Once the food was delivered, Arthur and Syr began to eat together while the warm atmosphere of the tavern surrounded them.
The sound of adventurers laughing loudly over mugs of ale mixed together with the clatter of plates and the aroma of freshly cooked meat drifting through the air.
Even with all the noise around them, Syr's attention remained completely fixed on Arthur, her blue-gray eyes studying him with growing fascination every single time he spoke.
The girl took the opportunity to ask him all sorts of questions. She wanted to know how long he had been in the city, whether he had already found a place to stay, and if he was planning to join a Familia anytime soon.
Her tone sounded casual and playful, but beneath that gentle smile was the possessiveness of a goddess already trying to secure him for herself before anyone else could.
Arthur explained that it was actually his very first day in Orario and that he still didn't have a place to stay for the night.
Hearing that made Syr secretly delighted. In her mind, that meant he was still unattached to the city itself, still vulnerable, still someone she could slowly draw closer to without interference.
With a bright smile, Syr explained that the tavern had rooms available upstairs for travelers and adventurers.
She assured him they were clean, comfortable, and safer than most cheap inns scattered around the city. Arthur pretended to think about it for a moment before agreeing without hesitation, causing Syr's smile to widen ever so slightly in satisfaction.
As they continued eating together, Syr carefully shifted the conversation toward Familias.
She casually mentioned that she had heard the Freya Familia was planning to recruit talented new adventurers soon. The way she spoke made it sound like an innocent suggestion, but in reality she was trying to guide Arthur directly toward herself without revealing her true identity.
However, before she could continue, Arthur interrupted her calmly.
"That won't be necessary," he said while cutting another piece of meat. "I already joined a Familia today."
For a brief moment, Syr's smile almost froze.
The cheerful atmosphere around her cracked slightly as jealousy surged violently through her heart. She still maintained her cute waitress persona perfectly, but inwardly she was seething with rage. The mere thought that another goddess had already placed her mark on Arthur made her possessive instincts flare uncontrollably.
Arthur pretended not to notice the subtle shift in her expression and calmly explained that he had become the very first member of the newly established Hestia Familia.
He even mentioned that Hestia herself had personally accepted him despite having almost nothing to offer.
Syr continued smiling sweetly while congratulating him on receiving his Falna and finding a place where he belonged, but behind that gentle expression, her thoughts were becoming increasingly dangerous.
She was already thinking about ways to steal him away from Hestia. In her eyes, someone with a soul as radiant and beautiful as Arthur's belonged beside her alone.
After finishing every last crumb of food on the table, Arthur finally excused himself and headed upstairs to rest for the night. It wasn't as though he truly needed sleep anymore, but he wanted some time alone so he could speak with Lilith and collect the rewards he had earned earlier.
The room itself wasn't particularly luxurious, but it was clean and surprisingly cozy. A soft bed rested against the wall beside a small wooden table, while moonlight entered gently through the window and illuminated the quiet room with a pale silver glow.
Arthur raised a barrier around the room to prevent anyone from seeing or hearing what happened inside. The air distorted slightly as the invisible layer settled into place, completely isolating the room from the outside world.
"You can come out now, Lilith."
The glyph on his hand immediately glowed with a soft pink light. A moment later, the beautiful succubus materialized beside him as though she had stepped out from another dimension entirely.
"I missed you soooo much~"
The instant she appeared, Lilith threw herself onto Arthur without the slightest hesitation. Her arms wrapped tightly around his neck while her legs locked around his waist like a koala clinging to a tree. The soft warmth of her body pressed firmly against him as she buried her face into his chest and inhaled deeply, clearly enjoying his scent.
Arthur laughed softly before steadying her in his arms.
"Are you hungry? I still have food in my inventory."
He began pulling out several dishes and snacks he had stored earlier, though he honestly wasn't completely sure what succubi actually preferred eating. Lilith glanced briefly at the food before looking back up at him with half-lidded crimson eyes filled with mischief and desire.
