Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

"Master~ whose letter was that?"

Ivsha's sultry voice echoed beside Kurose Akira's ear, seductive and soul-stealing like a bewitching spirit. It made his heart sway despite himself.

Cough, cough.

"It's a letter from a lady," Akira explained simply. "She knows Sister Moran and asked me to meet her tomorrow."

"She knows Sister Moran?" Ivsha showed a hint of confusion.

But thinking of how Sister Moran was always rather cold and distant, that confusion soon faded.

"Even though I don't know how exactly Master Akira came to know her~ but!"As Ivsha spoke, she gently unfurled her wings and heart-tipped tail.

She didn't even remove her nun's habit. Instead, she used her sharp nails to slice open the obstructive fabric, creating just enough space to contain the blazing holy light within.

"All I need is for my master's holy light to always carry my scent~"

"..."

Akira paused briefly, then asked casually, "Ivsha—if your sister, or your mother, were still alive in this world… what would you do?"

"Sister? Mother?"

Ivsha froze. Even the holy light she adored so much was momentarily set aside.

Akira said nothing. He merely gazed into her beautiful eyes—eyes that now carried a trace of confusion. It seemed she had never once considered such a question.

"Ivsha?" he called softly after a long while.

"Ah~"

She snapped out of her daze and smiled sweetly."If I still had a sister or a mother~ I'd have them serve Master together~"

"?"

"No—absolutely not!"Akira rejected that idea on the spot.

"Heeheehee~ Master Akira is so cute~ All right then~ now let's~" Ivsha resumed gathering holy light, her voice once more dripping with allure, "begin our prayers to the holy light~"

(What follows is an extensive description of 'praying to the holy light.' For reasons of mercy, one hundred thousand words are omitted…)

...

Inside the cathedral of Blue Moon City, a priest sat quietly reading a book in his hands. To his right, a nun knelt on the floor, her body trembling, as if terrified of incurring his wrath.

"You're saying that Priest House is dead?" Priest Twirld asked sternly as he closed his book.

"Yes, Priest Twirld. We have confirmed that Priest House has perished, but the identity of the murderer remains unknown. A count intervened and halted our investigation," the nun replied, her voice shaking.

"I told him to stop meddling in those bizarre experiments—he simply wouldn't listen. A fool, through and through. But…"A glint of suspicion flashed in Twirld's eyes. "For a count to personally step in and conceal the truth?"

He murmured to himself, then a smile slowly crept across his lips."This is… interesting."

The nun continued, "Additionally, a baron also died in Silvermoon Town. He appears to have been the royal knight serving that princess."

"Oh?"

Twirld narrowed his eyes slightly. In that instant, it seemed he understood something.

"You may leave."

"Yes."

The nun answered respectfully and slowly withdrew from the cathedral.

Watching her retreating figure, Twirld rose with a smile and walked toward the statue of the God of Light. Stopping before it, he gently stomped his right foot.

A hidden door suddenly opened beneath the statue.

The moment it opened, a woman's scream echoed from within.

Without hesitation, Twirld stepped inside, descending into the secret chamber concealed beneath the church. As soon as he entered, a man's furious curses rang out.

"Twirld! The goods you found are complete trash! Where are the well-trained, slutty nuns?! Where's the church's 'confession service'?! You promised me everything, and you delivered nothing! After all the resources I invested in you—this is how you repay me?! I'm deeply disappointed!"

Twirld replied solemnly, "Please rest assured, Guildmaster. I will prepare the finest offerings immediately."

"You'd better hurry. Don't keep me waiting!"

"Previously, the Overseers from the Holy See were stationed near Blue Moon City. We had no choice but to find a scapegoat to evade their scrutiny," Twirld explained. "You know as well as I do—this ancient method of transaction has been banned by the current Pope. If we were exposed, the punishment would be severe."

"But I've just received word—the Overseers have been temporarily reassigned to another city. They seem to have found traces of a witch there and won't be returning anytime soon.""This time, I'll act personally. I guarantee you'll be satisfied, Guildmaster."

"Good, good, good! I look forward to your results!"

...

The next day, after finishing his classes, Akira returned home.

He planned to pull an all-nighter in-game. Tomorrow was Saturday, and with no need to work part-time at the noodle shop, he had plenty of time to immerse himself in the game world.

After a quick dinner, Akira put on his VR headset and logged in.

Today, there was a lot to handle.

First was resolving the Flame Chrysalis crisis beneath Sunset City. Then there was Idice's invitation, which he had to attend as promised.

Besides that… for some reason, he felt noticeably stronger lately.

Before, he could only let Ivsha have her way with him.But now—he was starting to show signs of counterattacking.

Every time he neared his limit, Akira could feel a mysterious magical force surging within him, easing his exhaustion—allowing him to stand up again and again at the brink of collapse, charging forward without retreat.

"Is it because of that strand of pure lust-aspected magic?"Akira narrowed his eyes in speculation.

"Master Akira, I'm here~"

The guild doors slowly opened as Ivsha arrived right on time.

Her face was glowing with joy. Last night's performance had left a deep impression on her, and she clearly hoped for a repeat—though unfortunately, now wasn't the time.

"Get ready. We're heading out."

Akira had just received a message from Roxia. The Ice Shards of the Icefield Snow Maiden had arrived in Sunset City, and preparations to destroy the Flame Chrysalis were complete.

"Mmm~"

The scene shifted.

Akira arrived at the Yerman Family's castle.

He noticed numerous carriages from distant lands gathered outside. Among them, one especially luxurious carriage immediately caught his attention.

"Master Akira, you've arrived!"

Natasha greeted him enthusiastically, her eyes shimmering with delight.

"These carriages are…?" Akira asked curiously.

"They're from the children who came to celebrate Roxia's coming-of-age ceremony. That princess is here as well~" Natasha explained with a smile.

"I see."

"Let's head inside. Roxia has been waiting for quite some time."

Led by Natasha, Akira made his way to the Yerman Family's reception hall.

Along the way, he saw many young law-enforcement knights stationed throughout the castle. Each of them was at least level 12—some even level 15.

In Sunset City, this already counted as exceptional talent. After all, Roxia herself had only been level 12 before. It was only after receiving the White Rose's recognition that she had just advanced to level 14.

This made it abundantly clear—knights from the royal capital possessed far greater innate talent than those from a remote city like Sunset.

When Akira entered the reception hall, Roxia was seated upright at the center.

Beside her sat a young girl wearing a pale yellow princess dress, appearing around fifteen or sixteen years old.

She had long, light-orange hair, like flowing sunlight cascading over her shoulders. Her petite figure resembled a delicately sculpted porcelain doll—perfect, fragile, and refined. Her exquisite face bloomed like a sunflower in spring, lifted proudly toward the sun, noble and radiant. And those golden eyes sparkled with keen intelligence, drawing anyone who looked into them irresistibly deeper…
