Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 He Yan's Thoughts

Chapter 8 He Yan's Thoughts

Seeing that the waiter was staring at the Moon Goddess without blinking, He Yu immediately stepped forward to block the waiter's view and gave him a warning look.

The waiter snapped out of his daze and quickly looked down, but couldn't hide the amazement on his face.

Seeing that the Moon Goddess was standing on the carriage without moving, He Yan was about to ask what was wrong when he saw her frown slightly, but only for a moment, before getting off the carriage.

He Yan initially thought that the Moon Goddess was dissatisfied with the inn, but he quickly noticed that the moonlight on the ground beneath the Moon Goddess's feet was softer and brighter than in other places. Moreover, he noticed that the Moon Goddess's feet were not actually touching the ground, but were about a fingernail's width away from it.

It's easy to miss if you don't look closely, since the skirt covers it.

He Yan then understood that the Moon Goddess didn't dislike the inn, but rather the dirty ground.

Keeping this in mind, He Yan silently walked ahead to clear the way, while He Yu and the guards followed behind.

It was already late at night, and the inn was brightly lit because of the strange celestial phenomenon that had occurred earlier. Soft voices could be heard all over the upstairs. Fortunately, only two waiters were on the first floor; no one else was there.

The guards who arrived early approached He Yan and told him about the rooms they had booked.

The room they booked was the best one, the top floor, which was almost always occupied. The He family had compensated them with money and moved to the lower floors.

Now, the third floor of the "Sky" room is completely empty.

He invited Xi Yue to the door of the middle room. He Yan pushed the door open but did not go in.

"I live next door. Please feel free to give any instructions, Moon Goddess," he said, standing by the door.

Xi Yue nodded and went inside.

"Moon Goddess." He Yu suddenly spoke, causing He Yan's eyebrows to twitch involuntarily.

Xi Yue turned her head and looked at him, her cold eyes fixed on him. He Yu suddenly blushed: "Do you need water and food?"

Of course I want it!

Xi Yue suppressed her excitement but didn't dare to agree directly.

This body doesn't need to eat, drink, or excrete, nor does it sweat or produce dust; it even has a self-cleaning function. But having lived here for over twenty years, eating and bathing are ingrained habits for her—how could she possibly refuse?

But it's a bit unreasonable for gods to bathe like mortals. Eating, however, is a different story—the moon goddess is very curious about that!

"Prepare some food," the Moon Goddess said, a hint of curiosity in her eyes, likely because she had never tasted mortal food before and was curious about it.

After the He brothers closed the door and left with their guards, Xi Yue immediately opened the system shop.

Although it won't get dirty, taking a bath is still very necessary. You can't ruin your image by asking others for water to bathe every day, so just buy it yourself.

Skills can be exchanged within the system, but some items need to be purchased from the in-game store.

The mall is a chaotic mess; it has everything. If you can think of it, you can buy it here.

They quickly discovered the item "Flowing Hot Spring," which cost 2,000 Faith Points. However, to upgrade the space, they would need another 3,000 Faith Points.

The space can only hold inanimate objects; if you want living things to enter, you need to upgrade it.

Just like the realm of skills is all the king's land. Currently, the range is only one kilometer, but if you spend faith points to upgrade, the area will expand.

Without hesitation, Xi Yue spent 5,000 faith points to purchase the hot spring and upgrade the space.

About two incense sticks' worth of time passed before footsteps sounded outside.

The footsteps were very light, but within a kilometer radius, nothing could escape Xi Yue's notice.

Soon, He Yan's voice rang out: "Moon Goddess, the food is ready."

His response was that the door opened automatically.

Seeing the open door and the Moon Goddess sitting in the chair without getting up, He Yan lowered his eyes and walked in carrying a tray, followed by He Yu, who was also carrying a tray.

As for the guards, He Yan sent them to rest and to take turns guarding the entrance to the third floor to prevent any fools from accidentally wandering in.

The tray was large, and it seemed to be the first time the two of them had done this kind of work, as their movements were somewhat stiff and unfamiliar.

Each of the two trays contains four dishes, a soup, and a dessert.

Fortunately, the table in the top-tier room was large enough to hold all the dishes.

"Time is short, I'm sorry to have troubled the Moon Goddess," He Yan said softly.

Xi Yue's expression remained calm, but in reality, she was already drooling inside.

Having only eaten a few fruits in the few days since arriving in this world, she was suddenly faced with so much food. If she didn't need to maintain her persona, she might have kicked the He brothers out the door and then locked herself in to enjoy the delicious food.

She picked up her chopsticks, and under their watchful eyes, used a spoon to scoop up a small fish ball.

The fish balls were made very small, just the right size for a woman to eat in one small bite, and they were also very chewy, indicating that they had been pounded many times.

He slowly ate a few fish balls, which were not enough to fill his teeth, and then picked up his chopsticks to eat the fish meat.

After taking a few bites of each dish, drinking half a bowl of soup, and eating a few pastries, he put down his chopsticks.

The dishes on the table looked almost untouched, but the plates were actually quite large, and Xi Yue had eaten quite a bit.

Seeing that she had stopped eating, the He brothers consciously began to clear away the dishes.

Although the Moon Goddess did not say whether she was satisfied with the food, the fact that she ate a little of each dish and showed no displeasure or difficulty swallowing was enough to show that she was quite satisfied with the meal.

This relieved He Yan, since he had just personally ordered these dishes from the kitchen.

"Moon Goddess, please rest early." He Yu smiled and quickly closed the door and left before Xi Yue could look over.

As soon as the two left, Xi Yue immediately went to her space and took a good bath.

The moon-white starry dress she had changed out of was still hanging in the space. In addition, there were nine other dresses in various beautiful colors. The fabric was similar to the light gold dress she was wearing, and they could be worn when walking outside.

Each set costs 100 faith points and has basic dust removal functionality, costing her a total of 1,000 faith points.

As for the moon-white starry dress, it costs 500 faith points to buy a set, which not only removes dust but also makes you invulnerable to water, fire, and weapons.

While she was enjoying a relaxing soak in the hot spring, He Yan instructed all the guards and He Yu that they should not address the Moon Goddess as such in the presence of others, but should use the respectful title "you" instead.

Besides wanting the Moon Goddess to have a good time, He Yan also had some personal motives.

Once the identity of a deity is exposed, especially at such a time, it is very easy for the news to reach the ears of the imperial court.

This is not good for any family.

After everyone said they remembered, He Yan went back to his room and wrote two more letters, which he then had delivered to the He family mansion in the capital and the old residence in Qingzhou that very night.

In the capital, they naturally needed to inform their father about their encounter with the Moon Goddess. As for the old house in Qingzhou, they needed to have it repaired as quickly as possible and be properly decorated at great expense.

We must never wrong or neglect the gods