"Fufu~ Of course I'm hungry…"
The way she emphasized the word made her intentions painfully obvious.
What happened afterward remained hidden behind the privacy barrier surrounding the room, but Arthur learned several interesting things that night. Succubi could eat normal food without issue, but their true source of nourishment came from absorbing vitality directly from men. More specifically, they preferred a certain fluid produced by the male body, which acted as both nourishment and pleasure for their species.
By the time everything finally calmed down, Lilith lay peacefully beside him on the bed, completely exhausted. Her body curled instinctively against his while she slept soundly with a satisfied expression on her beautiful face.
Arthur gently brushed a strand of hair away from her cheek before finally deciding to use his rewards.
'Use.'
Instantly, the familiar system notifications appeared before his eyes.
[Random Skill Card Used]
Ding!
[You obtained "Simple Mastery"]
Arthur raised an eyebrow slightly after reading the description.
'Not bad… I'll definitely be able to use this later.'
It was one of the foundational techniques from the Jujutsu Kaisen world, a deceptively simple ability that theoretically allowed anyone with sufficient talent and control to maximize the efficiency of their cursed energy manipulation.
Then he moved on to the second reward.
[Special Roulette Draw Used]
Ding!
[You obtained "Wings of Talaria (System Version)"]
Arthur's eyes widened slightly.
'That's...'
=====
Wings of Talaria (System Version)
A poorly crafted power created by the god of adventure in a certain world was modified by the system to grant its host a high-quality item.
When the ability is used, a pair of wings appear on the summoner's back.
They allow the user to fly and pivot freely.
They possess outstanding durability and toughness.
They provide a superior energy regeneration rate to the summoner and their allies within a certain range.
They grant great magic resistance to the summoner and their allies within a certain range.
They instill courage in allies within range.
They instill fear in enemies within range.
The ability does not consume energy, but injecting it can increase its performance.
Injecting energy allows for an instantaneous short-range movement.
The color can be adjusted by the user.
=====
As the information flooded into his mind, he quickly realized just how absurd the ability truly was. The original power from The Tutorial Is Too Hard had already been useful, but the System had apparently modified it into something far more powerful.
The ability would allow him to manifest a pair of wings capable of true free-flight while also providing continuous regeneration and resistance buffs to nearby allies.
Even more terrifying was the psychological effect it carried. Allies would naturally feel courage and confidence while enemies would experience instinctive fear and pressure simply from standing near him.
The most important part, however, was the fact that the ability consumed virtually no energy to maintain. Instead, additional power could be injected into the wings to dramatically increase their speed and mobility, even allowing short-range instantaneous movement similar to teleportation.
Arthur smiled faintly while reading the description.
The two rewards were far better than he expected, especially considering he had only just arrived in this world.
For a couple of hours, Arthur remained inside his rented room studying the grimoire he had brought with him. The soft glow of magical circles reflected across the walls while countless symbols and formulas passed through his enhanced vision at terrifying speed.
Thanks to [Comprehension], [Six Eyes], and his absurd reserves of energy, his understanding of magic advanced rapidly with every passing minute. Concepts that would normally require years of study became increasingly clear to him.
He could already feel his control over mana improving as he experimented with small spells in the palm of his hand, repeatedly shaping and dispersing magical energy until even the smallest fluctuations became stable.
Eventually, the darkness outside the window began to fade as the first rays of morning sunlight entered the room.
Arthur closed the grimoire and glanced toward the bed where Lilith remained curled up beneath the blanket.
At first glance, she appeared to be sleeping peacefully, but Arthur could tell immediately that she had actually woken up several minutes ago and was merely pretending to remain asleep so he would continue staying beside her longer.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Inside the Dungeon, you can stay with me without needing to hide."
The moment those words left his mouth, Lilith's eyes opened instantly.
Her crimson pupils gleamed with excitement while a delighted smile spread across her face. The succubus immediately sat upright on the bed, her long hair falling loosely over her shoulders while she stretched lazily like a spoiled cat finally getting attention from its owner.
