"What exactly are you trying to do?!"Yuluxi bit down on her lower lip, baring her teeth as she demanded an answer.
She simply could not accept that she had fallen into the hands of a weak human male.
No—That was wrong.
He was definitely not an ordinary human man!
He had to be hiding his true strength.
Otherwise, how could Kurose Akira have identified her as a witch with a single sentence—how could he have nullified her Demon Eye outright?
How could a weak human possibly resist the power of a Demon Eye?
He must be concealing his strength!
Then what was his true identity?
A demon?
Yes!That had to be it!
A devil straight from hell!
What Yuluxi had never expected, however, was that if she didn't activate her Demon Eye, crushing Kurose Akira would be no harder than crushing an ant.
And yet, the moment her Demon Eye was activated, what awaited her was nothing but inescapable torment.
Kurose Akira gently pinched her cheek, smiling softly as he spoke.
"If you don't want your identity as a witch to be exposed, then tell me everything. How did you become a witch—and why are you targeting Leila?"
"I won't submit to you!" Yuluxi snapped stubbornly.
Kurose Akira's smile deepened, but there was a cold decisiveness hidden beneath it. His large hand slid slowly over Yuluxi's wheat-colored skin, carrying with it an unmistakable warning.
"If you refuse to cooperate, then don't blame me for using… some special methods."
"You—! You devil! Bastard!" Yuluxi screamed in fury.
Smack!
In the blink of an eye, half an hour passed.
Relying on the counteractive effects of the Disillusion Demon Eye, Kurose Akira successfully extracted the information he wanted.
Yuluxi's Demon Eye was called the Dream-Desire Demon Eye. Its ability was to awaken the deepest desires—or nightmares—within its target, dragging them into total collapse.
Its power was formidable.
Unfortunately for her, she had encountered her natural nemesis.
Through the effects of the Disillusion Demon Eye, Kurose Akira completely neutralized the Dream-Desire Demon Eye and instead awakened Yuluxi's own nightmares.
From those nightmares, he learned the truth.
A hundred years ago, during a devastating war, the elven race had suffered catastrophic losses. Several of Yuluxi's closest companions had died on the battlefield.
While fleeing from enemy pursuit, she hid inside a mountain cave—where she accidentally obtained the inheritance of a witch.
Afterward, relying on the power of her Demon Eye, she annihilated entire enemy units. Naturally, she never revealed this secret to anyone.
However, while ordinary elves might not notice her transformation, it was impossible to escape the discerning eyes of the Elven Queen.
Yuluxi had expected punishment.
Instead, she received forgiveness.
The queen not only pardoned her but also helped her conceal the truth.
From that moment on, Yuluxi firmly aligned herself with the Elven Queen, offering her unwavering loyalty.
As for why she targeted Leila—
It was because Leila, despite being a princess, had given birth to two daughters, a grave violation of elven law.
Like other loyal supporters, Yuluxi believed she had a duty to mercilessly eliminate any instability that might threaten the Elven Queen—punishing any elf who committed transgressions without hesitation.
"So you're a devout loyalist," Kurose Akira muttered after learning her motives. "Here I was thinking you were a dark elf."
Dark purple short hair.Wheat-colored skin.A voluptuous figure. And behavior that screamed villain.
No matter how he looked at her, she fit the stereotype perfectly.
Yuluxi exploded in anger.
"How could I possibly be a dark elf?! They're a group of fallen elves who wallow in darkness, chasing power at any cost—even plotting to assassinate the Elven Queen! Don't lump me together with them!"
"I don't care about any of that," Kurose Akira replied coolly. "All I want is for you to abandon your hostility toward Leila."
"Leila violated the clan laws—"
Before Yuluxi could finish, Kurose Akira once again seized her by the throat, his voice icy.
"And didn't you violate those same laws by becoming a witch? If the Elven Queen could forgive you, then she can forgive Leila as well."
