I sat up from bed aggressively breathing heavily. What happened, was this a dream? No it wasn't, Yuuma killed me. I looked at my abdomen, where should have been a deadly wound was... nothing. I had no injuries. How is that possible? I got out of bed, Yuuma had wings she reminded me of Angel. She might actually be an angel though. She used a light spear to attack me, light spears are angel weapons right?
But how am i alive anyways? I sat for a few minutes thinking and wracking my brain.
"Wake up Issei!" Came mom's voice from downstairs.
I woke up from my thoughts and headed down.
A few days passed after that, I searched for any information about Yuuma but it was as if she didn't even exist. There were no records of her in any school of the area, even though she wore a school uniform. I had told some of my friends that I was going on a date that day, but they didn't even remember the conversation.
It was something I was familiar with. As jujutsu sorcerers we used to put a vail so normal humans didn't see nor remember us exorcising a curse. And I think what is going on is something similar to that.
Something else had changed. Sunlight was making me feal drained and weak, and the rays seemed to be burn right through me, I felt tired during the day but became like an owl during the night. I could even sense my power increase during the night. Well my power increased overall, since it was something i was susceptible about, I could feel that my body had become stronger and more sturdy, I was also faster and my stamina significantly increased.
As i walked through the school, girls continued glancing at me and whisper in groups. Kuoh academy was originally an all-girls school, but It turned co-ed not too long ago. So the girls outnumbered the boys.
Classes ended for the day, students darted out of the school, but today there was a bit of a commotion. Well a silent commotion, all my classmates stopped in tracks as they watched a girl strolling through the schoolyard, It was the school idol, Rias Gremory.
Rias Gremory was a third year student who's beauty transcends the beautiful. She was the most beautiful girl I have seen in both lives. Her long Crimson reached down to her waist and her skin, white as snow, was stunning. Her blue ocean eyes completed her look giving her mesmerizing vibe.
But that wasn't all there was to Rias. She was one of the few students who have powers in school. And i believe she was the one who saved my life on that day. Based on everything i saw and remember, that was the one and only plausible answer. But I hadn't reached out to her yet, I was pretty sure she'll contact me soon enough.
And I was right.
That night as i was heading to the convenience store near my house, I felt like I was being followed. A cold gaze locked on to me, I looked at the direction of the gaze and saw a man in a suit following me, I stopped in my tracks and looked at him.
"do you need anything sir?"
"What luck to meet someone like you in this town?" Is he drunk?
"huh?"
"Who is your master? Must be low-ranked to choose a place like this?"
"Sir, I think you've got the wrong person" I hoped so at least, for some reason I have a bad feeling about this.
"Wait are you a stray? It would make sense then"
"Stray? What are you talking about?"
Suddenly light formed in his hand and a light spear appeared in his hand, before he could move again. I started running at high speed, the man chased after me, Black wings extended from his back and he flew at me thrusting his spear. I dodged his attack, and changed streets. He followed me and high speed, as i fled running from street to street.
I was fast now, close to my speed in my previous life. I continued running till I arrived at a park, it was the same park where Yuuma stabbed me. The man flew at me straight and threw the light spear, I Grabbed the metal cover of a trash can, and tried to block the attack, The spear went straight through the metal and pierced my shoulder.
I gritted my teeth, then jumped back avoiding a punch from him. He attacked me with a right hook, i dodged then countered, but i my eyes sensed danger and side stepped, a light spear passed right through my previous position. I jumped back creating some distance between us.
"You're tough, you know how to fight"
I breathed heavily, i had lost lots of blood due to my shoulder injury. I took a fighting position as i looked at him straight in the eyes, I'm not going to die this time.
Suddenly, there was an earsplitting gust of wind and the air in front of me suddenly exploded. I looked up and the man's right hand was blown away, his arm bloodied.
"I'll ask you to keep your hands off him."
A tall, graceful woman stepped past me. That crimson hair...
"…Crimson hair. A Gremory, then," the man snarled, hatred burning in his eyes.
"Rias Gremory," she said calmly. "Touch him again, and I won't be merciful."
The man scoffed, offering a mocking apology before issuing his own warning. Rias answered coolly, reminding him that this town was under her protection.
"My name is Dohnaseek," he replied at last. "Let's hope we never meet again."
With a beat of black wings, he vanished into the night. The danger seemed to pass, but as relief washed over me, my vision blurred, and consciousness began to slip away.
"Oh are you about to faint, you did lose a lot of blood..."
Before she could finish i was already passed out.