"Really~?"
Her voice sounded bright and playful now that she no longer needed to pretend.
With a simple snap of her fingers, the torn and ruined dress she wore repaired itself completely. The fabric restored itself as though time had reversed, leaving no trace whatsoever of the previous night's activities.
"Alright then, let's go~"
Arthur sighed inwardly at how quickly her mood improved, though he honestly found it adorable more than troublesome.
"For now, go back," he said while gathering his belongings. "I'll let you out again once we're inside."
Lilith puffed her cheeks slightly in dissatisfaction, but she still obeyed him without complaint. Her body dissolved into soft pink light before returning to the glyph engraved on Arthur's hand.
Afterward, Arthur changed into more suitable combat clothing before leaving the room.
He wore a tight black athletic shirt that highlighted the toned musculature of his body along with loose white combat leggings that allowed unrestricted movement. Heavy military-style boots reinforced with metal plates completed the outfit, giving him the appearance of a professional fighter rather than an ordinary adventurer.
There was no reason for him to purchase armor.
Not only did he already possess several far superior options, but his Balance Breaker and Yongpyo equipment completely eclipsed anything that could realistically exist within this world.
As Arthur descended the tavern stairs, he unexpectedly ran into Syr alongside another woman he immediately recognized from the novel's illustrations.
Ryuu Lion.
The elf stood beside Syr with her usual composed demeanor. Her long blonde hair flowed neatly down her back while her sharp blue eyes carefully observed Arthur from head to toe. Even dressed casually, she possessed the disciplined aura of an experienced warrior.
"Good morning, Arthur!"
Syr greeted him cheerfully the moment she spotted him.
"Good morning."
Ryuu also offered him a formal greeting, though her tone remained much calmer than Syr's energetic voice.
"Good morning to both of you," Arthur replied politely.
Syr tilted her head slightly after noticing his appearance.
"Are you heading toward the Dungeon already?"
Arthur nodded calmly.
"Yes. I'll probably be gone for a couple of days."
The two girls exchanged surprised glances after hearing that answer.
"A couple of days?" Ryuu repeated while narrowing her eyes slightly. "Are you planning a long excursion?"
Her gaze shifted briefly toward Arthur's body again. Despite his confident attitude, she noticed he wasn't carrying any visible supplies whatsoever. No backpack, no bedroll, no spare weapons, no food.
From her perspective, the situation made little sense.
"But you aren't carrying anything," Ryuu continued cautiously. "Are you planning to meet up with another party deeper inside the Dungeon?"
Syr, meanwhile, looked even more curious than before.
Arthur chuckled softly after hearing their concerns.
"Oh, that's simple."
He raised one hand casually before activating his inventory.
The surrounding air distorted almost imperceptibly as a small spatial ripple swallowed his arm momentarily. A second later, his hand reappeared holding several objects that clearly should not have fit inside empty space.
Syr and Ryuu both widened their eyes slightly.
Neither of them had ever seen anything remotely similar before.
"For you two."
Arthur handed each of them an oversized chocolate-chip cookie he had previously purchased specifically for situations like this. The warm smell of chocolate immediately spread through the area.
"It's basically like a personal backpack only I can access," Arthur explained casually. "I store supplies, equipment, food… pretty much everything inside."
Syr stared at the cookie in her hands with visible delight while Ryuu looked far more stunned by the spatial ability itself than by the snack.
Both of them clearly wanted to ask additional questions, but they also understood it would be rude to pry too deeply into another adventurer's abilities.
In the end, Syr happily took a bite from the cookie while Ryuu accepted hers more quietly.
"…It's delicious," Ryuu admitted after tasting it.
Syr's face brightened immediately.
"Arthur, this is amazing~!"
Arthur smiled faintly at their reactions before turning toward the tavern entrance.
"See you when I get back."
He had barely taken a few steps away when suddenly something caught his attention.
