As night fell, the lights of Port Royal cast long reflections on the sea, like a golden ribbon.
This strongest fortress in the Caribbean Sea appeared tranquil and peaceful at night.
Inside the harbor, masts stood tall, and several Royal Navy warships flying the Union Jack flag were quietly docked at the military pier.
No one would have thought that beneath this tranquility, a black phantom was silently approaching.
the explorer had lowered all its sails, even the albatross flag representing its identity had been taken down.
The crew, using wet cloths to muffle their oars, carefully rowed under Roger's command, steering the ship towards the secret waterway marked on the map.
"Everyone listen, from now on, no one is allowed to make any sound!"
Roger lowered his voice, giving orders to the crew who were standing by on deck.
"If anyone dares to make a sound and alert the British, I'll be the first to throw him overboard to feed the fish!"
Everyone nodded nervously, even their breathing became lighter.
Jack Sparrow stood at the bow, holding his compass that always pointed to what he desired most, constantly comparing it with Roger's chart.
The expression on his face slowly changed from initial skepticism to shock.
Roger's map was surprisingly accurate down to the smallest detail!
"To the left, a little more... Yes, behind that rock that looks like an old woman's backside, the entrance is there!"
Jack directed in a low voice.
the explorer, like a nimble fish, skillfully slipped into an extremely narrow entrance.
The rocks on both sides of the hull almost scraped against the ship's sides.
Upon entering the waterway, a strong undercurrent immediately grabbed the hull, carrying them rapidly towards the interior of the harbor.
"My goodness, there really is such a waterway!"
Billy looked at the rapidly receding rock walls on both sides, exclaiming in a low voice.
"Captain Roger is simply the Sea God himself!"
Hanson was even more utterly impressed with Roger.
Finally, after a dizzying spin, the explorer suddenly burst out of the waterway into a calm, open body of water.
This was the abandoned old pier of Port Royal.
The pier was empty, with only a few dilapidated fishing boats leaning crookedly against the shore.
In the distance, the brightly lit white building of the Governor's Mansion was clearly visible.
They had truly snuck in without anyone knowing!
"Alright, everyone."
Roger steadily moored the ship in an inconspicuous corner and dropped anchor.
He turned and looked at Jack Sparrow, a hopeful smile on his face.
"Captain Sparrow, it's your turn to perform now."
"Leave it to me."
Jack adjusted his tricorn hat and winked at Roger.
He pulled out a small glass bottle from his pocket, which contained several lively fireflies.
"This is my treasured luminous navigator."
Jack said mysteriously.
"With it, I can come and go freely in the dark."
After speaking, he hung the bottle on his waist, then picked up a pre-prepared rope from the ship's side.
The other end of the rope had a small grappling hook.
He swung the rope dashingly, then suddenly threw it towards the pier on the shore.
The ideal was full, but the reality was lean.
The grappling hook drew a crooked arc in the air and landed with a "thud" several meters away in the water, splashing a small amount.
On the deck, there was a burst of stifled laughter.
Jack's face instantly darkened.
"Ahem... a mistake, purely a mistake."
He coughed twice awkwardly and pulled the rope back.
"The wind at night was too strong, affecting my aim."
He threw the grappling hook again.
This time, the grappling hook did catch onto a wooden pile on the pier, but it seemed to be loosely attached.
Jack didn't care; he grabbed the rope, pushed off the ship's side with his feet, and intended to make a cool pendulum swing, directly landing on the shore.
However, he had only swung halfway.
With a "crack."
The wooden pile, which didn't look very sturdy, snapped in response.
Jack Sparrow let out a scream and, with a "plop," fell into the cold sea water.
"Hahahahahahaha!"
This time, Billy could no longer hold back.
He clutched his stomach, laughing and rolling on the deck.
The other pirates also laughed so hard they swayed.
"My God... is this the legendary Pirate King?"
"Is he sure he's not here to be funny?"
"I'm starting to feel a little sorry for that traitor named Barraba; how did he put up with this guy for so many years?"
Gibbs covered his face, looking as if he couldn't bear to watch.
He felt that all his dignity for his entire life was lost tonight.
Meeting Jack was the biggest mistake he had ever made in his life.
Roger was also caught between laughter and tears.
He finally understood.
Jack Sparrow, this guy, his passive skill was that he couldn't stay cool for more than three seconds.
As soon as he started showing off, he was bound to make a fool of himself.
Finally, the crew, with many hands, pulled the drenched and shivering Captain Jack back up.
"Alright, stop playing."
Roger handed him a bottle of rum.
"Warm yourself up, and just swim over."
Jack took the bottle, took a big gulp, and only then felt alive again.
He glared fiercely at the crew who were still snickering, then jumped into the water without a word, swimming clumsily towards the pier.
Looking at his desolate back, Roger silently prayed for him.
He hoped his next "performance" would be a little more reliable than before... Half an hour later.
A grand ball was being held in the banquet hall of the Governor's Mansion.
Governor Swann was chatting and laughing with a group of elegantly dressed nobles. His daughter, the beautiful Elizabeth Swann, was somewhat absentmindedly responding to Commodore Norrington's invitation.
"Father, I'm feeling a bit unwell; I'm going back to my room first..."
Not long after she left.
With a loud "bang."
The banquet hall doors were kicked open.
A man, soaking wet, with seaweed still in his hair and heavy dark circles under his eyes, staggered in.
However, he was covered in large, bitten bumps.
He held an empty wine bottle and pointed at the huge crystal chandelier in the center of the hall, loudly announcing in a drunken tone.
"Hiccup... I, the great Captain Jack Sparrow, declare... the requisition of your... your shiny thing!"
"And all your rum!"
The entire banquet hall instantly fell silent.
All the nobles and ladies looked at this uninvited guest as if he were a madman.
"Guards! Guards! Arrest this lunatic!"
Governor Swann's face turned pale with anger, and he shouted loudly.
A group of Guards in red uniforms immediately rushed forward, surrounding Jack.
"Oh? Want to fight me?"
Jack grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth.
He suddenly smashed the wine bottle in his hand to the ground, then pulled out something no one expected from his pocket.
A honeycomb wrapped in cloth!
He held the honeycomb high and shook it at the Guards.
"You red-trousered idiots!"
Saying that, Jack suddenly threw the honeycomb towards the Guards.
"Buzz—"
Countless disturbed bees instantly swarmed out.
"Ah! Bees!"
"Help!"
The banquet hall instantly descended into chaos.
Nobles screamed and fled in all directions, and the Guards also stopped trying to catch Jack, each clutching their heads, rolling on the floor, stung by bees.
The entire security force of the Governor's Mansion was drawn to this sudden chaos.
Meanwhile, in the back garden of the Governor's Mansion, Roger, accompanied by Billy and Hanson, silently climbed over the wall.
"Captain, this guy... he really has something."
Billy looked at the chaos in the distant banquet hall, unable to help but express his admiration.
"Let's go, no more nonsense."
Roger lowered his voice.
"Our target is the room on the far right of the second floor."
He looked at the lit window, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
Miss Elizabeth Swann, we've come to "invite" you as our guest.
