Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Shadow of the Spider

Su Mu navigated the labyrinthine alleys of Hell's Kitchen, his movements guided by the fractured memories of his predecessor. The air here was thick with the scent of grease and garbage, a stark contrast to the sterile, cold death of the basement he had just escaped.

He knew he was on borrowed time. His identity as a mutant had been laid bare the moment he unleashed his powers. Between the government authorities—who viewed mutants as walking bio-weapons—and Kingpin, the underground emperor whose business he had just incinerated, Su Mu was now the most wanted man in New York.

Survival demanded power. And power required energy.

His reserves were nearly dry. The constant upkeep of Infinity and the two high-output bursts of "Blue" had pushed his body to its limit. If a strike team found him now, he would be little more than a target.

As he turned a corner into a secluded maintenance alley, Su Mu spotted his salvation: a heavy-duty industrial transformer humming with high-voltage power.

In the early stages of his growth, electricity was the most accessible "fuel" available. With the Six Eyes providing surgical precision, Su Mu reached out. He didn't just grab the wires; he tapped into the flow, regulating his Energy Absorption to match the exact limit of his body's current capacity.

[Energy Point +1... +1... +1] [Energy Absorption Experience +1... +1]

The hollow, exhausted feeling in his chest began to fade, replaced by a warm, buzzing vitality. As his reserves reached the overflow point, Su Mu didn't stop. He began to circulate the energy, practicing the skills he had inherited.

The system provided the blueprint, but mastery required repetition. His current version of "Blue" was a shadow of Gojo Satoru's true power—it was smaller, slower, and consumed too much fuel. To surpass the original template, he had to refine the technique until it became second nature.

Among his skills, the Six Eyes acted as his processor, and Energy Absorption was his battery. The Limitless technique was his ultimate shield, but upgrading it was a slow process of reducing energy cost. Therefore, his priority was "Blue."

At its current level, his "Azure Singularity" was too sluggish. It could crush a stationary thug, but a speedster or a trained superhero would dodge it with ease.

Using the Six Eyes to visualize the atomic structure of the space in front of him, Su Mu condensed a bead of blue energy no larger than a ping-pong ball. He focused intensely, commanding the tiny, high-density sphere to dart through the air in complex patterns.

The tiny blue light zipped between rusted pipes and brick walls, humming like a lethal hornet.

Suddenly, the Six Eyes twitched. A 360-degree perception was a blessing and a curse; it meant Su Mu caught the slight vibration of a silken thread sticking to the brickwork above him before his brain even processed the threat.

Thwip!

A shadow plummeted from the roof of a nearby warehouse. It was sleek, agile, and draped in a red-and-blue suit that shimmered under the dim streetlights.

The figure landed silently on a fire escape, crouching like a predator. It wasn't the Spider-Man Su Mu expected. The silhouette was distinctly feminine, with a white-and-pink lined hood pulled over her mask.

Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy).

She tilted her head, her masked eyes fixed on the humming blue singularity floating near Su Mu's hand and the sparking transformer he was still draining.

"You know," Gwen said, her voice muffled but tinged with caution, "most people just use a charger for their phones. You're kind of overdoing it, don't you think, Sparky?"

Su Mu didn't extinguish the "Blue" floating beside him. He turned slowly, his snow-white hair catching the moonlight, his deep blue eyes locking onto the hero.

"Hell's Kitchen is a busy place tonight," Su Mu replied calmly. "Are you here to save me, or to turn me in?"

Gwen shifted her weight, her spider-sense likely screaming at the sheer density of energy radiating from the "gentle-looking" boy. "That depends. Are you the one who just turned a city block into a crater, or is there another white-haired guy with a hobby for urban demolition?"