Yuluxi's eyes widened. She bit her lip hard, light flickering in her brown irises.
"It's not the same! Only the Elven Queen knows about me. But Leila giving birth to two daughters—every elf knows about that! Even if the queen forgives her, there will be dissent within the race! I will not allow even a single stain on Her Majesty's reputation!"
Her words gave Kurose Akira pause.
It was clear—Yuluxi was thinking entirely from the perspective of the Elven Queen's honor.
Indeed, for the queen to protect someone who had violated clan law would inevitably damage her reputation.
But Kurose Akira was unapologetically biased.
He was standing firmly on the side of Beiya and her three daughters.
Besides—what was a little damage to the Elven Queen's reputation going to cost her? It wasn't like she'd lose an arm over it.
From the elves' perspective, their reasoning wasn't wrong either. To them, the Elven Queen represented the entire race, and her honor outweighed everything.
"I don't want to hear any of that," Kurose Akira said coldly. "I'll ask you one thing—are you willing to abandon your hostility toward Leila and support her instead? Because if your people learn that the Elven Queen protected a witch like you, what she loses won't just be her reputation."
"You—!"
Yuluxi's body trembled.
If her clan learned that she was a witch—and that the Elven Queen had sheltered her—
Everything would collapse.
"…Fine! I agree!"After a long struggle, Yuluxi finally gave in.
"A wise choice," Kurose Akira said with a faint smile. Things had gone more smoothly than he'd expected.
Of course, that was largely because Yuluxi had activated her Demon Eye first—giving him an opening.
If she had been a dark elf instead, he'd probably already have been knocked unconscious with a club and dragged back to a cave to make babies.
With a snap of his fingers, the Demon Eye's effects instantly vanished.
Yuluxi realized she wasn't bound by any threads—she was standing upright exactly where she'd been.
"This is… an illusion?" she murmured.
Only then did she understand.
Everything that had just happened was a hallucination.
A nightmare and fantasy constructed entirely by her own Demon Eye.
"Remember our agreement, Princess Yuluxi~"Kurose Akira smiled as he stepped into the teleportation circle.
"Even if I'm willing to stop, Elina won't be," Yuluxi called out. "She wants Leila to face judgment even more than I do."
"Elina…?"
Kurose Akira repeated the name softly.
White light erupted from the teleportation array, instantly returning him to the guild hall.
"Ah… this is even more troublesome than I thought~"
He sighed quietly. Things were far more complicated than he'd anticipated.
"Mr. Kurose, you're finally back~" Ivsha hurried over, asking softly, "Did you find a solution?"
He shook his head. "Not even close."
Resolving the situation surrounding Beiya and her three daughters was proving far more difficult than expected.
"If you ask me~" Ivsha said with a smile, "all you need to do is get some elves pregnant. They'll abolish that rule themselves. Best if it's someone powerful—like the Elven Queen. If she gets pregnant, who would dare say anything?"
"?"
Kurose Akira's expression stiffened, his face turning serious.
What kind of absurd succubus logic was that?!
"Let's talk about it tomorrow. I'm exhausted."
With a sigh, he prepared to log out.
But just before disconnecting, he noticed that the Demonic Flame Silver Phoenix Butterfly was still perched against the glass, staring intently at the Snow Porpoise Egg inside.
"Has this little guy been like this for days?" Kurose Akira asked Ivsha.
"Yes," Ivsha nodded softly. "It seems completely fascinated by that egg. Someone who didn't know better might think it was its egg."
"What a strange little creature," Kurose Akira shrugged as he logged out.
After he left the game, the Demonic Flame Silver Phoenix Butterfly cautiously scanned its surroundings. Once it confirmed the guild hall was empty, it spat out a small flame, melting a hole through the glass.
Flapping its wings happily, it flew over to the Snow Porpoise Egg and gently landed on top of it.
The moment fire met ice—
The Snow Porpoise Egg began to emit a faint, shimmering light of life.
