As Bai Xinyue was struggling to control the rampaging emotions within her, Huang Shi forced himself to act completely fine; even though every single cell within his body urged him to make a move, his rationality overcame his base desires.
Thank god she's hiding under those covers, if not, even with the system's help, I would probably be doomed.
Currently, he and Bai Xinyue were both lying down on his bed, facing the ceiling. Neither of them had made a move to try and hold each other's hand, despite that being the agreement. Bai Xinyue eventually couldn't hold herself back as, once again, she was the one who broke the silence first.
She flipped over on her side and stared at him with her beautiful silver-gold hued eyes. Currently, they were all that was exposed of her, but it was clear from the slight hint of mischief in her gaze that she was planning something.
"Aren't you gonna hold my hand yet? Don't tell me you're going back on your word?"
Huang Shi shivered as he keenly noticed the piercing gaze that was locked onto him; it was like a predator stalking its prey, and unfortunately for him, he was already helplessly in her grasp.
Ah shit... Let's just do this. Aren't I a player? Holding hands is nothing!
With that being said, he finally turned his head to look at her. His golden eyes and her gold-and-silver eyes met, and once again he was left dazed, consumed by the beauty of those gems.

Seeing that Huang Shi was once again looking like a puppet, Bai Xinyue smiled in satisfaction as she moved her hand. But instead of holding his hand like what was agreed, she instead moved her dainty hand up to his face, cupping his cheeks.
The moment her hand came into contact with his skin, he felt like he was electrocuted, feeling goosebumps all over his skin. He started to breathe heavily again as the system went into overdrive in the background, trying its best to make sure that he wouldn't succumb to her charms.

After an extended silence, Bai Xinyue suddenly started to move her fingers in soft circles on his face. While looking straight into his face, she was looking everywhere—his eyes, his hair, his ears, his nose, his lips—it was as if she was trying to engrave his features into her memories.
Her face, which was usually a mask of cold and regal indifference, now seemed incredibly soft, like she was looking at the most valuable thing in existence. Ultimately, the look on her face was the thing that slowly got him out of his state of stupor as a strange feeling started to well up within him.
Bai Xinyue, as if noticing that he had finally woken up, suddenly smiled as she used her thumb to touch his lips, once again making him tremble; however, he kept himself in check as the strange feeling only intensified the more she looked at him that way.
"Are you wondering why it seems as if I have changed overnight? Why my emotions are suddenly as deep as they are?"
Even though Huang Shi didn't say anything, this was indeed something that he found confusing. Despite him not looking at her affection level right now, he could guess based on the way she was behaving that it was at least above 80.
Why did this woman suddenly fall in love with me? I didn't even do anything! For some reason, after he had started to calm down, numerous questions suddenly started appearing inside of his mind. The most important of which was the fact that Bai Xinyue seemed to just suddenly become incredibly infatuated with him, to the point that she would even start actively pursuing and trying to seduce him.
This doesn't make sense. Does she have some sort of ulterior motive? Seeing that Huang Shi didn't answer and just remained quiet, she suddenly shifted a bit, moving a bit closer to him as if she was trying her best to get a closer look at his features. She had even taken the covers off of her face, making him—despite his best efforts—turn dazed for a few seconds once again as he caught a glimpse of her immaculate beauty.

She spoke in a sweet and soft voice, staring into his eyes with a dreamy look.

Hearing Bai Xinyue speak, he quietly calmed down, trying his best to listen to her properly.

She spoke softly, looking into him, trying her best to make him understand. Huang Shi suddenly shivered as his expression changed into a grimace; all of a sudden, he had a bad feeling about where this conversation was going.
