Technique cannot heal a brain separated from its lower reservoir. How did you resurrect?"
Gojo tilted his head, the calm, lazy smile of someone with nothing to lose by answering.
"I know you're stalling for your harvest. I don't mind satisfying your curiosity. Honestly, I have to thank you for it."
"If you hadn't trapped me inside that Prison Realm — where the linear flow of time inside and outside the barrier is entirely distorted — I never would have had the quiet, isolated space to analyze the true nature of my own technique."
"And during the month before this battle — did you really think I was just napping?"
"I spent my days going through theories on space-time coordinates. Specifically, the work of a particular twentieth-century physicist. General and Special Relativity. The constancy of the speed of light. The equivalence principle. The curvature of space-time."
The screen cut briefly to artistic black-and-white footage — Gojo in a sunlit room, surrounded by physics textbooks, scribbling equations in the margins of a script with the specific irritated focus of someone forced to learn something the hard way.
"Space and time aren't independent vectors," he continued. "They're fused into a single four-dimensional fabric. The curvature of that continuum, caused by mass and energy, is what we perceive as gravity."
He shrugged, spreading his hands. "To keep it simple for a parasite like you — the Limitless has always functioned by manipulating space at the atomic level through gravitational attraction and repulsion."
"But since my eyes evolved into the Super Six Eyes, my perception transcended the spatial barrier entirely. I realized that if space and time are one fabric, then manipulating the curvature of gravity inevitably manipulates the flow of time as well."
"My standard Hollow Purple fires imaginary mass into the physical plane."
"Now... I can imbue the space around my own vessel with imaginary time."
"At the exact microsecond Sukuna's slash crossed my coordinate, I used the Super Six Eyes to trigger a localized temporal reversion. To the outside world, I was divided. But to the space-time fabric immediately surrounding my body — the event reverted before the physical division could sever my nervous system."
Kenjaku's expression twisted into something the audience had never seen on him before: genuine, unguarded disbelief.
"Imaginary time? A temporal reversion? That's absurd. Absolutely ridiculous. Even a god cannot manipulate the arrow of time. The Space Slash applied the concept of space to a cutting vector — it never rewrote the laws of causality."
"You are lying."
[I love that the explanation is, on its face, completely insane, and Kenjaku, a thousand-year-old body-hopping mastermind who has personally witnessed several apocalypses, is the one calling it absurd. The bar for "too much" in this show keeps moving and Kenjaku just found it.]
"Assimilation," Kenjaku roared, his composure cracking into sudden, desperate panic. "Absorb!"
The dark vortex tightened. Sukuna's frozen frame began to buckle and decompress — thick black muscle surging outward, his pupils flickering with a brief, final spark of white as his ancient ego fought the crushing volume of a hundred million souls.
"Sukuna—"
"As expected of the King of Curses," Kenjaku praised, manic. "To resist the gravitational pull of a hundred million lives, even for a single second!"
The King's final roar shook the ruins. Then the black energy consumed his pupils entirely, and his physical vessel ruptured — expanding into a colossal, hundred-meter Chimera of ink-black flesh, thousands of writhing hands and screaming mouths suspended against the Shinjuku sky.
Mountain Retreat. The cabin sat frozen.
"This is too grotesque," Asher Reed said, his hands gripping his knees. "The King of Curses turned into a literal cosmic horror?"
"Director Leo's visual imagination is terrifying," Zoe F. whispered, clutching her cushion. "The way the light bends around those hands — it feels like the screen is actually going to swallow us."
Chloe Vance, near the back, rested her chin on her hands. "Kenjaku's plan actually succeeded. He manipulated Sukuna, Tengen, and all of Jujutsu High to build this."
On screen, Kenjaku stood atop a distant, cracked skyscraper, arms thrown wide, looking up at the entity he had spent a thousand years assembling.
"EXCELLENT!"
"The cursed energy output of this Evil God of Shinjuku is precisely four hundred times Ryomen Sukuna's prime!"
"Let's see who else in this universe has the strength to stand in my sky."
The screen cut to black.
