Selene's POV
The words were quiet and was said in a calm tone yet it sounded like a slap.
He looked like he hadn't slept in days as he staggered to where Elena and I stood.
His eyes found mine immediately and didn't leave.
Elena moved first.She stepped in front of me in a bid to protect Carlos from getting close to me.
"You're not taking her back to that house."
Carlos didn't look at her even for a second,his gaze stayed on me.
"She's bleeding and needs medical supervision,not a bus ride across three states."
"What she needs to be free of you," Elena shot back. "You pushed her out of a moving car car and fought your own brother in her hospital room while she lay there half alive . Your arrogance caused this miscarriage and now you want to drag her back to the cage you built?"
Carlos flinched but he still didn't look away from me,it was obvious he was waiting for me to say something, maybe even in his favor.
