A Katana. A type of sword that first originated in the land of the east sun or the land of the rising sun, depending on how you feel like pronouncing. But they are different, while most swords have two edges a Katana only has one sharp edge and a dull edge. Think of it like a big knife, except made from pure iron some Tungsten depending on the region you visit.
"Is that a giant knife?" Catherine inquired.
A katana has three parts. The blade itself which single edged and curved slightly. It also has a guard and holder. The guard is normally to prevent one from cutting off their fingers on the blade. Since when your still new to using it you might accidentally grab the blade instead of the handle. The last part is the hilt or the part of the blade you hold to swing.
The man in white's katana had a white guard that was circular and inscription of what looked like a dragon drawn in a cartoon-ish style. The hilt was also white and a flower like pattern on it. The scabbard of the sword was also white matching to his entirely white, it was also made of metal other than the traditional bamboo.
"I suppose that's one way of seeing it." He didn't unsheathe it, "I call this beauty Shizen."
"Shi-what?"
"Shizen, it means nature in Japanese."
CRACK!
The window near the seat the man was sitting in cracked, on the other side was a man in a suit crashing through the window.
"I've got you now."
SLICE!
Gil didn't react, he couldn't. The second he wanted to get up the man in white had already done the job. Slicing off the man's torso in one slice.
"Wow."
"Don't get to excited." Akame reminded, there are plenty more where that one came from. 'I did find it weird that we were the only passengers in this cart.'
"What do they want from us?" Catherine asked, her face unserious perhaps the situation hasn't hit her yet or rather she just doesn't care too much I mean she couldn't really take any physical damage.
"You think they're here to kill me?" Asked the man.
"I don't think that's the full story, we'll need more time to sus it out." He weighed his options in his mind, "For now we're going to split up for a bit. You three stay here while I go and investigate the other parts."
"Move over!" Catherine commanded squeezing her way to the other side. She pointed at Akame. "No, last time you left me out of the action, I'm coming this time round."
"No offense but you don't look like the sneaky type." Quipped the man.
"I'm totally sneaky. Look." She hopped over the the body of the man who was sliced in half, "See, sneaky. I'll take out all the bad guys." She curled her hands into fists punching the air.
"Alright let's go."
"Yaay!" She skipped over to the next cart, "Do not fear Akame I shall protect you."
"Thanks, I feel safer already." His face was expressionless as he turned to look at the two, "You guys hold down the fort, if any pass us they'll be headed straight for you."
The two nodded.
Akame closed the door disappearing in the other cart of the train.
"How did you do that?" Gil asked with clear excitement in his eyes.
"Oh? It's a sword technique I learned on the island."
"Can I do it?"
"Sure, if you work like a maniac at it. "The man smiled, "However, I don't think swords are the best fit for someone like you."
"Uh, really why not?" Gil frowned.
"You said you could use Jujutsu well you could mimic whatever it was you saw on screen. The type of kick Akame described was a three way kick normally used to paralyze one side of the body. But that only works of you have control over your fragment energy. But since your leaking fragment energy everywhere I can tell you don't have that yet."
"Yeah, Blake and Akame tell me the same thing every time."
'Your sloppy, just because you have a ton of fragment energy doesn't mean you should waste all of it.' They'd lecture him from time to time.
"They said it was because of my body, which is why I have to do at least 1000 push-ups a day."
"Well at least they taught you something. However, they've started you off at an insanely high level."
"Really?"
"Yeah, normally first you unlock at the very least four to five gates, then maintain them. Can you enhance body parts using fragment energy?"
"Um… yeah."
"Like I said, high level. No wonder your sloppy at controlling fragment energy. I can also tell you come from a place where there's a large concentration of fragment energy which is probably a large factor."
"But why would they do that though?" Gil asked, "They're really strong so I just assumed they'd set me up on that road."
"Them being incredibly strong is the problem." The man explained, "Nobody whose reached the pinnacle of power of fragment energy can teach you how to achieve that level of power for two specific reasons.
Everyone has a different way of achieving strength, as such there is no right or wrong way. And even then strength in a fight isn't determined by power alone but by other factors during combat. Sometimes the strongest people don't know how to lower themselves back down to your level so they can start building you up.
It's like how teachers need to go to training on how to teach. Just because you know something doesn't mean you can teach it proficiently. Which ever the case maybe I can try and straighten you out a little bit, shape out the edges."
Gil nodded, 'Its just like how Akame had explained the other time, combat is about more that strength.'
There was one other factor the man In white had failed to explain and which was the most likely reason. And that is that Gil was just simply a genius.
'Not in terms of smarts but in terms of learning on the go. He can take something and his body is ready to integrate it. In sorcerer society those are what we call geniuses. From Akame's cool demeanor he truly believes this. But even so I don't think its right to just ignore the basics like that.' The man thought before continuing the conversation.
"I'll teach you the basics of Jujutsu, ok?"
"Yes please I'd like that." Gil smiled.
"Good, and wouldn't you know it here comes one of our training dummies."
CRASH!
Through the door a woman dressed in suit came in. "There you ar--"
PALM: INNER CIRCLE.
In one swift motion, the man aimed the palm of his right hand at the woman's chest.
"Gyaa!" This motion made her spit blood.
"There are three basic moves to Jujutsu. The first was palm, its used to cause internal or spiritual damage depending on what you feel like doing."
But this woman was much more persistent than she looked. Recovering quickly from that attack and coming in for a punch. The man blocked it with his katana which was currently sheathed and in his left hand.
FIST: OUTER RING!
He landed a punch onto her gut. "Fist is used to deal physical damage."
"Damn you!"
FINGERS: INNER GATES!
The man used his fingers to poke specific joints on her arms. "I can't move."
"Fingers are used to block and seal chakra pathways and incapacitate movement."
SLICE!
With his katana he cut through the woman's limbs finally cutting off her head..
"Got it?"
"Um… sure I think so." Gil got up.
"There comes one for you."
A man who seemed like a body builder walked into their cart through the opposite side.
He smiled, "You're the losers I was asked to kill?" He laughed, "I can't believe how easy this job is going to be."
"Ok Gil." Said the man, "You're up."
"Yessir!"
WE'RE GETTING FIRED UP!
